Wonderful location and parking. Comfortable, clean. Large reception and commons areas. Breakfast was mostly packaged but lots of good choices.

I travel frequently and have stayed in many hotels all over the world. This is only the 2nd hotel I have been in that provided 2 luggage racks in the room! While it may seem like a small thing it always amazes me that hotel rooms made for multiple people only supply one luggage rack, making peole have to balance additional suitcases on desk chairs or window sills. Besides that, this hotel is quiet, beds are comfy, and the location is perfect for exploring Decorah. We had a drink in the hotel bar and it was delicious and the bartender was friendly. We will definitely stay here again when we're in the area.

Beautiful hotel with very strange front desk people. They acted like everything was a problem and made it feel like it was my problem, from Check in to checkout. And in the morning I asked if I could print something and the guy said he didn’t know how to do that. I’d need to wait for someone else to come in, but we had to leave for work so it didn’t happen. The beds are squishy and I couldn’t sleep all night. The upside was the bar and the bartender Stacy who was really sweet and lovely!

I enjoyed my stay at this elegant, historic hotel in the middle of Decorah. My room was clean and everything was in food order. All staff members I dealt with were friendly and helpful.

Could use bright light by the sink in the bathroom.

No blankets on the bed to warm you the thermostat was very hard to work and very little heat. Walls are very thin.

It was great, the bathroom door just had some unknown residue that could be seen and could have been cleaned more thoroughly. Otherwise great trip.

Very small room. Desk was same as lounge table with basic kitchen table chairs. Bed sagged badly towards middle. Very clean room and hotel. Breakfast options very very limited: 3 cold cereals, prepackaged muffins and granola bars. Certainly for the price you’d expect a lot more from this hotel

The place is off the hook for design and enjoyment. Our room 204 had a king bed that sunk in the middle so getting a good nights rest was impossible sleeping at 30 degree angle. They need a repair or replacement bed. This was the only thing this place had that was negative. The woodwork in beautiful in every way. What a great place to stay at. Staff was very friendly, I guess we should asked for a different room with a bed that a couple could sleep in.

Exceptionally clean and aesthetically appealing - beautiful hotel! Downsides were the differences of opinion voiced between the 2 front desk clerks at check-in, the sub par offerings of the continental breakfast, the low quality toilet paper, and no grab bars or bath mat in the bathtub/shower (however a mat was provided upon request)

They said that they had no reservation. Claimed that Expedia has been a problem for a week or so. Offered comparable room for $100 or so more. Drove another half hour and booked a room for the night

Beautiful hotel in a historic old building with all the modern amenities. So very happy we stayed here!

The hotel has a GREAT location! Check-in staff and bar staff were especially friendly and helpful. Our only "complaint" is that the continental breakfast is sugar-heavy...something a little nicer would better fit the hotel. Cellophane-wrapped muffins?? I also gave many lessons on how to operate the new-fangled coffee machine :-)
