We decided to stay at the Latchis because the unique art deco exterior has intrigued us for many years, and the interior more than lived up to the promise of time travel back to the 1930s. Some of the reviewers appear to have gotten lost on their way to a Holiday Inn Express, finding fault with the rugs or the mattresses or the cleaning, and missed the fact that we were in one of the most unique hotels in New England—a loving if not lavish restoration—for the same price. If only more hoteliers had the courage to take on properties like this one.

Service ce at check-in was exemplary. The hotel was a lovely combination of modern monitors and vintage picturesqueness.

On line stated free breakfast and parking, no breakfast since covid closed, i stayed 6 nights, last day after driving out for lunch, returning at 1:20 pm, there was no parking spots left( check out 11 am, check in 3 pm)was told to pay for parking in a lot, the management wouldn't tow illegally parked, even though 8 more people hadn't checked in yet- so frustrating! I spent more than $1000 for my stay.

If you're looking for something other than a cookie cutter chain hotel, this is the place. Fantastic location right downtown. Friendly staff, room had a fridge and microwave. Hotel parking available. A pub right in the hotel for a nightcap. It's a restoration project that's still in progress so perhaps one day a small fitness center (there's plenty of outdoor activities) but overall we really enjoyed

Cute little hotel and friendly staff!! Would be nice to have new carpet or flooring put down in the rooms. Current carpet looks old. But overall was very clean!

Feels like staying at a Hollywood hotel circa 1940s. Right in downtown!

The hotel is dated, probably for the appeal of historical accuracy. The carpets made me want to vom but otherwise it was a good stay. conveniently in the center of everything so we were able to walk everywhere

This is a NON-PROFIT hotel being restored. There is no daily maid service unless stay is longer than 3 days. The room we had was freshly painted in Art Deco colors, but that was the only thing arty about it. The staff was very helpful and the bed was comfortable. Location is excellent. Theater was cool

Excellent service checking in, great location for walking and dining options. Hotel very historic with an old time vibe, a lot of fun. Only issue is room was super warm but we will definitely stay again!

Friendly staff, beautiful rooms, convenient walk from Amtrak station and to downtown

Lovely Art-Deco hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Records and record players in every room was fun and location to downtown was excellent with easy parking provided. Having the theater right there was unique and it was fun to grab popcorn for a snack. I would call this hotel more of an interesting experience then anything. Being downtown made for a loud and difficult nights sleep in combination with the extremely hot temperature of the rooms that can not be controlled by guests. I probably would not stay here again if I was looking for a good night sleep but I am glad I got the chance to experience it.

Nice location
Room was rough and the window would not close (January in Vermont is quite cold)!

We love staying at the Latchis Hotel when we are in Brattleboro. The staff are always courteous and pleasant, and for the age of the building, the hotel is very well maintained. We love the ambiance and history visible in the lobby and rooms. The location is great too.

This hotel is a beautiful historic property with rooms containing historic elements. The service is excellent. Parking is easy and it is very close. Walking to bars restaurants the supermarket and you can even walk to a trail head across the bridge in New Hampshire.

Amy the manager was very accommodating as I needed to stay an extra night. Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Good coffee downstairs, and always available. Right in downtown Brattleboro. Close to shopping, bars, restaurants. I recommend the Latchis Hotel.

Enjoyed the history and the staff. The property itself has challenges. The windows are so thin you can hear everything on the street. Last night it was a drunk guy yelling from 2-4am.
Enjoyed our stay. Lovely staff in the theatre!!

It was a cute property attached to a theater in a very central location. There is a food coop nearby as well as many restaurants and shops along the street. Definitely recommend staying there if skiing nearby. It snowed overnight and They even removed the snow off our vehicle in the morning!

While it seems haunted here, it was also exceedingly clean, cool (record players in the room was a great touch!), friendly, the staff went out of their way to be kind. I would definitely recommend, and felt completely at ease as a solo female traveler. A great place to stay!

Amazing place located in the center of it all. So many little details that you have to experience. And the staff cleaned the snow off my car... You find that anywhere else.

The staff was wonderful. The room was very clean. There was a slight dripping from the tub faucet. I thought the windows could use a second frame of plexiglass to insulate against street noise. Would stay again.

Great price for location and quality. This is our 3rd year staying over for a work function in town.

Convenient location, right in the heart of downtown Brattleboro within walking distance to shops and great dinning establishments. The only downside was the bed in our room was not very comfortable. The building has great character and decor and the staff was great.

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at the Latchis Hotel. It is as advertised, an older historic hotel with interesting architectural features and amenities. The two bedroom suite is spacious and comfortable. There are records and record players in the rooms. Very retro and cool! The adjacent Latchis Theater is beautiful. The hotel staff, especially the general manager, are uniformly friendly and helpful. The only real negative is the nighttime traffic noise from the convenient, but very busy Brattleboro Main Street location. Noise-cancelling earpods helped a lot. This was our second time staying at the Latchis, and we will be staying there again when in the Brattleboro area.

Would prefer to have someone on the premises 24/7. When the wi-fi did not work, I called the "emergency" number on the info sheet in the room. No real person available. Thank goodness the situation was able to be sorted out just in time by a "live" person. It is convenient, the room / bathroom are nice, but it would be better to have someone available in person.

Perfect for a stay in downtown Brattleboro- clean, comfortable, and convenient to shops and dining. The theater on site was an added bonus.

A historic and unique hotel in a town with great character. I'd be very proud of the Latchis if I lived in Brattleboro.

We love staying at the Latches mostly because of its perfect location. The rooms and baths could use updating but we knew that from previous visits. However, the heat was difficult to regulate. It was terribly hot even when turned to the lowest setting and the windows slightly open.

It was a unique and interesting experience, everything was retro and it took me a night to get used to it. It grew on me, I’ll return!

Historic hotel in a central location-- easy walking distance to many shops, restaurants. We loved the deco interior, be sure to check out the theater.

Centrally located in wonderful Brattleboro. Walkable to everything. Friendly staff.

When we first arrived, someone who appeared to be a manager, immediately chastised my wife for stepping beyond the “wait here” sign for checking in….ALTHOUGH there was no one else in the lobby. A sign like that isn’t the norm and I had no chance to even point it out to her while we were entering the lobby encumbered with much luggage. Honestly, for my wife’s sake, I stayed polite and kept my emotions in check when I wanted to tell him what I really thought.

This hotel was just what we needed: a simple, clean, comfortable room where we can sleep and get on with our visiting family in Brattleboro. It was just fine, and when we return, we will stay there.
