Staff need more training on how to welcome, direct and inform guests about protocols

Terrific location and super clean accommodation - basics only. Double bed is akin to an American Full. Recommend as a great base for Montreal; also strong wifi!

Some one robbed me , wallet with credit cards , almost 1000ca and they never made the police report, no much security in the place. I found a better place by du parc avenue. For sure never gonna stay again in this noisy place, no privacy, looks old , much better places around montreal and almost same price.

The room looked nothing like the photos. The bed was a futon.
The remote control did not seem to affect the heat, and it was an unusually cold night.
Staff was wonderful. It was a lovely hostel ...but it is not a hotel.

Great location, good price and friendly staff. The sheets could have been cleaner, but the rest of the space was tidy. The walls were a little thin and there was some construction outside our window. I would not recommend if you are a light sleeper.

the only issue is the number of bathrooms. 2 bathrooms for 40 people just isn't enough lol

Friendly staff, clean and bright common area.

No entry into the building. Waited for hours and some one let me into the building. I called and was told that the property had been sold. I had to look for an alternate accommodation at $545.09 a night. Terrible experience.

I love everything about this place. The staff are so friendly and there is everything you need on site. The only comment I'd make (not a complaint) is that I arrived close to 1 AM, and I would have really appreciated having access to a towel on arrival. After 12+ hours of travel, I just wanted to have a little wash before bed.

Very friendly staff, esp the kitchen man/chef. Nice place to stay, but not ok with the shared washroom.
Parking is bit hard on the area.

I thought the staff were very helpful and friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and the rooms are well kept! The roof top patio is awesome at night and it was overall a smooth experience. My only comment is on the breakfast that is offered. There are pretty much no real options if you are dairy free. Of course, there is fruit and stuff but it would have been nice to have at least the option to have a milk alternative or have the pancakes be plant-based. Because there was only dairy, and I really dislike black coffee, I couldn't even have a morning drink. I opted for a boiled egg and after one bite I knew it was bad, and so I was left with no options for breakfast. Perhaps a little more attention and care to the breakfast that is offered would go a long way! Still - I WOULD recommend this place to others. Like I said - it is clean, the staff are friendly, the space feels nice, now just upgrade the breakfast offered and this place is all set!

Fantastic clean inn in an old building. Rooms upgraded with new air conditioning. Breakfast included. Note however that there is no elevator so handicapped people will have a hard time. Toiletries are not provided. Room 210 where we stayed does not have enough hot water pressure in the shower. Cold water pressure is enormous. So unless the water is opened only a trickle, only a cold water shower can be taken.

Great location and offers a safe affordable option for anyone.

There were no private bathrooms or showers. This was an expensive youth hostel, not a hotel. A lovely place, but people need to be aware that it is NOT a hotel. Parking is HORRIBLE in Montreal, so stay here only if you are car-free.

The area was great

Service is excellent, everybody involved was very kind and helpful (in both languages!), and there was a good variety for breakfast.
They give you a towel; shampoo and soap are extra. The lockers in each room are quite small, for valuables only. I didn't get a fantastic night's sleep, though this was to be expected.
Lights-out at 11 pm is a bit jarring: that's when the patio closes, as well as the kitchen/lounge on the 1st floor. The only common space left is a couple of chairs on the 2nd floor, so it's difficult to get any work done at the end of the day.

The room was fine. Nothing fancy, but clean and neat. The bed was a little uncomfortable. The area was very good with lots to see and do. Parking was a hike. There is absolutely no parking in the immediate area. The area was very walkable with lots of good restaurants within a couple of blocks. Overall it was a good experience.

It was a cute hostel, the layout of the room was unique and interesting, the beds were comfortable, and all kitchen amenities you can think of are available . The staff is very nice and I would definitely come back again

The manager is racist. Very bad attitude.
According to his colleague, this hostel actually accommodates a lot of university students who live there for months at a time, you still have a bit of everything but the dining area becomes a school area at one point and it can be very annoying for guests who don't want that.
This is misleading because it's not mentioned the hotel's description.

Great location; we had a private room which was clean and bright. Only two single toilets on our floor.

Great place to stay if you are on a budget. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Good breakfast and common areas, clean rooms and bathrooms. The guests are really diverse as well - from the expected 20-something backpackers to families and older individuals. The location is good, although there are a number of heavy trucks on the main road between about 5 AM and 7 AM, so if you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend requesting a room at the back (on the side street).
I booked a private room and had a really good and comfortable stay. I'll definitely stay here again.
