The Adoba is a 1950's style hotel, completely and totally. If you are charmed by that era and seeking a comfortable, clean room this is a great place to stay. If you are expecting 2000 era room, look elsewhere. This place could charge for their historic atmosphere IMO!

The room was clean

There was minimal staff. No coffee in the morning. There were not enough towels. Remote was missing. Had to call and wait for staff

Walls are too thin, you can hear everything around you, facilities are pretty old. Room looks like it was recently updated

IT WAS A PLEAST SURPRISE

One of the bigger mistakes I've made booking a hotel. Rooms do not get services. At all.. You have to take your own garbage to the dumpster, out back. Way out back!! If you want clean towels you will need to ask for them. I put the "Please Make Up Room" placard on the door handle, and removed it after 3 days when I realized they were not going to "Make up" my room. Bathroom does not have an exhaust fan, so I'd venture to guess there is mold growing somewhere from the shower.

My stay was GREAT! I loved the room, it was very homey and wasn’t old looking. Big fridge and even a microwave in the room. The bed was SOO comfortable!

Ships are right there across the street! Lots of great places to eat and convenient to any place in town

very noisy people above me all through the night.

Clean and comfortable beds. They were having trouble with internet service but let us know service staff was working on it.

Great location. Could watch ships going through the Locks from our window. Didnt like not having motel staff on site after mid-afternoon. That was very inconvenient.

Was a very disappointing stay at the Adobe hotel, definitely a one and done.
First of all there is absolutely NO view of anything but a parking lot and a bunch of cars, even though the website says a park view.
Our cottage room was very
small and uncomfortable, cold damp floors, no rugs , no shower/tub matts not even a dormat ! And there is absolutely NO closet or dresser drawers for clothing, I don't think they want you to stay more than one night.. The worst part of our stay was the smoke alarm that kept chirping thru the night and then went off at 3 am scaring the crap out of us and when I tried to reach the office no answer, they never called me back!
And it was a hard wired alarm so we couldn't even take a battery out to stop it!!
Needless to say we will never return back to this place again.

Clerk was 'having a bad day'. Took my AARP card for the discount but ran my cc without giving me the discount. Heater in room dn work. Table with 1 chair. Carpet was disgustingly filthy. No counter space in the one butt bathroom. Walls so thin I heard the person in the next room snoring all night. Free breakfast we didn't take advantage of. The bfast area, in the hotel lobby area, was so so small with limited options and only a few tables to sit. Only good thing was location.

Great little cabin near the Soo Locks!

While the property was in a very convenient location, it is very run down. When the heater started it sounded like an engine running in the very small room. There was a small hand towel as a bath mat and it looked like nothing had been updated for 50 years (not kidding). It was clean and the staff was very nice. There was a vending machine outside our door on ground floor that ran all night and we could hear that in our room as well.

Our stay was wonderful, but the parking was a little cramped. They need to make more parking available somehow. Otherwise, very pleasant place to stay and very close to the locks!

My stay was great. As a solo older traveler I found it to be fantastic for me. The only thing I would suggest is to put weatherstripping around the doors. Might save some money. But anyway the staff was very helpful, managed to extend my stay by a night, and as the staff was closing she stopped to get me a few paper plates from the breakfast area.

Room needed a good dusting spider and bugs in windows

Breakfast area is the size of a bedroom. Small metal patio table IN THE ROOM. No way to hang clothes. Not even a dresser or hook on a door. No place for toiletries. No phone or alarm clock. $250 PER NIGHT IS A RIPOFF.

This is a nice property right across from the Locks

Property convenient to locks and downtown, walkable. Restaurants close by. Bathroom in double queen cottage extremely small and uncomfortable. Had to sit sideways on toilet. Hair on floor and in shower. Most scratchy, small towels I have ever experienced. No drawers or closets/shelves to unpack clothes. Friendly staff. Between adjacent attached cottage there was very little sound insulation.

Front desk clerk was very friendly. Excellent service. Very walkable with a bunch of shops and restaurants, and the locks/park right across the street. Not fancy, but decent and fairly updated. Weird: Brand new pillow top mattresses, but no mattress pads - just the sheet. (??). Heater is pretty loud to run at night.

Good place to stay. Restaurant next door. Beautiful park across the street where you can watch ships going through the Soo Locks. Coffee shop just down the block. Some noise from ship's horns blowing after midnight. Overall a nice place to stay at a low rate.

Parking is a little tight, and the breakfast area is quite small, but it is excellent otherwise! Really enjoyed the cabin and the breakfast!

The little cottages are clean and quiet. Pleased they let us park here the morning we were checking in versus having to pay for street parking.
