If all you want is a superficially cool hotel in a central location, this is a great hotel, but don’t expect a good night sleep on the very budget mattresses or be able to ignore the sound of a jet engine taking off coming from the air-conditioning. And if you are unhappy don’t expect the staff to help they will politely smile and say ‘yes’ but won’t actually do anything to remedy any issues. A truly terrible experience from start to finish. Avoid at all costs.

The bed didn't have a blanket, it took multiple requests to get one brought up, even then it was just a duvet insert and not an actual blanket. This is a big deal. I never though I would have to check ahead of time to see if a hotel had basic bedding.
I called the front desk a couple times and no one answered, I had to go down in order to speak with anyone.
The floor was concrete, this might not bother you but I found it off-putting and uncomfortable and cold. If the room had slippers it might have been ok, but it did not. I asked the front desk if they had some, they said yes, but they never arrived to my room.
The other problem was when I found a giant cockroach walking across the floor in the middle of the night. They offered to move us to another room, but at 1 am who wants to move rooms? They comped our valet parking for this.
Say what you want about bugs, but I have an expectation that if I am staying at a nice hotel my room will be clean and free of bugs. We had to check all of our luggage and shopping bags to make sure we weren't bringing anything home. If you've ever dealt with infestations, you understand how stressful and expensive they are.

The hotel was in a great location, was beautiful and people friendly.

Our room was spacious and quiet. Walking distance to many nice restaurants. Price was reasonable, dog-friendly. Valet parking was a bit chaotic during check-out (it was a busy Sunday- it took about 20 minutes)

We had a fabulous stay. The staff was warm and welcoming, each area of the hotel were clean and cared for.

I loved the vibe of the hotel and the decor. The downsides were…I booked a junior suite at a premium price and heard loud music coming from the courtyard until 11:30pm. Additionally, the bed and pillows were not comfortable.

Lobby is spacious and welcoming. Lots of room to work. Do NOT stay on the second floor - the rooms are on top of the restaurant and very noisy. You can hear the music early in the morning and late at night until 10:30pm. Rooms are clean.

Comfortable enough stay. The location is conveniently located downtown.
Experienced delays during check-in as our room wasn't ready. Avoid the courtyard view. You'll be peering into the windows of people at work and vice versa. Bring a pillow from home.
Breakfast spread was good. On-site restaurant had good drinks but food was just okay.
Overall stay: 3.5 - Comfortable Enough. Would not splurge for suite next time.

Great atmosphere and really a splendid lounge area.

The hotel was ok no complaints, look like they are improving the rooms. The floor was concrete with an out dated rug over top. The bar was horrible service and very rude, seem like they only wanted to cater to upty type of people

The staff was personable and the room had all of our needs. Plan is to make this a quarterly as a staycation.

It was odd because the time I spent here previously was perfectly fine.
This stay I arrived early, the front desk agreed to message me when the room was ready. That did not happen. After calling to get a status only after the standard check in time had passed I was able to confirm the room was ready.
During this time my card had been run for what I thought were incidentals however it turns out there was an error and the card was actually charged for the cost of the room. I was passed to multiple people to have this corrected. It was also shared with me at that time what hotels.com was receiving for the reservation vs the cost of the room and what I paid. That was uncomfortable.
When we arrived at the room the mirror in the bedroom was cracked. I would have thought something like that would have been replaced or removed. It felt like I was staying in a cheap motel room.

Situated in a fairly quiet area, despite the college-age population from GWU close by, this hotel is billed as a luxury hotel on hotels.com. It’s got funky decor in the lobby, great tile in the baths, but concrete flooring in the rooms with area rugs under the beds. Not my idea of luxurious. Bedding was thin, pillows firmer than I like, and the mattress was not a pillow top. Personnel were top notch, very friendly and accommodating. When we reported a non-functional mini fridge in the desk unit that is the work space (the fridge is a drawer in that unit) a standalone unit was quickly brought in. There is one restaurant for breakfast and lunch: Call Your Mother, serving tasty bagel-based dishes. The seating area becomes the dinner restaurant, Mercy Me, which serves delicious “sort of South American” foods. The hotel gives one $20 credit per booking to spend on dinner which paid for half of one meal on our two-person dinner tab. Plenty of other restaurants within easily walkable distance though. We had fabulous dinners at Founding Farmers and Chef Geoff’s. Tatte Bakery is just across the intersection and has great choices for breakfast or lunch.

The carpets were not clean and were not vacuumed

This was a very nice hotel experience with a friend. we were able to enjoy them ambience of the music, the bar, and have breakfast at Call Your Mother Deli the next morning without ever having to drive. The perfect combination of edible amenities. We enjoyed the decor throughout the hotel. We parked in the garage across the street which was slightly cheaper and not a far walk at all. Our dining room credit came in handy and we were able to use it for bar drinks. We didn’t expect our room size to be as small as it was however it was just two of us and no a huge burden. The shower was a little odd as it was glass but doesn’t have a door, the drain is also flush with the floor so we had a lot of leakage even with the towel down. The staff was friendly at check in and even held our luggage for free on checkout day when we wanted to just relax and eat from CYM. I would love to return here.

Everything is amazing so far, my only complaint is that the app said the resort fee was 30 and I got charged 80 at the hotel.

We booked this trip earlier this week and I prepaid. I got an email from Expedia saying that I will owe $60 when checking in. When I got there, they charged me $80 but told me I also had a $15 dining credit that I could use in their restaurant if I billed it to my room. When I checked out this morning, I didn't see a credit and they also charged us another $25 'convenience fee" on top of the restaurant bill. The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable but I will not be returning as there were a lot extra charges that I was not informed of ahead of time.

I loved the look and the hotel and the amazing staff. As an allergy sufferer, I did not like that guests were permitted to allow dogs to sit on the hotel furniture. It was dog hair everywhere which discouraged me from eating in the common area.

The property had a nice Vibe, and the rooms were well-appointed and cozy!

The room was very unique, clean, and peaceful. We really enjoyed the restaurant and the bar area. The back room feels as if you stepped into outside and into another world.

For the price it should include breakfast and there are too many surcharges.

The property looked nice. The issue I had was there were so many dogs in the lounge, dining room, and the cafe. My fault for not reading this a pet friendly hotel. But gross nonetheless. The staff was cool. Nice place to take pictures. Don't bother with the restaurant, terrible food and terrible service. Definitely hit the bar, great drinks.

We were give or take 10 min from any restaurants that we went to. The room was smaller then i expected but it was cute. Everyone was kind and the service was good

Loved the retro feel & having a bagel store right next door! Everything is so central.

Loved my stay here at Yours Truly! The hotel is beautiful with an eclectic and artistic design. Def a top tier experience. One little itty bitty thing I didn’t like was the shower. Not an intuitive design choice. Please update to also include a traditional shower design with a shower door! The overhead design is not reasonable for a black girl like me who doesn’t want to get her hair drenched. So thankful that they provided a shower cap upon request. Overall, yes I would stay here again!
