Great location - quick walk to beach and restaurants. Fresh croissants in the morning, snacks, and pie at night. Very comfortable beds and linens. Very nice staff.
Coffee machine did not work. Should add a sheer curtain - could not have windows open because pedestrians could see right in. Dogs barking in room next door.

Amazing stay, very comfortable, staff very helpful and friendly staff. Homemade pie in the evening? We will definitely stay again. Very short drive to Pismo Beach.

Full kitchen, lots of room, quality snacks, hot tub in bathroom, 2 rooms for all guests to enjoy gathering as it was the middle of a heavy rain and wind storm. Due to concerns about flooding, there were no restaurants open in the town. The complementary evening appetizers, snack baskets, and homemade pie filled in for that. We did have some breaks in the storm to walk on the boardwalk. Beautiful interior!
The weather!

The breakfast was great for me, my wife is gluten free and it did not suit her.

They spoil you with extras - croissant and coffee for breakfast, wine & cheese for happy hour and pie & ice cream at 8pm - as well as a welcome basket. And the staff is so nice!

Tv and remote we don’t need much, but the ability to not even change the channel is a little ridiculous. Also, the walls are extremely thin. There was a very active couple in the next room. I’m sure you could’ve heard them all the way out in the lobby.

I love the fact the it was personable, having snacks, tasting desserts and a welcome basket. The room was pricey for us, but I guess I can understand why. The staff was so friendly also. The only thing is the drain in the bathroom smelled, so we put the bath mat over the drain so we won’t smell it. Almost sulfur smell?
I honestly felt spoiled and I wish other hotel/lodges were like yours.
Read above. Just the smell of the drain, little like sulfur smell.

What a beautiful hotel. We had a small kitchen in our room. And there was a large bathtub with water jets. Wohoo! We thought the staff was very friendly. And we enjoyed the complimentary events during the day, especially the wine and snacks in the evening.

Everything was amazing. Greeted by the awesome staff upon arrival, there were free drinks and snacks in the evening, snacks in the room, pie and ice cream at night, breakfast and nachos and beer at noon. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean and cute. The beds were comfy and the amenties top notch. Close to everything and a parking garage. Highly recommend and will definitely be staying again!

This is a beautiful hotel. The staff was very welcoming, and our room was a good size and comfortable. We enjoyed the pie offered at night and the croissants in the morning. The hotel is wonderfully decorated and in the perfect location for easily walking down to the cute beach front shops!
The shower could use updating.

The room was beautiful and omg the juccuzi tub was everything so relaxed and loved the full furnished kitchen it had and staff was super nice as well as the complimentary wine and cheese platter and welcome basket and goodbye present.
It was hardly a breakfast mainly consisted of just different breads not a true breakfast and for the price I was expecting a bit better and the bed could have been a bit more softer and better as well as the blankets and literally was watching tick toks that had music in them but quite low on my phone and got rigned at barely 10pm to lower my music even thou it wasn't even playing music but just on my phone so found that quite rude that others were supposedly complaining of loud music when that wasn't even the case

Nice touches included welcome food/drinks basket. Also, really thoughtful “charcuterie” platter and bottles of wine each night. Another sweet :) touch was pies between 8-10pm each night. I was there for four nights and had the pies twice. Unfortunately the dough was completely raw underneath and didn’t improve the second time I had it (I did very politely mention it one morning but obviously they didn’t listen).
Before I list everything, let me just say that I am a really nice person (hello, I’m Canadian) and therefore I didn’t complain about any of these things because nothing could’ve been done about them, while I stayed there.
1. The bed was so soft it was practically a U shape.
2. There is a low and loud humming noise that comes from the bathroom vent and the hallway which was really awful in the dead calm of night. The door to the bathroom has wooden slats so there was no keeping this noise out.
3. The refrigerator was also very loud. Both this and the above caused me to have to wear earplugs which, in a quiet place like Avila seems crazy.
4. The decor was really “faux” and outdated.
5. The carpets in hallways were very old and dirty as was the carpet in my bedroom.
6. The portable air conditioner was jammed against a bizarrely large and ill-placed fake leather lounger and in order to turn it on (again, crazy loud) you have to contort your body to get at the power button.
7. The shower head(s) were corroded and gross.
8. There is a parking garage underneath but I was quite surprised to see that there’s no security - so that anyone could just walk in down there - and have free access to the various floors in the hotel. This worried me.
