Being itchy. Everything else wasn't bad. People seem nice.

This is the worst accommodation I ever stayed at in my life. Avoid!
There were signs of bed bugs all around the furniture. The bed and pillows were disgusting. There were blood marks on the duvet, someone was clearly bitten by bed bugs. I could not sleep all night. These guys almost ruined my holiday. Don't go.
The place is filthy. The bathroom was disgusting and I couldn't use it. The people you have to share with were intimidating and I heard some of them were homeless. I did not feel safe. They say you can pay to store your luggage in a secure place. It's not secure, it's a room that anyone can enter.

Dustin is amazing ! Staff are super friendly. Never a dull moment.
Overall great facilities and super affordable.
I always love having my own room, but for a share facility it was pretty great.

It was quiet and it was comfortable enough for the short stay.
I had no light in the space I was at and no power to charge my cell phone with. They’re where at least 2 people coughing forever. I also sadly got 6 bites on my left side, my arm and face.

The staff is friendly. The somewhat open floor plan is cool. Bed was comfortable. And even though the car parking was quite full, could pull in my car for the night. The ambiance is cool. Especially the lawn out front and the inside decor.
Got bit by insect at night on my hand and above eyebrow. . Bathrooms are small and hard for women especially. Even by hostel standards. The fridge space is quite tight for all the residents combined.

The location close to the beach is nice.
It was so complicated to make the car gate code box working properly (10 min to success with help of the staff, twice).
We checked in at 5pm, the bed was not ready, and we got the only pod with no TV, shelf nor light, for the same price... Why ?!
It was below 50°F outside, and the windows of the bathroom were open all night long, it was very cold inside and the only heater was a small fan in the middle of the big room... So useless.
Finally, no curtain to have a bit of privacy... We don't understand why.
The only positive note is that there was a music live concert in the yard this night but that's it.
We will never come back to this place for sure.

Great location, fantastic staff, comfortable beds and friendly guests.
pillows were clumpy and I would have liked a curtain for a little bit of privacy.

Location is good once you find it. Walked to bank and United States of Espresso. No bfast. Water with lemons, a basket of small apples.
Way too Difficult to find in rain and dark, even having stayed here once before. Google maps switched which Venice St, Way, Blvd, N and S did not label Washington, probably would be confusing to people who needed much bigger Washington Blvd.
Alpha gets to sleep, snoring beyond what earplugs could block, showing off his nipples, almost under a pile of blankets. In the morning I requested and was given a blanket by Yazz and a bed away from the cacaphony.. Thank you!.
Another Alpha just bought a building he always wanted, was here to oversee some repairs that
had started, but mostly I wished I had been able to sleep.

there was free fruits and vegetables, cucumber water, activities, and a shared cupboard of spices, pasta, and coffee. I liked how it was co-ed, and the showers were amazing.
maybe implement a sheet that can drop down or some curtains for more sleeping privacy.

Big bowls of fresh fruit. Flowers and trees. Great looking recycled wood walls. Seemed like a labor of love by an owner who never wanted to be embarrassed showing the place. Each pod was big compared to an ordinary hostel bunk bed. Diverse bunch of people getting along. Staff were friendly, helpful and cleaned a lot. Weather kept changing over 3 days so sometimes no one was around, sometimes a full house.Night noise wasn't bad using earplugs. Bus connections to LAX, union station, Santa Monica and beach, Walks to beach, coffee shops, restaurants (Urth Cafe, Holy Grail and Santa Monica Samosa House) and Abbot Kinney shopping. This is the first time I wasn't ill at ease feeling like Venice Beach was just a little too grungy a la Bukowski, and addicted.. My mother had a better attitude towards Venice Beach than I did. This trip I like it and I think staying at Pod was a big part of my attitude change.
Beds are high. Had to use rollator like a step ladder to get into bed and I am not especially short. Price.

The location was good. Relatively close to the beach. The bed was comfortable.
When I arrived, the staff was so high that they couldn't give me basic information, like how to enter the gate. There was also a constant problem with my debit card, which has worked in any other facility.
The whole building smelled of weed which wasn't pleasant to me as I'm allergic to it.
The dorm is made for more than 30 guests, which was apparently too much. Felt like a prison to me, with so many people in one space and bunk beds. There was supposedly some idea behind it, but it simply didn't work. Two shower cabins that gave no privacy and two toilets, of which one had a broken door lock, were not enough.
The first night I slept well. However, I had to use earplugs.
The second night was way worse. Ear plugs were not enough. Some guest from the bed next to mine screamed, snored, and cursed loudly. Finally, it turned into a quarrel with another guest, after which the aggressive guest left the building. However, I left too, after the comment that if I didn't feel safe, I should have gone to sleep in my car. I admit that it was fair that I got the refund for the second night, but owners should work on procedures in case things like this happen again.
