Beautiful house. Beautiful view of the lake. Easy access. 2 minutes from the supermarket. Clean. Plenty of room for a family of 7 (or more).

The house is wonderful. The living room furniture has been updated since the photos I saw when booking. Great location- on the water and near restaurants, Chimney Rock and grocery store. The cove where the home is located is calm and peaceful.

We had a fabulous time at this amazing property. Clean and just as advertised. We loved having access to the kayaks and paddleboard. We also chose to rent a boat for part of our stay and were able to have it tied up on the dock. Highly recommend this property for on-lake access.

Four siblings, 2 brother in laws and adult niece and nephew stayed in the house. It was nice and big and accommodated us all well. There are only 2 issues that we had with house. First a hand rail at the main entrance of the house would be nice. and the second would that the cleaning people need to move the couches in the first floor living room. Something rolled under the couch and we when my husband went to retrieve it the condition under the couch was shocking. Food, dust, empty Gatorade bottle.

I’ll begin this review by saying we’ve stayed at dozens of high end properties around the country and this one was fabulous in many ways. The location on Lake Lure could not have been better. It had easy access to a nice grocery store and gas station (< 1 mile) and plenty of restaurants. The town of Lake Lure has a great little beach area and marina and the town of Chimney Rock is a fun afternoon of small shops and of course hiking to one of the most amazing views in NC. (5-7 miles away).

great vacation!
Lake Lure is a wonderful location for doing anything you want! It offers great outdoor activities, easy access to shopping and exploring and wonderful clean lake water.
Our stay was terrific, the house provided so much room for our family of nine (including three teens). we brought all our own paddle boards and thoroughly enjoyed the water everyday. We fished from the dock and spent hours visiting and enjoying being together at water side. It's a friendly cove with a combination of renters and permanent residents.
We would definitely return!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The location was quiet and tucked away (a little alcove off of Lake Lure). The house was perfect for our family of four adults and 3 teenagers. The teenagers loved having the downstairs all to themselves. We only experienced two minor hiccups; the code for the key box sent by the property management company was wrong and the upstairs oven didn't work, but the owner was very responsive and gave the new code and offered to have someone come to look at the oven the next day; we declined as there was a working oven downstairs. The outside boat house dock was perfect for taking in the water view and the inside of the house was very clean when we got there. The kitchen was well stocked also. We appreciated how the house was close to all of our excursions (Chimney Rock, Zip Lining and Hickory Nut Brewery), We will definitely back.

What a fantastic property! We absolutely loved the layout of the house (which was very clean and well-stocked with everything you might need). The location on the lake was absolutely perfect for our three year old, who was always safe in the water tucked away in a cove. We will be back!

Grandma's Christmas gift
We absolutely loved everything about this house and Lake Lure. The location was perfect. We were close to everything and there were a lot of things to do. We went hiking, took the boat tour of the lake, went zip lining, took a family picture at the top of Chimney Rock and also at Pearson's Falls. We enjoyed Hickory Nut Gorge Brewery which was right on the river and also Burntshirt Vineyards which has a beautiful view of Chimney Rock and the falls. The house itself was perfect for us. The 5 teens stayed in the lower level with a pool table and kitchenette. The big draw for me was the living area with 3 large leather couches that fit all 10 of us. I have nothing negative to say about the house but I would caution anyone with small children. There are a lot of stairs. Two baby gates were provided. I highly recommend this house.

Great House For A Getaway
We celebrated my mom's 80th birthday here. We had 5 adults and 3 adult (in their 20s) children. There was plenty of room for everyone The downstairs, with three bedrooms a second kitchen area and, most importantly, a pool table, was an added bonus. It was a cold wet weekend in December, so we spent a lot of time it the house and there was plenty of room for everyone. I can imagine how much fun this house would be in the summer. It's in a great location on the lake. The owner was personable and accommodating. NC had a snow storm the week before we came and the owner called to let us know the house was ok before we arrived. I'd definitely go back and stay in this house.

We were horse showing in Tryon, and got completely rained out one day. The beaufiful views and cozy living spaces made our rainy day so much more enjoyable!

Lake Lure last minute getaway....
We enjoyed our stay at this home. We wanted to have one last "hurrah" before my kids school started back up. The home was in a great location in a cove on the lake. It was a pet friendly, lake house that met our needs well. The only reason I did not mark it a five star was that it needs some basic updates, for example, the roof on the dock needs new boards/wood as some feel corroded and at least one chair needs to be replaced. However, with that being said, we had a very nice stay. It was quiet for us, we grilled most meals, and swam/paddle-boarded, kayak most of the day. We also rented a pontoon boat which fit on the dock nicely for the duration of our stay (highly recommend this). The home had a lot of seasonings, and other things needed for cooking our meals. There is an Ingles Grocery Store very close by which was nice. It was an easy going, relaxing vacation. I would recommend this home to others interested in a nice, quiet, relaxing getaway.

Nice, well stocked home
Overall, the house was wonderful! We have been to numerous vacation homes and this home by far is stocked better than any other as far as appliances, utensils, towels, etc. The boat house was wonderful as well. We did lose power for 10 hours during our stay... thankfully it was at night and the house stayed below 75. Just was unable to use our baby monitor for little one. Although this was due to a mudslide/power outage. We also brought a boat for our use with us... mistake. They charge $550 to put in and you have to have proof of $300,000 liability insurance just to put a boat in! Just wanted to put that out there in case other renters have the same idea. We live on a huge lake in SC and it is free to put in so I would have never assumed the fees would be that outrageous... again that is NOT a review due to this home. Home was great!

Large lake front home in great location.
We had a large group. This house has plenty of seating and sleeping, a great location, and a great view. The house was clean and we'll maintained. Would definitely stay here again.

Great lakefront rental home!
This was a great rental! The house is in excellent condition, and is better equipped than any other home rentals we've experienced in many trips to Lake Lure. The boathouse and dock are in good shape equipped with kayaks and a standup paddle board. The entire outdoor living space was very nice. The house is situated in Tryon Bay Cove which is a perfect place for kids to swim and for paddle boarding. The neighbors in the cove are very friendly. Also was nice to be right around a the corner from Latkins on the Lake for a drink or meal and very close to Ingles for groceries. Would definitely recommend this house and our family plans to stay here again. The owner, Dan, is very responsive and easy to work with. He was quick to help when any issue came up.

Great place for Great times
This is my first time using VRBO and I was skeptical that I would find a good place for a college reunion. I was completely wrong. This location is located on a quiet section of the lake and had all the amenities you need for large groups. I will definitely bring my family next time.

A Christmas Reunion Escape
This home was very comfortable and accommodated everyone nicely. We particularly enjoyed the pool table and the master suite. It is conveniently located and I love the fact that you can walk to restaurants. Asheville offered many attractions including Grove Park Inn's Gingerbread House Competition. Instead of snow we had shirt-sleeve weather over the Christmas holiday. We really appreciated an owner who would accept pets.

A Little Slice of Heaven
My family and I had an amazing time here, what a great vacation! The house really has everything you need, and after a day or so, we really didn't feel the need to do anything other than hang out there. A very relaxing vacation. Dan made everything easy for us, and was a pleasure to work with. Hoping to come back again this summer...l

Would not lease again
We did not find the property to be of the quality described in the listing. Owner gave us the wrong key box combination for entry which created a problem when we arrived after dark in the rain. I specifically asked about parking space for a trailer and was told yes there was room - there was NOT and we had to haul it to Asheville 45 minutes away to store it as the home is on a very narrow one lane, one way street with limited parking. We had issues also with what we call "waterbugs" on the coast - a large type of roach in the main floor bedrooms and bath. Also it would only take 5 minutes for a maintenance person or housekeeping service to sweep dozens of huge spiderwebs away from the porch/deck patio area of the lower level - it looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. There is a pool table but not a full set of equipment to play with so it was useless. Satellite service for tv viewing had poor reception and extremely limited, basic number of channels so as there is no internet provided be prepared to bring your own dvds. Overall this rental was very disappointing for the substantial monies we spent.

Fun times were had by all (ages 86 to 23)
We chose this beautiful home to return to Lake Lure with our family. It is described accurately and we all enjoyed our week there. The house is modern and comfortable. There are lots of stairs down to the dock, but they are built well and easy to navigate. The cove is quiet and we spent lots of time in the water without worrying about boat traffic. We also rented a pontoon one day so we could tour the entire lake. (the house comes with one kayak, one child kayak, and lots of floating devices)
Our outings were to Chimney Rock, Little Bradley Falls, and the Biltmore Estate, but most of our time was spent together in this spacious home.
As a family of 12, we would have liked to have a dining room table big enough for all of us to sit together. That would be my only negative comment. The kitchen is on the small size, but well equipped. There is a wonderful grocery store about a mile away and we found every ingredient we needed, including fresh produce.
The one way circle drive to the property is lightly traveled so taking walks was easy, but hilly. We met nice neighbors during our walks.
I would definitely recommend this home. Owner Dan was easy to work with.

lovely vacation home
We are from the west coast and this was our first trip to North Carolina. We joined family for a week long stay. This is a lovely vacation home, as the pictures show. The location on the lake is great as it is in a secluded cove ( no wake zone) so its very quiet. Definitely a family friendly area and the (huge) grocery store is minutes away. The house is very large, open and roomy. The air conditioning works very well and we were comfortable. All of the rooms are spacious with bedding/towels well stocked and clean. The kitchen has all the necessary items for cooking, which we did a lot of! There is a BBQ outside. There are stairs ( just to know, a bit steep if you have any in your group with mobility issues) down to the lake and a lower swimming dock to jump off for swimming. It was great to have the pool table downstairs. There is also a 2nd kitchen downstairs. The house is close ( 5 & 10 min drive) to 2 rental places if you plan to rent a boat for the day. It is approx 10 min to chimney rock and 1 hr drive to Asheville. All of the rental arrangements with the owner were very smooth and we would gladly stay here again! What a neat place!

Amazing, Peaceful, Exceptional
I never write reviews, but I was so pleased with the quality and location of this rental I felt compelled. It far exceeded expectations. We enjoyed a family gathering at Lake Lure the first week in August and this lake house provided room, privacy and amusement for all. The property was clean, modern and esthetically decorated. The kitchen, which is where we spent a great deal of time if not on the lake, had everything you needed. All of the bedrooms were suitable, but the master suite was wonderful with a large bathroom and jacuzzi tub. The bottom level bedroom suite was great for the younger family members, and we all enjoyed gathering down there for late night games of pool. The location of the house on the lake was perfect in that it was on a small cove off of the main lake that was protected from wake but it was easy and quick to access the main lake by kayak. We loved our stay at this beautiful house and would return again and again :)

Great Accomodations at Lake Lure
We stayed at the property mid-April and the whole trip couldn't have been better. House was beautiful and well equipped for a long stay. Clean comfortable beds, wonderful kitchen and living space, and tremendous outdoor areas. The house is located back in Tryon Bay where parking could be an issue but there is off street parking for 3 here. Quiet and secluded but you can still walk to a restaurant/bar (Larkins) in 5 mins. Rented a boat both days and you can pull right up to the boat house. If you are looking for a place to rent on LL for 4-8 people I can't imagine anything nicer! Thanks Dan!

Wedding Reunion
My wife's best friend got married at Rumbling Bald a few years back so every year we return for a reunion at Lake Lure around this time. This is the first time staying in this area and we had a great time. This house is close to Ingles, the resort, and the ABC store. Good spot in the bay to fish and really quiet cove. The only thing that went wrong was the internet did not work which is ok as we spent most our time outside. The house was beautiful and the pool table gave kept us busy late into the night.
