Very nice spot for snorkeling and diving

Für den Preis hätten wir uns mehr erwartet.

Die Lage ist super (wobei auf Gili Gede die Lage letztlich überall gut ist, weil es so klein ist). Das Personal war auch sehr nett. Das Essen war sehr lecker und es gab einige vegetarische Optionen. Auch war es super, dass man sich Schnorchelequipment etc. ausleihen konnte.

Bei der Ankunft hat uns eine kleine Einführung mit Infos gefehlt, denn während unseres Aufenthalts mussten wir uns alles erfragen. Außerdem war das Zimmer nicht sehr sauber. Während unseres Aufenthalts (4 Nächte) wurde auch nicht saubergemacht bzw. wir wurden nicht gefragt ob wir eine Reinigung oder neue Handtücher möchten. Im Zimmer gab es keinen Mülleimer - auch hier: niemand hat uns erklärt, wo wir unseren Müll am besten entsorgen können. Das Kayak war leider kaputt (im Boot selbst ist ein Loch und das Paddel ist kaputt) und daher nicht nutzbar. Außerdem hat der Chef teilweise etwas abwertend/überheblich über sein Personal gesprochen, das war nicht so angenehm. Wir haben mehrere Unterkünfte auf Gili Gede getestet und waren vom THD im Vergleich recht enttäuscht - insgesamt war das Personal nicht so aufmerksam wie in anderen Unterkünften und die Ausstattung, die wir uns gewünscht hatten war nicht richtig nutzbar. Was uns hier genauso wie in den anderen Unterkünften auf der Insel gefehlt hat: Tipps zum Umgang mit den Korallenriffen! Direkt an der Küste sind überall Korallen, da muss man sehr gut aufpassen wenn man ins Wasser geht dass man diese nicht zerstört; außerdem sollte man unbedingt korallenfreundliche Sonnencreme nutzen oder sich einen Wetsuit anziehen mit dem man sich gar nicht eincremen muss. Hier wären ein paar Hinweise im Hotel zum Umweltschutz super!

Good Vibes & good snorkling

Es war noch schöner als auf den Fotos, ein wahres Paradies, mit 4 nettes Häuschen direkt am Meer, wahnsinnig nette Angestellten und Guides und ein sehr leckeres Restaurant. Schnorchenausrüstung kann man sich gratis leihen und es ist vor dem Haus direkt ein Reef in dem wir wahnsinnig viele Fische gesehen haben. Auch gibt es immer gratis Trinkwasser und die australischen Besitzer:innen sind sehr nett. Man kann tauchen und schnorcheln gehen und alles was das Herz begehrt.

Perfect and beautiful location to relax and to enjoy watersports with lovely owners and staff

The High Dive is run by Nigel and Lisa - wonderful people that will do everything to make you feel at home. It is perfectly located in the south of the island and has a reef that can be explored right in front. The owners are very helpful in any way (organisation of diving, snorkeling, sailing etc) and put strong emphasis on running the hotel in an ecofirendly way. As such litter is being collected and all thrash is brought back to the mainland. The staff as well is amazing. We will definitely come back.

Great value, excellent hosts

Great location, very chill area of the island. Staff were really friendly and helpful with boat transfers, including getting to and from the island. Good breakfast, cold aircon, and right in front of an area to snorkel. A great chill spot to hang out with my partner and enjoy doing nothing at all. Overall would stay here again!

The water pressure was a bit low in the shower, but all their water is brought in daily via boat, so I appreciate why this occurred. The blinds in the rooms left some gaps around the windows, would have preferred a bit more privacy.

Everything about this little resort was amazing! They only have four rooms meaning it’s nice and intimidate. The owners are lovely and welcoming and the staff were fantastic as well

the position was fantastic, bungalows opening up onto the sand and lovely to hop into the water and snorkel and then relax in a hammock or on a day bed. Staff and owners dilligent and nothing too much trouble. Rooms spotless. Snorkelling days excellent and staff flexible and determined to give you a great experience plus available to take you to other islands for lunch. We were there for three days which was long enough to relax and enjoy.

A wonderful, tranquil experience with an amazing team!

My girlfriend and I went to The High Dive back in February and had such a wonderful experience. At the time, it was the end of the rainy season and we were the only guests in the hotel, but it also seemed like we were the only tourists on the island. It was so calm, peaceful, and relaxing. The hotel itself and the restaurant/terrace area is beautiful. We had one of the beachfront bungalows and it was really great. Warm, stylish design, big comfortable bed, a ceiling fan and A/C, plus a spacious bathroom. Everything we ate at the High Dive, whether breakfast or the main menu, was delicious! The highlight of the experience here for us was the staff. The team is mostly local from the Gili Gede island. They treated us with such warmth that it felt like we were hanging out with friends and it meant that the overall experience had a very personal feeling. They helped teach us some of the local language but otherwise could speak English well, so we felt very comfortable. We didn’t actually Scuba dive, but did a snorkelling trip for 1 day and loved it. We saw some beautiful, colourful coral reefs, had lots of fun with the crew - stopping on a nearby island for a snack, fresh coconuts, and Lombok coffee was really special! Otherwise, contact with Lisa was always quick, friendly, and easy - she was really helpful and made us feel very welcome!

beautiful place in very quite Gili Gede

The bungaloves are beautiful and comfy. very nice common area around the bar and great food. all staff was super nice and helpful. they can organize snorkeling for you or any boat transfer you need.

the beach is not the nicest and it’s not good for swiming. air condition does not work well. you cannot walk around the island comfortably.

Great place!

Perfect place to spend your time on Gili Gede. Great facilities, like free Kayak, paddle board and snorkles. Clean bungalows. We booked a dive, wich was perfectly arranged. Staff was very kind and kid friendly, also good service. Would definitely recommend this place.

A quiet island paradise, wonderful staff, colorful reefs, clean bathrooms and delicious food!

Newly revamped, the owners have made this place feel like a home away from home. The perfect relaxed island vibe. The rooms are perfect, equipped with ac (wooho) the bathrooms are clean, with a modern finish… not your typical island bathroom! The staff and owners are so accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure we have the best stay!

The resort is very close to paradise and is highly recommended.

Excellent location on the beach, room was very clean, staff attentive and the food was excellent. Overall High Dive exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend and I will return. Fantastic value for money.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Beach front rooms had an amazing view. Clean and better then my expectation. Air conditioning worked great at cooling down room effectively Shower had clear hot and cold water. Bathroom was very nice. Great communication during arrival through book.com and WhatsApp. I had already organised driver and boat, though was able to communicate. Very helpful in organising boat and driver for departure and a good price. Would definitely stay again.

Low on food/drink stocks during low season. Beers were a little on the warm side.
