Lovely house in the most beautiful location. Perfect place to discover Paul valley

The location is absolutely gorgeous. Rooms are really clean and spacious. The owner is the most helpful, giving advice of the area, helping planning routes and hikes and organizing transport in the best way for all the hostages. Breakfast is delicious and having dinner made with local products altogether sharing about the day and hikes was lovely. Highly recommended

My favourite guest house in Cape Verde!

Very friendly staff. The communal meal was lovely - great to meet fellow travellers, and the food was really tasty. The location is incredibly beautiful

The shower was cold, and the location is 15 minutes walk up a steep hill. Perfect if you like hiking in the area, but expensive and awkward if you want to visit places outside of the Paul valley.

Wonderful stay in Paul valley!

The place is AMAZING, the view from our window was beautiful and Caitlin was super helpfull! The valley of Paul is amazing and Casa das Ilhas is a perfect place to enjoy it!

Amazing location, ordinary accommodation

Nice place, just beware - you have to walk up a steep slope for 15 minutes in order to reach the accommodation. The host was very nice, although her english was not very good and we have to change to french in order to get the information we needed. They have a selectionf of maps and routes - some are more precise than others - but you get the idea to where you can go for a hike. Its located in the Paul valley, so its a good starting place if you want to walk up tha valley or take a car up the hill and walk down (but the taxi is 45euro, bus its significantly cheaper, but no direct connection, so you have to change lines 2 times). The rooms were small but nice and clean with a good view. The pool was out of order. The food they offer (breakfast, lunch as a picnic and dinner for 1100escudos) was good and amde from local ingredients, but very basic and not a big portion. The closest shop is not very close, so if you want to eat there it's better to buy something before - you can buy water, beer, juice and some sodas there, but if you want some snack you can have only chips and peanuts. Overall a very nice and peaceful place with a beautiful view, but if you want to do a lot of hikes I would reccommend to opt for something closer to the main route, like Ribeira Grande.

The food could come in a bigger portions, the english of the personal was not very good. The beds were extremely soft.

ONE of the best Accommodation.

Beautiful View Very Nice Staff You can go there without any Plan and there you get all Informations and Contacts you need. Good for traveling with children. (crib and Highchair

You have to go up 15 min up the Hill to get there It's not direct on the street. Don't worry they get your stuff up. I think their are People they don't like to go up But for all Hiker it's a nice way up and the best location you can find.

Beautiful nature location, ideal for hiking. Very good value.

We loved the location. It is a 10 minute walk from the road (the owner can arrange for your luggage), which adds to the nature experience. The owner is a spontaneous woman who makes you feel instantly at home. Joint dinner option (warn in advance if you are vegetarian).

Some of the rooms are out of WiFi reach, but who needs the Internet with such a beautiful view (good WiFi available in the common room).

Great stay! Would highly recommend it!

The location, the view from the room, the breakfast as well as the dinners were really good! Also very gentle staff. It is good to have WiFi in the dining room only to disconnect well in such an amazing location.

We were not told the price of the dinner, which we found a bit overpriced, but I mean there are no really other options close by and it was really good, so fair enough.

The place to be in Paul

Incredible !!! The view and the remote area give this place a wonderful insight the valley of Paul… The rooms are very comfortable with a private terrace (and you have hot water). The breakfast included is really incredible with fresh and homemade food. The diner is not included but we really recommande it because of the hike. Katlijne was absolutely lovely, sharing with us her best tips for the hikes and always happy to share her story with you… Thank you ! / Merci ! / Dank u Katlijne !!!

if there was something to say, it would be that more plugs would be nice in the rooms

The Lady of the House was very helpfull. She explained every detail of the day trip. Suggested the places to stop, to eat, to drink coffee. The dinner at Casa das Ilhas was also very good.

Casa with View

The views are spectacular. The Casa is located near many hiking trails and the host knows these walks well. She is very helpful in planning and organizing your activities. The communal dinner (not mandatory) is a nice opportunity to share experiences with other guests.

The walk up from the road could be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues but the Casa send staff to help with luggage.

The stay was truly spectacular. The views and the facility are amazing. Breakfast and dinner is also nice. Katelijne is a great host. She provided laughter and helped with any questions especially hiking. I would highly recommend for anyone to stay here. It has been the best place, I've stayed so far in Cape Verde!

Great hiking center in Paul.

Well worth the price with a beautiful view from the room, Kate gave us the best service and great hiking suggestions. Lunch-packs can be provided on request as well. The place is in the center of many hiking trails so we stayed 5 days with different hikes every day. Nice breakfast with home made yoghurt and fresh juice and fruit is served everyday. If you want you can also have dinner served but they happely suggest other places to eat. You live in small houses in a beautiful garden. You meet many people to talk hiking experiences.

Picnic provided could be improved. The bread was often dry. Dinners could be more varying with different spices and herbs. But combining dinners in house and other suggested places the food is in total all right.

I stayed at Casa Das Ilhas with three friends and we absolutely loved it. The location was magical, the service was outstanding, the host was extremely friendly and helpful. She gave us a lot of recommendations for hiking trails and even took care of transport to go the trails. The beds were very comfortable and the room was really dark and quiet. Paradise

Katelijne is an extraordinary host! She juggles all the logistics, meals, tours, transfers, while addressing each guest in their native language! You will totally feel at home here. The location is like paradise, surrounded by mountains and green and a great spot to explore the Paúl valley by foot. This is absolutely the place to stay on Santo Antão!

Not really a con but just something to be aware of: the house is a 15min uphill walk from the road. They will help you with the luggage though.

If you want to feel home @ the most beautiful island of Cabo Verde, do not hesitate no more! Asthoning stay with a great view on the Paul Valley - managed by great people. They advise and assist you greatly in planning your stay at Santo Antao. Also, the food is just wonderful. Highly recommended for individual travellers, friends, families with children!

The location is great, such an amazing view. Really a little paradise. I also loved the small school on the same location which made us feel we were in the middle of the community. Everything well arranged for hiking. Great advises by the staff.
