Albeit a brief stay this time, Lucca was charming as ever.

Location was good, near the end of a main shopping street. Lucca is a beautiful city, wish we had more time. Residenza was comfortable,clean.

Not the best experience. Air conditioning did not work.

Federico was very responsive and explained how things were in the house. The house is well located in an area with several cafes, restaurants and bars. The apartment was very well equipped and had everything we needed.

There were mainly three things we didn't like: - The bathroom was not very clean. Perhaps it was cleaned very quickly but it really didn't smell very good. - The house smelled very musty. Since it was July and it was very hot outside, we didn't want to bring the heat from outside, but given the musty smell, we preferred to do so. - The air conditioning did not work. We tried all the options and it did not work even with the fan option. So we had to spend a very hot night, especially since the room is on the first floor where all the heat rises.

Terrible

The AC did not work for the first 24 hours and the temperature was 34 C, almost 100 F. The host was rude and offered us an open bottle of Prosecco with just 1/3 left as a compensation without even asking if we drink, I have to asked him to bring us a portable fan because his only explanation was that the technician did not show up the day before our arrival and that I have to understand his situation. He was more concerned about us leaving the tourist tax than about our comfort. Fernando, the host, has no idea of how to be nice with costumers, he is arrogant and only care about money. This morning when we were leaving another person name Simone went to see as go and also was concerned about whether or not we left to 10 euros tourist tax that we did. This has been the worst experience I have had using booking I have used booking for more than 8 years.

Excellent city, excellent people, excellent apartment apart from the Aircon.

Almost everything about this property was excellent. Really couldn’t fault it apart from one thing that I have explained below. Lucca is one of the most charming cities on the planet with lots of really good quality restaurants and very reasonably priced.

The one issue we had was that the Aircon was not working efficiently. We arrived on a Saturday and the temperature was very hot, we switched on the Aircon and thought we would give it at least a couple of hours to get to work. After two hours it had not really cooled the apartment at all. I messaged the owner and to be fair to him, it was a weekend so didn’t expect him to be able to get it fixed straight away, but he did say someone would be there Monday to sort it. No one turned up. When we checked out on Tuesday he said that he couldn’t get anybody now until the Wednesday, so we had three nights of not really sleeping as temperatures in the apartment were over 28 degrees. If the Aircon had been working properly I would have given this review a resounding 10

No free parking as stated. Air conditioning did not work.

The overall cleanliness was excellent, except there were two separate issues with bad odour.

Unfortunately there were two areas in this apartment that actually made me gag from the odour. The first was when entering the apartment in the ground floor. The wall to the right of the front door upon entry is damp. This gives the downstairs room a bad smell. The bathroom had a distinct smell of urine at all times, even though it was perfectly clean and made it unpleasant to use the bathroom.

Superb

The apartment is well equipped, very roomy and comfortable, and is in a great location close to restaurants and cafes. Perfect base to explore the region.

Excellent location, very central, but also very quiet. A relaxed comfortable stay.

Instruction on accessing the property were not provided. The names on the gate were different to the booking name, a bit confusing

The Hidden Gem of Lucca (and Tuscany)

Everything was so immaculately done. The cleanliness was exceptional, and the decor was beautiful. The host was super helpful and generous. I forgot to leave the tax fee the morning of, and he generously covered it for us. My wife loved the setup, and has already asked to come back as soon as possible. If we return to Tuscany, we are heading right for Lucca, and hopefully back to this gem. The attention to detail of all the amenities, the organization of the kitchen, the impressive shower, everything came together beautifully. If you want a masterclass in combining antique charm with modern comfort, this is it.

There was nothing not to like. One small note- on first entering at night, I didn't realize there was a step immediately when you walk in, and without the lights on it's impossible to know. Recommendation - don't be like us and arrive late.

Very comfortable providing an ideal base for exploring the old town of Lucca.

It was ideally located. It was clean. It was well equipped.

Difficulty finding it. No name on property. Unclear at first how to get in or how to locate owner. Contact with owner was last minute.

Ground floor apartment in the heart of Old Town Lucca

The location right in the heart of the Lucca walls was very convenient. There was plenty of room for 2 people in the apartment. It had most of the amenities you would need, including a Nespresso machine and a washer.

The bed was very hard, and the furniture could be updated. Adding another chair in the living room would be helpful. A toaster would be nice as well.

Room is in the back house in a nasty Garden. It would be with great effect to make this backyard a cozy place with ambient light and a table. A place Wit potential, no doubt.

beautiful apartment great location

I purposely booked our Italy trip to have parking & breakfast everywhere we stayed. this apartment was advertised as having both. there was NO parking available (apparently have an agreement with a lot in town - but we didn’t know where it was) breakfast was advertised as a “buffet breakfast”. it was actually a very tiny basket of pre-packaged cereals & biscuits, a tiny milk, & a tiny juice. not nearly enough food for 4 people for 2 nights. I had also previously told the owner we were planning to use the bikes - there were only 3 at the apartment and 2 were completely unusable ;flat tires, wobbly tire). I didn’t fine the owner very helpful, although some difficulty was definitely due to us not speaking Italian.

Exceptional

Spacious and beautiful apartment right in the city centre! Nice interior and a balcony to the closed inner yard, no noise from the street. Easy self check in, the owner was kind and also helped to get a cheaper parking spot for a night close to the apartment.

Beautiful, cozy with special touches

Beautiful apartment and a wonderful comfortable bed. The breakfast basket was a lovely addition and apartment had everything we needed for our stay. wish we had longer stay here what really enjoyed the time. Would recommend for anybody for a lovely stay in Lucca. A good location right around the corner from a craft beer and wine bar Where everybody enjoyed communing outside even in the winter.

an amazing apartament where you can feel like at home

location within the walls of Lucca is perfect and close to many bars and restaurants. the apartment had everything we needed and the interior styling was amazing. with free parking close by it was perfect

I would stay her next time I'm in Lucca. Great value.

The location is fantastic with the major shopping street 4 doors away, a great deli, quiet with a nice courtyard and balcony when the weather is warmer. The washing machine was nice. Very clean.

The outlets in the bathroom and bedroom are different which makes using electronics a little cumbersome. The living room could use more furniture and a rug to make it really useful as a room.

Great place tobstay

Really great spacious apartment with everything needed for a few nights stay, very well kitted out and the breakfast basket and milk etc in the fridge is a really nice touch.

Unfortunately when we were there the bikes weren’t in a state to ride them

This appartement is very well located within the walls of Lucca, and it is just a beautiful!!! Federico is extremely nice and met us at the parking spot to hand in the keys. We loved staying at Lucca, all was perfect! The bonus was the free bikes that came with the booking of the parking spot. Will definitely stay there again when staying in Lucca!!

Go for it!

Excellent quiet apartment in the city center, excellent walking accessibility to all the necessary points, as well as tourist places. The flat is full equimented, has a small wonderful balcony and a 2 stages. Thank you very much Federico for your kindness and responsiveness, for your help!
