About this house rental
Situated in Swannanoa, this attractive house for £279 per night is a great option for your next break. Come to Knob View Retreat and enjoy a relaxing vacation in this beautiful home with beautiful views out every window. The home has 3 bedroom suites, each with private ensuite bath and closet, perfect for the extended family or couples who enjoy vacationing together. Two of the suites have direct access to a covered porch to enjoy the refreshing mountain air and views of those glorious sunsets. There is also a large hot tub on the deck with mountain views. The hot tub is professionally maintained weekly by Hot Tub & Spa Specialists of Hot Springs. The house is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains at 2900 feet elevation within a small mountain community containing only 7 houses on 70 acres. Privacy abounds and so does the wildlife. Enjoy a relaxing stay on the porch or drive just 12 miles to downtown Asheville and enjoy shopping and restaurants in the 'Paris of the South'. The town of Black Mountain is just 9 miles in the other direction. Spend a day at the Biltmore Estate (13 miles) or go hiking on any of the miles of trails just minutes away. Want to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway? An entrance is just 10 minutes away. Our house has beds to accommodate 6 adults or combination of adults and children totaling 6 people. With advance notice we can arrange for a crib or pack and play. No more than 6 people. In consideration of Covid19, we've enhanced our cleaning methods to comply with W.H.O. and CDC recommendations as outlined in the VRBO publication: https://www.vrbo.com/discoveryhub/tips-and-resources/improve-performance/clean-disinfect-guidelines We have 4 security cameras as recommended by our Insurance Co. These are exterior cameras only and there is no interior cameras whatsoever. We have 2 ARLO cameras monitoring the parking area and 1 Arlo doorbell camera. (It allows guests to quickly contact us if they have difficulty entering the property upon arrival). There is a 4th camera mounted on the upper deck that looks across Bee Tree Valley and is used for monitoring weather conditions. Loved the house and location. Well appointed and CLEAN! Perfect for three couples - each had a bedroom and a private bath. Hottub was great in the evenings! We will return in warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor areas further!!!

Not only did we enjoy the amazing views, comfortable beds, hot tub and every amenity you could hope for, but ease of access to all Asheville has to offer was great, too. Great weekend with our young adult children to gather for Christmas! Amazing views of the mountains. Loved that it is private and secluded yet close enough to enjoy the Biltmore, Asheville and the cute town of Black Mountain. Was decorated nicely with a tree and Christmas garland/lights. We did lots of cooking and baking and loved how the kitchen had all that we needed and more! Owners have gone above and beyond to provide all that you could possibly need. Highly recommend this property!

This was the most comfortable, clean and beautiful home we have ever rented. The owners paid attention to even the tiniest details that made our stay fantastic. The beds are all extremely comfortable with lots of pillows to choose from. Asheville is fun and there are other small towns close by like Black Mountain that are great for shopping and dining. The golden sunsets against the mountains were breathtaking. We enjoyed the views from the hot tub every day. I wanted a peaceful vacation where I could snuggle by a fire, read, and be cozy with my family and this home was perfect. We can’t wait to return!

This mountain home has it all. Along with the amazing view and hot tub, Steve really thought of everything. He had a complimentary bottle of wine, space to store our food materials, 3 bedrooms with attached bathrooms, and a really cozy gas fireplace. Everything about this house was amazing. It was so quiet and peaceful- it is by far the best home I’ve ever stayed in.

This house is a dream! This was a girls trip to celebrate a 60th birthday and we could not have been happier. It has everything that you could possibly need. The kitchen is so well stocked and organized. So many amenities, very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect and the view from the deck is unbelievable. We came back to the home each evening to watch the sunset and use the hot tub while enjoying a glass of wine. Our host Steve was amazing! He was quick to respond to questions and all of his recommendations were spot on! We highly recommend this home!

Our Super Hosts’ meticulous attention to detail meant more kitchen, bath, deck (hot tub, lots of seating), and whole house amenities than any other property where we have stayed. Heaven seems to touch earth right off the balconies of this house, very high in the mountains and very orivate. Local bear sightings, and some outside the house, but we safely kept our distance and enjoyed them. We stayed here in Swannanoa and made the short drive to Asheville, Black Mountain, and stops along the Blue Ridge Parkway. An all-wheel drive vehicle is very helpful to navigate the stone-covered drive up this gorgeous mountain. We stayed here 6 years ago and traveled over 850 miles to return— the views are THAT GOOD! Unique that all 3 bedrooms (one downstairs) have their own en suite. A rare gem of a property. Enjoy!

Knobview Retreat is the nicest home we have ever rented. It is not only beautiful and spotlessly clean with amazing views, the hosts have provided so many little comforts like good bedding, a fully equipped kitchen, a grill, hot tub, games, a full spice cupboard, laundry room…I could go on and on. Communication with Steve was outstanding. The photos just don’t do this home justice, it is so lovely and light filled. We are glad we brought our 4Runner to navigate the road to the house, it is very steep but we mastered it and even saw the neighborhood bear a few times. This was a wonderful place to call home during our time in western NC.

This property was absolutely perfect for my friends and me. The location was great. The views from the porch and hot tub were breathtaking. The house was beautiful, clean, and perfectly stocked. The owner was so wonderful to work with. He gave us fantastic recommendations for hikes, restaurants, and more. I can’t say enough good things about this home and the surrounding area. I will be back for sure!!!

We could not have asked for anything more during our stay at the house. The hosts have thought of everything, from baby/kid equipment to binoculars to flashlights by the bedsides, and they have even labeled all the light switches. The views are grand, the hot tub was hot, and we enjoyed playing family ping pong in the driveway.
It does take ~12-15 minutes to get to a main road and the house is off of a dirt road, so we only left once a day to enjoy the surrounding areas (AVL 20-30 min away) and took our time driving into and leaving the house.
Truly, not a bad thing to say about this place when you want to get away from it all!

We loved the house and wish we could stay longer.
The bedding was so comfortable, we slept like babies and didn’t want to get up in the morning. We had a minor issue with the bathroom plumbing which was fixed immediately after notifying our host Steve. The ride up and down the mountain was a challenge and actually made the experience more fun. Thanks for such a wonderful place and we hope to come back again next year.

Beautiful house that has everything. Kitchen is fully stocked with anything you can think of…they had it all. Three private bedrooms each with private bathroom and nice size closets. Amazing views from bedrooms and balconies. Great hot tub that we took advantage of each day/night. We felt very comfortable in home. Owner was great with communication starting with check in and during stay. Only a short 20 minute drive to Asheville or Black Mountain. Very quiet and peaceful location on top of mountain. Only 10 minutes to a very nice Ingles grocery store. We definitely plan on staying again!

A great property and would stay there again. The road to get there is a little challenging , but since the weather was nice we made it just fine. It is a drive into the Asheville action, but we enjoyed staying outside of it all. The views are absolutely amazing and made for enjoyable cocktails at sunset. The host is easy to communicate with if needed.

The best vacation home we’ve ever stayed in. Love the labels on everything and fully stocked with all supplies you need. The streaming options and jacuzzi were another highlight. One of the nicest rentals we’ve had, ever. Property was in great condition, private, beautiful views, and convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Family friendly too - daughter enjoyed a nearby park w/ playground and the wildlife center. The ping pong table was a nightly routine. Host was a great communicator.

This property and the manager are incredible. The views were breathtaking - you feel absolutely alone on the mountain. The hot tub was exceptional. EVERYTHING you need was there and labeled for easy finding. The host went above and beyond to share hidden gems, trails, and activities. We had a great time on our girls weekend! We really enjoyed the hot tub and the views are beautiful! We went to Asheville for the day and it was a short drive, 20 minutes or so. The house was very clean and had everything we needed.

This is the best vacation house we've rented. The house is in excellent condition and had everything we needed. All cabinets and light switches are labeled so it's easy to find anything you need. Steve provided great suggestions for activities, breweries and restaurants, including a Google map with everything located on it. We needed assistance with something while at the house and Steve replied right away. We would absolutely rent this home again.

We had a reunion of 6 of us, plus one local, arriving from all over the country. The cabin was absolutely delightful. Comfortable beds, lots of sitting areas inside and out, and stunning views. This cabin was one of the nicest mountain cabins we've ever stayed in. It was very well furnished with high-end finishes and extras. We loved the back deck and views and enjoyed playing ping-pong. It was so nice to be able to visit and talk in this relaxing home after a day at the Biltmore House.

Our Thanksgiving stay couldn’t have been better! Knob View Retreat is, above and beyond, a beautiful home with breathtaking views in every window. This house is very clean, organized, and well-appointed. We appreciate all the attention to detail, from labeling the lights/kitchen cabinets/trash & recycling, to directions on how to work the remotes. The beds were extremely comfortable. My family enjoyed coffee on the deck and relaxing in the hot tub. There is no need to bring bottled water because the mountain water is amazing!
Steve was very responsive and went above and beyond… from letting us know that we could check in early to sending me a list of great places to eat…and then to making sure we were able to watch our college football team. Thank you Steve for your hospitality.

The property is beautiful. Everything is well stocked for any needs you can think of. The bed in the master is the comfiest I have ever slept on. The views are indescribable. We were able to get to property without any issues in our little Kia. It was a absolutely perfect stay and would definitely book again in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Knob View Retreat. Location is convenient to groceries, and all that Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway offers. The house was very clean and well organized, with cabinets clearly labeled to easily find whatever we needed.
