IN DETAIL: fascinating and very particular attic of 63 square meters obtained from a careful renovation of one of the ancient attics of an Art Nouveau building dating back to the 1800s, which marked Trieste considerably also on an architectural level. Its interior is bright and airy thanks to the generous heights that reach up to 6 meters in which pastel colors prevail with a maritime style imprint to remember the roots of the city itself and to enhance the beautiful glimpse of the sea that can be enjoyed from the bedroom. bed. This separated from the living room is deliberately made romantic thanks to a comfortable canopy bed, the fireplace on the wall and the modern bathroom inside with a large hydromassage shower. In addition, the generous heights have allowed the construction of a small mezzanine that gives the same room a delightful and original appearance. The open-space living room, as well as the mezzanine, still maintain a contemporary style that aims to make its guest feel like a traveler in the "Center of the World" and always on the move thanks to the colorful trunks and suitcases, the giant map and the different time zones found in hanging clocks. The equipped kitchen, the warm atmosphere of the pellet stove on, the music and the guide books in the apartment will instead allow you to stop and relax on the comfortable sofa / bed to fully savor and fully experience the MittelEuropean culture typical of Trieste. Everything will be made even more special and enveloping thanks to the beauty of the ancient beams and stone walls brought to light and enhanced by warm lighting. In all the rooms, rough wooden boards are placed on the ground; natural materials have been used and the original doors have been preserved in a perspective and for a personal pleasure of the concept of recovery. The first thing you notice about this apartment is how thoughtfully the space available was used. Some thought went into designing and outfitting this apt. and it shows. No space is wasted, and it's all conveniently at hand, giving the impression that there's more room than the numbers would indicate, and making it easy to move about and relax. Speaking of which, its proximity to the railway and bus stations, as well as the no. 6 bus to Grignono/Miramar, is immediately apparent, and when it comes time to leave for either it's a short DOWNhill walk. Same for the two supermarkets nearby, and there's no huge hill to trudge up returning with your groceries; the rise is moderate at worst. The best thing about this apt. is its shower, a welcome respite from the tiny cubicles Europeans stuff themselves - and their incredulous foreign guests - into. This one occupies about the footprint of an American bathtub, and holds a 7-head vertical shower that pumps out the H2O. The bath containing the shower, sink, and bidet is complemented by a half bath with another sink and the head, which requires some skill to navigate. The kitchen is properly equipped with an induction cooktop and compatible cookware, and the oven, micro, and fridge all work well. An electric kettle provides boiling water in less than a jiffy, and Natasha very kindly ensured that there was ice on hand for my arrival cocktail and briefed me on the few things to watch out for. The living room boasts a very comfortable couch to watch TV from, and the TV has excellent cable, with multiple HDMI inputs and many available stations, so bring your Chromecast and Fire Sticks if you want to watch some American TV for a change of pace. There's also a beautiful, wood cabinet Blaupunkt stereo hi-fi, and you can tune in stations from all around the world if you know how. The bedroom holds the queen bed nicely and comes equipped with lots of closet and drawer space. A double-paned window opens onto the street below and gives a glimpse of sunsets, and effectively shuts out noise when both are closed. Upstairs from the bedroom is a small study loft, which makes for a quiet cozy retreat and provides "space" when you or your traveling partner(s) may need it. Note that while this building has a lift, you need to take stairs to reach it and the apt, since the lift only goes to the penultimate floor. However, even with my bad knee I didn't have any problems, and I would definitely stay here again.
