Located in Carolina Beach, this lovely house for £183 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Seize the day at the beach! This Becoming rentABLE certified wheelchair accessible beach rental is fully furnished and you won't forget you are at the beach in this brightly decorated space. Relax in this wheelchair accessible property that features a zero step entrance, elevator, 36" wide doors thought out, wheel-under vanity sink, grab rails in shower and toilet area, shower chair, roll-in shower, hand held shower head, and hardwood floors and tile throughout. Durable medical equipment is available to include: twin electric hospital bed; hoyer lift; bath chair and property toilet seat. Our property is truly a one-of-a-kind wheelchair accessible home. We now have a beach wheelchair for all renters to use. Located in the heart of the Carolina Beach, this unit is directly across from the lake, only two blocks from the beach, and just as close to restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, and tourist attractions. This second floor rental has two-bedrooms, two-baths, living room, dinning area and kitchenette and has all you need to make your beach vacation awesome. On the balcony you can hear the ocean waves and you're less than a two-minute walk before you are in the sand or enjoying the waves. For your convenience, the local fire department, located blocks from the house, has free beach wheelchair rentals. Within blocks, you are in the midst of great restaurants, outdoor family movies, a Saturday farmer's market with local one-of-a-kind gifts, a family-friendly accessible boardwalk with a Ferris Wheel, rides for tots and music for adults, homemade ice cream and scrumptious hot donuts, the aquarium, and Fort Fisher. Take surfing lessons, go scuba diving, fish in the waves, walk miles on the beach, enjoy the fireworks on Thursday, or do absolutely nothing but worship the sun! It's all here for you! If you are looking for more to do, you're just a short drive away from the Fort Fisher Civil War Museum. You can also visit the North Carolina aquarium located on the south end of the Island or take a ferry ride to Southport for a day trip. There are also many top-ranked golf courses nearby, and historic Wilmington is only 20 minutes away. The thriving port city of Wilmington has the Historic Riverfront District with its unique restaurants, shops, walking tours, bus ride tours, carriage rides, and riverboat cruises. The property was just as pictured, walking in through the garage are wonderful items to look at for purchase! Every room was decorated so well! I believe the favorite decor was the red octopus in second room! The keurig never worked for us, however we failed to let the host know, the bed also did not raise and lower, so we just stacked an extra pillow. The only other issue was the carpet in the living/family room should be replaced it’s seen better days. However, this is a magical place with a great location! We didn’t bother reporting anything because we were too busy having a great time!

When this says accessible...it means wheelchair accessible. The shower, the hoyer lift, the elevator, the beach chair, the wide doors. It was perfect for my 21 year old daughter in a wheelchair. My 17 year old daughter also loved that she got her own bunk beds and how close it was to the ocean and the lake. I was able to keep up on our laundry so that i wasn't overwhelmed and the Hang Ten Grill that was within walking distance made take out super easy. I would definately return!

This house was amazing for my mother who is on a walker 10% or in a wheelchair 90% of the time. This home was accommodating and warm. She was inspired to try to move around more and this house made that possible for her. When we make a return trip, we will be renting this home again.

The house is very pretty, decorated nicely and is roomy! loved the tilework in both bathrooms. Mrs Lorraine has the sweetest neighbors. Very close proximity to dining and beachcombing, close to the boardwalk, nice park that is visible from balcomy.

This adorable rental is eclectic yet elegant. Owner Lorraine, a peach, has created the ideal space for travelers in wheelchairs - an elevator, enormous tool-in shower with shower chair, a hospital bed & lift, wide hardwood floors, and more. Located on a beautiful street only 3 blocks from the beach & across the street from a lake it is in an ideal setting. Many activities and good restaurants nearby. We have never experienced better accommodation & accessibility in all of our travels. Cannot recommend this listing more highly.

This is the third year we've come to Lorraine's Hakuna Matata, and every year has been a wonderful experience. We have a special needs adult son who is confined to his wheelchair and hospital bed, and Lorraine makes it possible for families like mine to be able to relax and enjoy our time together. We have use of the adjustable hospital bed, the European style wet room, the elevator and a beach wheelchair. The accomodations are always clean, and Lorraine is available to help with inquiries and needs that may come up.

Carolina Beach - Lorraine's Hakuna Matata
This is the second time we've stayed at Lorraine's Hakuna Matata, and we were again very happy with our stay. We have two special need adult children, one with multiple handicaps (including physical). It is such a blessing to have a place that already provides a hospital bed, Hoyer lift, roll in shower (actually a European wet room), and elevator. The accommodations are always clean and the decor is fun. Lorraine is such a sweetheart, and helpful with local information. We're looking forward to our next visit.
