About this house rental
Situated in Sussex County, this lovely house for £389 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. The Yellow Submarine is the perfect house at the beach! and RATES HAVE JUST BEEN LOWERED for May and EARLY JUNE! The first level is an open floor plan (smart TV, dining table (seats 6-8), kitchen island, full kitchen) Best of all...there is a LARGE screened-in porch...a perfect 'room' at the beach! Three of the four bedrooms are on the first level. Two share a half bathroom (small rooms with one double bed each) and the third one (king) has its own half bath and sliding glass doors to the front porch. Each bedroom has its own TV. There is a separate shower room on the main level for all to use. The second level has a full bath, a large bedroom (two queen beds & TV) and a loft which doubles as a living room during the day and '5th sleeping area' at night (queen sleep sofa) The house also has a roll-a-way cot (single) for an extra sleeping spot. The roof top balcony/deck is a perfect place for the kids to hang out or for anyone to enjoy some outdoor SUN time. Enjoy wireless internet throughout the house! Outside. . enjoy the 1/2 acre yard, screened-in porch, picnic table, corn hole, charcoal grill and ENCLOSED OUTDOOR SHOWER! Renting The Yellow Submarine gives you full rights to the PRIVATE BEACH for your entire stay. Middlesex Beach is a guarded beach . . and only those with passes may be on the beach (The Yellow Submarine comes with beach passes!!) There will be no problem finding a prime spot in the sand. The Yellow Submarine is 2 blocks from the beach and you can walk it in approx. 5 minutes. You also have the option of driving and using the parking passes that we provide. Since only those with passes are allowed in. . . there is NEVER a problem finding a parking spot. YOU WILL NEVER WANT TO GO TO A CROWDED BEACH AGAIN!!! The privacy extends to the house and yard too! You will be nestled on a dead end street. . among the trees(for privacy). . . cars do not park on the side of the road. . you can take walks, ride bikes. . . it's nothing like any other place at the beach!! (yet you are steps away from all that the beach offers!! (mini golf, boardwalk, restaurants, stores, etc)) In less than two minutes you can walk to Moe's Deli, McDonald's, Bethany Seafood, Dollar General, a chinese restaurant and more! Spent 11 nights at The Yellow Submarine. My children and grandchildren joined us for a long weekend. What a great family house. Lots of open space, screened in porch was great, very well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and great showers. My grandchildren loved the outdoor shower!! It is like staying in a cabin in the mountains...passing everyday was a family of deer- and a short walk to the beach- best of both worlds. Carol was very quick with responses and the private beach....perfect. Thank you Carol for sharing your lovely beach house!!

Had the most amazing time with family at the Yellow Submarine! The house fit us perfectly and the kitchen was well stocked. The private beach was just a few steps away and made the experience so enjoyable. Carol was super responsive during the whole trip. We will be back next year!

Property is well-kept. Owners are responsive if there are issues. (There were none, but have dealt with a small concern previously). Tremendous location, tucked away in the trees but a short walk to the beach or short drive to boardwalks, restaurants and shopping.

Perfect beach getaway
Yellow Submarine was terrific. We especially enjoyed the large screened in porch after a day on the private beach. It seemed everything was a short walk away. The neighborhood was quiet and the accommodations very comfortable. Well appointed kitchen was also appreciated. This is a great home for a family to enjoy. We would definitely go back.

perfect beach home
Location is perfect. Neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Really only steps to the beach. Its private and you really don't know how lucky you are sitting on that beach until you look at the nonprivate beaches and see the crowds. Plus you feel safe. Lots of families with young kids. Very pleasing to watch them play in the sand.
The house is such a cute home. Theme is beachy and the yellow is soothing. The house stands out in the neighborhood. The kitchen is well stocked. We didn't need to bring anything. Love the lay out. Plenty of room to cook and entertain at the same time. Was able to keep an eye on the grandkids while they watched TV when preparing a meal.
We sat in the porch most of the time. Plenty of space for eating and doing puzzles.
Beds are comfortable. Bathroom showers were fine.
Lots of games and books to keep the family entertained.
Nice yard to play bean bag toss.
Carol was a gem. She was always available however we really didn't need her because everything was in working order.
We will be back. Hopefully next year.

Great property
Great property. Everything you needed right at your fingertips. The hostess let us check in a little early which was so helpful. The loft and 2nd story deck was so fun. Large selection of games and wonderful screened deck on the first floor. Beautifully landscaped. It was a perfect beach house.

Staying at the Yellow Submarine always is enjoyable. The accommodations and location make it an annual trip for our family. We have never had a serious issue, The owner clearly takes pride in the property and was very responsive.

The washer and dryer seemed bigger than the usual stacking unit. There are hooks EVERYWHERE which was awesome, and plenty of seating space inside and outside on the screened-in porch. Check in was super easy and the owners left great directions so we could figure out how everything worked.

Great for a large extended family
We had a wonderful time this year in Bethany, and once again in Middlesex. The house accommodated our large extended family comfortably. Thoughtful touches abound! Laundry soap, dish soap and cleaning materials. We will return for sure.

Keeping this link bookmarked for next time
This was my first time renting through VRBO, so I was a bit unsure of what I was going to encounter. The entire process went painlessly, the owner was helpful and responsive, and the property was clean and well-stocked. We cooked most meals during the week in the house, and ate most meals on the screened-in porch. The house was loaded with rainy-day activities, and even had a few bikes parked on the porch for nicer days. One of the bikes had a flat tire, but we were able to fix it with an inner tube and a tire pump that were both already in the house. The property was walking distance to a bike shop, a dollar store, a coffee shop, a produce stand, and a pharmacy, among others, so we were never far from anything we needed. There's no through-traffic on the street the property was on, so it was great for the kids to ride bikes and scooters we brought. We also brought a router and some laptops to make a Minecraft LAN party as the rainy-day nuclear option for the kids, and we even found a spare cat5 cable in a drawer to work around some connection issues we had with a laptop. The only gripes we had during the week were the awkward kitchen sink faucet (the sprayer fell down a lot until we got used to it), and we could have done without a tv in every bedroom (it got to be hard to control screen time for the kids). That did not overshadow the trip though. All in all, the whole party was happy with the experience, and loved the trip to the beach. This property will definitely be at the top of the list for our next extended beach vacation, with or without the big group.

Mellow yellow!
We thoroughly enjoyed our family gathering and stay at the Yellow Submarine. The layout allowed for family to visit, grandchildren to play and tasty food to be cooked and shared. Loved the screened in porch for family meals. Beds were comfy and with only a short jaunt to the beach, couldn’t ask for more!

Family Beach Holiday!
We're all so happy we could spend a long beach weekend at the "Yellow Submarine" home!!!
Having private beach access just across the road was amazing!! Hate the idea of ever having to spend beach time in the crowds after getting pretty much the whole beach to ourselves all weekend!!! The shuffleboard table was a huge hit with our daughter and the screened-in patio/bar was absolutely perfect.
We were a little bummed out by the oven having an issue while we were there, but the large grill outside more than made up for it and we adapted our meals just fine. Carol was great with her response and the offer of a late check-out was very much appreciated!
All-in-all... a GREAT TIME had by everyone and we will definitely be back in the future!! Thank you!!!

Nice location
We liked the house and location and loved the private beach but there were several issues. Outlets in 1st floor bathrooms did not work. Upstairs bedroom did not cool down at night. Outside needed attention, grass and weeds very grown up, picnic table broken, old chairs sitting around. House to sleep 12 but only had seats for 10 to eat inside. None of the beds were very comfortable. Loved that there was plenty of hot water pretty much on demand but the temperature of the water was too hot, glad we didn't have small children that could have gotten burnt. Wished there was a broom and dustpan. We arrived at night when it was very dark and had a hard time finding the house. Would have been nice if the number was displayed out near the road. Loved the island in the kitchen, that was a nice surprise since it wasn't shown in the pictures.

Enchanting and Perfect!
What a lovely property, and perfect for our extended family, consisting of three families. The house is light and airy, with plenty of little nooks in which to find some pockets of solitude when needed. My kids LOVED the indoor shuffleboard table, I loved the spacious, well-appointed kitchen (it's definitely a cook's dream), and we couldn't ask for a better location. We were daily visitors at the farmstand down the street and over a block, got knocked over by the waves on the beach (nearly daily), bicycled down to the Bethany Boardwalk for Fisher's popcorn and frozen custard, had a crab feast on the porch one night.... It was a perfect summer week at Middlesex Beach. And Carol has been a dream to work with. Communication is excellent and she provides a handy checkout list on the fridge, which made leaving a breeze (though we really didn't WANT to leave!) We've rented three houses so far in this area, and The Yellow Submarine is the best. We've found a keeper!

Yellow Submarine was awesome!
This is our third year staying at Yellow Submarine and it was a wonderful experience all around. The multiple updates and improvements within the house, including a major upgrade with the kitchen, made our stay really fun and enjoyable. As always, the open design of the house with its light filled airy feeling remains a favorite. Its close proximity to the beach and large screened-in porch are added benefits which fit our vacation lifestyle. Already looking forward to next year!

Great Stay!
This is our second stay at the yellow house. We love it here. Carol is so easy to work with and we loved the upgrades to the bathrooms! It's nice and bright inside and close to everything. We cook big meals and appreciate the well stocked kitchen. It's nice that the yard is bigger so we are not right on top of the neighbors. See you next summer :)

We love the yellow house!
Carol - My family had the most enjoyable vacation we've EVER had while staying at the yellow house. With the cool evenings and mornings, we had most of our meals on the screened-in patio. We loved hearing the birds every morning in the peaceful wooded setting. We also loved the two refrigerators, the more than ample parking (we had 4 cars), TVs in every bedroom, the large trash and recycling cans in the kitchen, the private beach access, and the close proximity to the Bethany strip. We truly enjoyed every single minute of our stay! You are a delightful person as well. With all of my many questions, thank you for always getting back to me quickly. We will definitely stay in the yellow house again. : )

the week went by too fast! we all enjoyed middlesex beach and the yellow submarine. we walked to the beach easily each day. the kitchen is open to the living area with lots of counter space. we loved the screened in porch and extra fridge! the indoor showers are new and really nice but we opted for the outdoor shower since it was the beach and we can't do that at home. really nice family area. we will be back!
