It makes an amazing cabin tucked away in a quiet street. The lake is all around you. The oasis of the pathway and hammocks..perfect. The stairs to the top floor can be challenging. The outdoor shower sounds primitive but it too brings you back to nature with fall colored leaves joining you. The cabin itself...just read the hatchet cuts in the hand hewn timbers and you will feel your sense of American pride at what our forefathers carved out of the wild. Already planning out return trip

My husband and I loved this place! It was so nice to unwind and block out all of life's distractions. Mr. Oliver called the night before and told us we could check in a little earlier than expected, which was really nice. He was there to meet us and show us around the property. Everything was very clean and exactly as stated. He definitely has put a lot of time and love into this magical place. He thought of everything anyone could possibly need. We give it 5 stars!

A great place to step back in time and relax. Lots of water activities or lots of doing nothing if you want. Do your research on the area because nothing is obvious.

This cabin is authentic to it’s time, and yet, magically, you want for NOTHING, indoors or outdoors. It was a dream, and we will return every year. LOVED it.

This was our second time staying at the cabin (2021 and 2023) and we had the absolute best stay. The amenities that go along with the rustic elegance of the property are unbeatable. The beds are comfortable, the cabin is fully stocked with anything you would ever need, the outdoor kitchen space is a great addition, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and everything you would need for all the water activities-floats, paddles, life jackets. The front porch and dock is where we spent a lot of our time, and the daytime and nighttime views of the stars are stunning. We rented a boat at David’s recommendation and it worked out great for us. We appreciate David sharing his cabin with our family and are already looking into booking our third trip.

I have stayed at this cabin multiple times with family and alone. It is beautiful and everything you want at a lake cabin. The inside is lovely and comfortable and the outside is really where you want to be, the outdoor kitchen area, fire pit and dock with swings and a slide is a dream. Mr. Oliver is a great host and leaves little touches like fresh flowers on the porch and in the bedrooms. I am sure I will be back.

This is my happy place. The host puts love in every little assept of the property.
A little chilly for water sports and the fishing was stalled due to the unusual late spring like weather.
Can't wait to return in July.

We loved the cabin!! We actually booked a few days in September while we were there. There is many things available for use so you don’t need to bring a lot of extras. The outdoor shower is spectacular. We will be staying here many times in the future.

My stay reminded me if our family cabin when I was a kid. This place is unique and well maintained. Dave takes good care of his guests. Fresh flowers in every room and plenty of perks come with this vacation spot. Not too far from a corner store or grocery stop. And the grill area is well stocked and clean.

We loved our short stay. David makes this small cabin very special. The fresh flowers were an in expected nice touch. The outdoor kitchen was stocked better then my own. Even though it was a little cool and windy we had fun on the paddle board and kayak. The water was still warm enough for swimming. Also having the state park so close was nice. We had a great hike there. I could see coming back here one day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin, although it was way too short because it was just a stop over traveling home from a family event.
Incredible craftsmanship, but updated with modern amenities it wouldn't have had originally. Great access to the lake for a swim and my water dog.
There are so many thoughtful touches; soft fluffy robes, fresh flowers on the porch and in both bedrooms, table linens hidden under the porch table and plenty of toiletries/sunscreen/bug spray in case you didn't bring your own.
I hope to go back for a longer visit in-season so we can really settle in for a true vacation.
Thanks for your hospitality, David!

We had a wonderful stay in this charming cabin. Cool to step back in time to a 1790's cabin, but still get to enjoy the modern conveniences. The house is set in a residential area on a relatively quiet cove of SML. Even though the neighbors were close by, it felt like a private/secluded getaway due to the heavily wooden lot. We loved the fresh flowers and robes that were provided, the rope swing off the dock, the abundance of lake gear (SUP, kayaks, floaties. etc), the well stocked (but tiny) kitchen, and the comfy beds! If you are looking for a quirky, old lakefront cabin with lots of charm, this is it!

Hosts have taken great care to provide everything you need. Amazing what they fit into a small space. And the little extras like fresh flowers in bedrooms and on indoor and outdoor dining tables are so welcoming. It's a gem.
