Recently updated home in Hound Ears resort with fantastic central location. With three bedrooms each with their own private bath, this home also features a two-sided fireplace, WiFi and chef's kitchen to comfortably accommodate up to six with two queens and one king. ACCOMMODATIONS: Main level: Master with king, master bath with walk in shower; powder room Lower level: Second bedroom with queen and private bath with walk-in shower, third bedroom with queen bed and private bath We came to get away from home for a bit. We went snow tubing and ziplining. We drove thirteen hours to get here from Miami FL and it was worth it to enjoy the splendor of winter! We went sledding behind the house, tubing, ice skating and snowboarding at sugar. We enjoyed the cabin so much that we ate all of our meals and spent our downtime here. The small town of Boone and 'Peace of Mind' gave us so many beautiful memories that will forever be treasured. We can't wait to come back! Rustic meets modern in this recently updated wooded retreat located in Hound Ears Club, just a fifteen minute drive to Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. While nestled among the trees, the home has a beautiful view from its upper and lower level decks. With level entry and a Master Suite on the main floor, Peace of Mind is also a great option for those with limited mobility. Featuring a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, the open floor plan of the home allows for a large living room area, where the unique two-sided stone fireplace is ready to light, dining space with seating for up to four, and the best part – a true chef's kitchen with Thermador Professional Series range featuring four gas burners, center griddle and 5.0 cubic feet of oven space. This luxury kitchen has all the accoutrements necessary for the gourmet in your family, with additional seating for four at the bar. Another family room with a half bath lies just beyond the kitchen, where a large flat screen HD television is available to watch the big game or the latest flick, while again enjoying the unique fireplace! Just past this cozy nook is the main floor master bedroom – featuring a king bed with deck access and a large bathroom with Jack and Jill sinks. Downstairs you'll find two additional bedrooms, each with queen beds and private baths, both with lower level deck access, and one with a flat screen HD television with cable access. There is also television nook between the two bedrooms with a cozy couch. Comfortable for up to six, Peace of Mind is an ideal retreat for adult couples, or a family looking for a home that feels private without sacrificing access to local attractions like Tweetsie Railroad and Grandfather Mountain. Stay at this serene retreat during your visit to the High Country, and truly experience Peace of Mind. It is plowed in winter, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are required November-March, and chains may also be necessary to access all properties in winter months. We had a great time staying for new years with our friends and dogs! The house is lovely and comfortable and so cozy for the cold weather! The yard is slightly tough for taking the dogs out to use the bathroom but despite the steep hills, the neighborhood is easily walkable.

The cabin was absolutely perfect for my husband, our dog Shelby and me. This made our daughter's graduation so stress free due to the location of the property to the university.

We had a great stay at Peace of Mind. Beautiful kitchen and main level of the house. Very clean and beautiful neighborhood. Each bedroom having their own bathroom was nice. We will stay again when we come back to Boone!

We spent 5 days on a quilting retreat. Layout spaces are limited in the main room, which provides no television or sound system. Plenty of televisions available throughout the house. Outside deck needs some updating, cleaning and repainting. Downstairs bathroom needs regrouping and drain de-clogger. Also could use an exterminator visit as camel crickets appeared in the downstairs bathroom. Heat exchange has a rough, noisy start and rattles the blinds in the far bedroom each time it runs. The upstairs master bathroom was not cleaned prior to our arrival as they was soap left over from the last guest and hair in the bathroom drain catcher. Again, if peace and quiet are the goal, this is a very peaceful community.

The rental was exactly as described and very clean and kitchen well stocked with all the utensils you need. Gas range was a plus! Description of property and pictures were exactly as advertised! Starter kits with hand soaps, shampoo, and personal care items were a nice touch!

I took my daughter and a couple of her friends for a weekend getaway to celebrate her 16th birthday. This property is perfect for families with teens. They had their own space downstairs where they could hang out and all be close together. The house is in a gated community golf community so it was quiet and secure, and you are less than 15 minutes from the shops and restaurants of downtown Boone. The rental company provided so much information ahead of the trip so I felt adequately prepared, and they were very responsive to my emails when I had questions.

Peace of Mind was a very nice place to stay. The house was updated, clean and spacious. Perfect for 6 to 10 guests. The gourmet kitchen was well stocked. The neighborhood was beautiful. Bring some extra blankets for the bedding if you are cold natured. The house is 20 minutes from Boone and Blowing Rock. We would diffidently stay here again.

We arrived to a disheveled front parking area with random debris scattered about. When entering you find no Wi-Fi, a broken coffee maker, cobwebs in all the corners, soiled clothing from previous guest and broken televisions and pinball machines. The management company had no response to the grievances. It was a nightmare.

We loved our stay in this cozy mountain home. Perfectly situated to visit Boone, Banner Elk, Grandfather Mountain, Linnville, Blowing Rock or Sugar Mountain. The gourmet kitchen was welcoming and made preparing meals so easy and enjoyable. The home was well appointed and had many comforts of home. The listing is fully representative of what you experience. It was clean and came equipped with basic starters supplies too! The neighborhood was peaceful and gated so we felt very secure.
We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the pet friendly accommodations too! We would definitely stay here again. If you are looking for a quiet mountain retreat or a convenient place to stay for hiking, golfing or snow skiing this is the ideal place! Thank you for sharing your home.

Fun times
My husband's dad hasn't been back to the mountains in 20+ years, so to have all of us together in the mountains were absolutely beautiful. The cabin was exactly how it was listed and having the name Peace of Mind is exactly what we experience. Very peaceful and a beautiful place. It wasn't too high up for our mother, even though she wouldn't look down. Our mom is more of a beach person but wanted to come because she knows how much our dad loves the mountains. But the look and excitement on our dad's face is truly something that we will treasure forever. We truly did enjoy everything and our parents took a lot of pictures. At one point we didn't understand why there was no TV in the room where the kitchen is located but quickly found out the reason. That room gave us a time to reflect back as well as look forward to the future, it gave us the time we needed as a family to really be connected to one another through conversation. Thank you again for allowing our family to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Driveway light, a number of the house outdoor lights and solar lights were not working.
Minimal supplies provided, less than described in the arrival document. Partial rolls of paper towels, no soap bars.
Toilet seats for downstairs bathrooms are broken/cracked with the finish pealing off.
Lots of weeds and overgrown plants, could not access the in ground trash cans.
Master toilet not cleaned and bathroom smelled like urine
Mold in master bath shower plus mold on the walls and ceiling in the master bath.
Towel holder in master bath coming off wall.
Kitchen had ants, paper towel holder broken, three provided wine corkers (all broken), decorative wood panel on top of refrigerator falling off, garbage disposal not working a number of the dishes and glasses chipped/cracked.
Downstairs bathroom sink faucet leaking on the counter when you turn it on.
Downstairs bedroom mirrored door cracked and difficult to open.
Issues have been reported to the management company and had a productive dialog with them.

Lovely home! Great neighborhood. Easy access to all of the wonderful High Country activities. The handrail / guard rail at the driveway needs to be replaced. Quite a bit of rotten wood, loose rock wall cap and is borderline dangerous. The actual deck appears to be ok. Just letting you know so it can be properly inspected. Would absolutely stay here again!

Visiting from Florida
This was a great property overall. Loved that we all had our own bathrooms. The older adults had the upstairs bed and bathroom, while my husband , I and our kids had the downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms. Loved the double sided fireplace, you can watch tv on one side and on the other have a quiet spot to read or relax. The heat was a little tricky since there’s only one thermostat for the whole house, hard to find a happy medium between upstairs and downstairs. There were quite a few things broken inside the house, garbage disposal in the kitchen island sink, top of fridge accent piece was loose and paper towel holder needs to be replaced. The instructions for the garbage and recycling were a little confusing, manual inside the house said no recycling however there were other instructions inside stating there was. When we arrived there was garbage already in the outside bin therefore it was full with ours and we had to leave a small bag inside along with recyclables. There was some rot on the wooden railing outside the front door and it looks as though the light post was damaged , not a huge deal to us but I wouldn’t want someone to get hurt. The kitchen towels and bath towels were pretty sparse, a few more would be good. The stove and kitchen overall was amazing ! We cooked many meals ! We ventured out to the top of the hill and discovered a nice area with picnic tables and rocks to explore with a great view !! The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. We would certainly stay again.

We Enjoyed our stay at Peace Of Mind. We attended my daughter’s graduation from ASU. We wanted a property that allowed for family to gather for a large family dinner. Very nice property. Kitchen was well equipped with serving pieces as well as plates and bowls. There do seem to be a few pieces of silverware missing. The house was clean and well maintained. As it was cold we brought extra blankets just in case and we ended up using them. My elderly parents ages 91 and 84 were able to stay on the main floor. The master bedroom has step down from the main house in to the bedroom and a step up from bathroom to toilet area. So not great for the limited mobility but we were able to work with it. Enjoyed the fireplace. Lovely stay and hope we can come back for another visit.
