We’ve stayed here a couple times and love it! The only thing I would ch age is adding a little more pots, skillets, etc for cooking and the pull out couch being repaired.

We like Beachwalk but had some disappointments. The floors were dirty so the children’s feet and legs of the babies got dirty. The rest of the home was cleaned nicely. The loft was so steep we could not use it for the younger children and even the adults didn’t like it. The sofa bed was broken so we didn’t have enough room for everyone. One couple left and stayed elsewhere. Ray Bans had a lot of ants in the kitchen. Garage fridge hadn’t been cleaned. The pool was cold - especially the small pool! Was advertised as heated?? The kitchen had everything we needed. Bedrooms and baths were very nice and clean. If we come back will probably try a different home.

Large home, wonderful location but we had numerous small issues that just led to a less than stellar stay, especially for the price. From items being left unplugged, to rotting boards on the deck, to way too many switches, some that didn't work, including outlets that don't have power running to them. These things mixed with the smell/state of the garage area and having the wrong key for the for cart and having not one but two empty propane tanks too. We still enjoyed the area and everyone slept well, plenty of stuff to use in the kitchen and the screened in deck is awesome.

The house was very clean and was impressed to see soaps at every sink. We were expecting to have two pull out sofas, but both were broken and there was a note telling us not to open them. One of the queen beds also had a broken frame. We had to scramble and get air mattresses. Using these for a week did not make for a rested stay for some. The owner just needs to fix these problems. For what was paid, we would have liked to have all the beds that were stated in the listing.

Our family of 15 loved staying at the main house and coach house. The main house is decorated so nicely and was perfect for our stay. It is a wonderful house for a large group. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back again. My only complaint is the Kitchen. It is getting very “dated”and could use new countertops and sink. Resort is fantastic - loved our visit.

The houses were set up to accommodate our large group which is what drew us to the property initially. Each bed has their own bath which is very helpful. The kitchen/living spaces were large. The golf cart was a great addition as well! Our main complaint was the cleanliness of the unit. Within 30 minutes of arriving, all of our feet were black on the bottom from the dirt on the ground and carpets. The inside door mats were visibly stained and dirty and clearly had not been washed or switched out in some time. Many of the end tables were dusty. Lastly, in the basement there are just bins of mismatched game pieces and broken toys. If these things were corrected, we could consider staying again.

This is our second year as an extended family staying at Beachwalk and our first year at Catchin Some Rays/Ray Bans. We really enjoyed the main house and coach house. It was a perfect set up for our family and allowed everyone to have their own space. The kitchen and living area are wide open and very comfortable when we were all in there eating or hanging out. The main house was very well appointed . It was styled in tasteful beach decor and helped with the vacation feel. The outside screened in patio was a huge hit with our family as we spent most of our time out there in the evenings and mornings. We only had two complaints with the main house; first the window coverings in the bedrooms could be better, they allowed a lot of light to come in in the mornings, second the kitchen cabinets were full of dishes and pots and pans which allowed for no space to store food that we had; once cabinet could easily be left emptied for guests to use as a storage space. The coach house (Ray Bans) was a perfect house for the family with the small toddler to nape and be separate from the rest of the family. However, Ray Bans is showing some wear and tear, specifically the rugs in the living room and bedroom could really be replaced. We felt Ray Bans was not as clean as the main house. Other then that we loved the house and the location was great to all the amenities. Lastly, we couldn't believe all the extras the house supplied especially for the beach (chairs, balls, sand toys, etc.).

This is the second time we have stayed in this home. The home is starting to show some wear and tear. The dishwasher in Ray Bans did not work properly and the pull out couch needs to be replaced and upgraded. It is hard to sleep 2 people on a hide-a-bed mattress that has gone flat. The kitchen storage in the main house needs to be cleaned out so the renters are able to use the cabinets to store their food. Storage in this kitchen is very limited making it hard to function during meal time. A large pantry cabinet instead of the buffet would be helpful. There were too many random bowls and large baking dishes taking up a lot of cabinet space. Pots and pans were random and could be upgraded. The lower level couches are worn out and uncomfortable and the beds and trundles are not in good condition. When it says it sleeps 4 people the beds need to be decent and comfortable. There was a little too much random toys/junk in the basement. It needed a good cleaning out. I do not think we would stay in this house again.

We love this home. This was the third time we have stayed at this property. The Management staff, particularly a young man named Jacob, were outstanding, very responsive, efficient and a pleasure to deal with.However, in general the home was very "tired". The same linen(now stained) as when we stayed 6 years ago. The same was true of the area rugs, place mats, seat cushions, etc. Many things needed repair: The upstairs shower, all the toilet seats were loose, the guest house had a gas leak, the upstairs thermostat was locked at 80 degrees.

Catching Some Rays was a great gathering place for our family reunion. The house was well stocked with coolers, beach chairs and sand toys. The kitchen had everything we needed however we did not cook much. We had Sweet Lous cater dinner each night and highly recommend using her. The upstairs was hot. The air conditioning could not keep up so the upper level was not cool. The bedrooms had very thin blinds over the windows and the sunlight easily came through which made it difficult to sleep when the sun comes up so early. This also added to the problem with the air conditioning not being able to keep up. We loved the screened in porch and the house is very nicely decorated. I would love to be able to recommend the property to others but feel the owners need to fix the air conditioning and blinds.

We had 17 and so enjoyed having a dining area big enough for everyone to sit down together. And our 5 grandkids loved bunking together in the basement room. Close to the playground and pool! Our 7th year at Beachwalk, and already booked for next year. And Jude in maintenance deserves a special thanks, for finding us a highchair, a missing pack and play and immediately fixing the water line to the toilet. He's amazing!

We rented for 2 days for my son’s wedding although we only live 40 minutes away, it was worth the expense. The home is nicely furnished with all the details that makes you feel comfortable. Plenty of room to spread out but lots of space to get together for news and other activities. The location is very a walk away from Lake Michigan. Having the golf cart was a definite plus.

Family Reunion: More than 80 people rented various properties in the Beachwalk community and often gathered for activities at our rental--The Rays. The home is just as nice as it appears in the online coverage. We needed a place where each adult and spouse and in our group could have a bath and bedroom. This is among few that could provide this. Open space, lighting, golf cart, dining room seating for 16; the place has it all. Minor concerns dealt with ASAP by management. We're looking forward to our return. The management recommended a limo service to us from O'Hare to the front door. Convenient and reasonable cost.

We had a wonderful time at Beachwalk again this year. We stayed at Grey Goose a few years ago and we appreciated the improvements on the Rays this year. I wish we could have turned off the door chimes connected to the alarm system, too much ringing with a family of 22 in and out. I wish we could have gotten ESPN on the TV, World Cup final and Wimbledon final were on when we were there. The main floor washing machine kept turning off in the middle of wash cycle and the toaster slots were faulty, bread fell through. Having said that we booked for next year and look forward to this experience again. I will say that on our last day there were 3 rescues on the lake due to the wind taking floats out. It was very scary. I wish Beachwalk would employ a couple lifeguards and maybe even a couple wave runners for our safety.

This house was just wonderful. We had 18 ladies drive in from Chicago, through the snow storm and the house was so inviting. There was ample space for everyone to be in the living area for quality time filled with so much laughter. It was clean, well stocked with all cooking essentials. What a perfect house for our families! We were all so pleased with the home and everything it had to offer. From the beautiful screened in porch to the fire pit outside, we want to come back and rent again. There were 20 of us and no one felt crowded.
