Great Vintage 2500sq ft. country cabin amazing river front setting!
About this cabin rental
This home is located in a very special setting. Most vacation homes on the street are set far back from the river. This home is closer yet higher which allows perhaps the best views of any vacation home in Scottsburg. You can fish directly from our landing at the bottom of the stairs or access the river from the bottom of steps on low tide. Home has 3 very spacious bedrooms king size bed in master which is downstairs the 2nd bedroom upstairs has two queen and a futon and the third bedroom with river view has a king bed with a futon. Home has hardwood flooring in most areas with granite counters, large kitchen with all modern amenities. Home has Wi-Fi internet, DVD player with DVD movie library in living room. Home has soundproof game room with regulation ping pong table for additional entertainment. Home is handicap accessible with large covered side ramp allows you to enter side door of home and downstairs bathroom has handicap shower. The best views are in the dinning room, family room, game room and from 3rd bedroom upstairs which faces river. The upstairs of home has a retro 60s feel with all wood paneling with that original cabin feel. Property is very large. It has a large flat paved driveway with areas to park up to 8 cars or trucks and room on grassy area next to garage for trailer or boat or ? We do not have a dock however we have a wonderful set of stairs that take you right down to the river. Our section of the river is more shallow which is great for swimming and wading. The deep section of the river is on the other side of the river near highway 38.Two Kayaks available for you entire stay, It takes two people to carry them up or down the stairs to river . Great place to stay in Scottsburg. I recommend this stay for the quiet, clean and plenty of room for friends and family.

Our family rang in the New Year celebrating two birthdays here. There was also a proposal at the dock with the river in the background which made the setting perfect for the special moment. House fit all 8 of us perfectly. There was ample room to play games and the ping pong table was a hit! Would like to come back in the summertime.

We had a wonderful time. The house was cozy, the area was nice and private and the ping pong table was a HUGE hit! We played most of the weekend.

Family had fun with the ping-pong right away, beds were very comfy. Liked the fact that the kitchen was fully stocked with all the needs for creating meals... so many places have very few cooking pots/ cookie sheets/ etc! Nice large dining table with room for us to eat while also working on a jigsaw puzzle (our standard getaway activity.) We visited the nearby Elk sanctuary and were pleased to see the herd. Appreciated the accessibility features.

We came down and spent 4 nights and had a blast. The Ping Pong table was a much needed activity after a long day on the Kayaks. The Owner was super responsive to all the questions that we have and will be back soon. Thanks again for the great stay!

The pictures do not do this rental justice. It was much more comfortable than I would have guessed. The views from the deck and sunroom made for lovely mornings and evenings. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would have loved to make it longer. The boys caught 10 fish and found the most success while using the kayaks.

Your house needs some tlc with cupboards pots and pans just thrown in cupboards. The dishwasher needs cleaning water not very good there. Down on your walkway to river needs trimmed up overgrowth to get to river but overall nice place to hang out with family.

It’s beautiful place and relaxing, all the things we needed are there. The kids enjoyed the game room, because it’s been raining the whole time we was there and they cant play in the river. Overall we all enjoyed our stay.

Our family and two dogs loved this house! It was in a beautiful location on the river. We enjoyed bird watching, fishing, relaxing and watching movies. There was plenty of space for the five of us and the property was clean and very well stocked.

From check in to check out we loved this property and the property manager. It was clean, looked just like the pictures, comfortable and just what we needed for our college tours. The lakeside stairs and landing were so cool and the trees around the property so pretty. It was quiet and right in the middle of the two campuses we needed to see. Great place!!!!

Great experience! Had three generations and everyone had a great time. Nice that the ping pong table (nice table not a cheap one) is in a separate but windowed room. Helps with the noise from our ping pong tournament. Wifi was great. Management was very responsive and quickly resolved the only minor issue that we had.
Saw elk one evening. Also what we think were otters or beavers in the river.
Visited in the winter but can imagine that it’s a really great house in the summer. Will likely be back in the summer.

Place was very clean other than urine smell in upstairs bathroom that permeated to upstairs bedroom. River access is poor at best!

Property is ideally located - right on the Umpqua River. Common rooms are spacious, kitchen is well-equipped, A/C was needed and available. Outside deck, stairway to the river and dock are nice outdoor features. Kayaks were available in the garage. House instructions were organized and clear. Hope to stay here again.

Mostly, the house is nice, big and comfortable for 6 adults (doubled up in the bedrooms). The table tennis was enjoyed very much! The linens are comfortable/adequate. There were lots of dishes and cookware - so no room for groceries in cabinets, just the counters.
The outdoor grill does not work at all. There was no sponge or wash towel for dish cleaning. Lacks beach or wading space - the dock is small and non-useful. The water is tepid and scummy, so no wading or swimming, but there were bass for those of us who fished. The noise from the highway detracts from quiet enjoyment and at the time of our visit, there was a lot of construction going on. There is no fence for the dog and the neighbor dog is obviously used to coming over to poop in the yard. The only toilet downstairs is in the en suite master, so there is a lack of privacy there.
Regardless, we enjoyed our visit in part due to the size of the house and size of the yard, plus we always have fun and make the best of it all.

The house was as advertised. It was clean, the view very nice, the neighborhood quiet. The house was well stocked. The three kayaks are getting a bit beat-up, but they still work well enough and it was wonderful to be able to go exploring/picnicking up and down the river from the house's own dock - the kayaks were what sold me on the place over some others and I was glad that I did. Highly recommended and worth the drive up from the coast.

We had a wonderful time at the property. The view was beautiful and relaxing and enjoyed using the kayaks. Everything was clean and had all the things we needed in the kitchen. We stayed here while we went to the World Track Championships. We would stay there again. The host answered my questions before I came quickly.

Beautiful setting on the river.
We enjoyed the home and our fun days . The river access was a little disappointing due to the mud , but we did enjoy the kayaks! Was nice to be close enough to the beach for day trips.

Gorgeous view
Our group of adults and teens enjoyed this lovely spot on the river. The view is incredible and the host is great to work with. It could be a five star place with a few improvements: more towels, more silverware, better dining table chairs, new grill, and a dock. Getting into the water was challenging and we had to wait until the late afternoon when the water was high enough to avoid walking in muck. But while you wait, the ping pong table is awesome.

Lovely space for a relaxing getaway
My husband and I decided to celebrate our 4 year anniversary at this cabin. We were grateful that pets are allowed because there was no added stress of having to board our dogs. The location is truly perfect. The view is incredible, it's quiet and peaceful. There are plenty of national and state parks nearby for daytime excursions. Be sure to bring plenty of food and drinks with you. This location does not have great cell service (though the wifi is fine) and there is not much civilization nearby (restaurants are few and far between). There are two AC units upstairs, but one was offline and the other doesn't do a great job of venting the hot air to the outside. We just left the upstairs windows open overnight instead and that helped with the overall temp in the cabin. The downstairs cooling units work really well and there are also ceiling fans ready to help circulate the air. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. We returned refreshed and ready to go back to our busy, noisy life in the city.
