Located in North Eleuthera, this attractive villa for £260 per night is a great option for your next trip. "Kool Jumbey" Vistas (unit 1C at the Buttonwood Reserve Oceanfront Condominium Resort) is a top-floor unit, that includes a full-surround two-ocean view, facing west over the Caribbean for the sunset and east to the Atlantic for the sunrise. Enjoy stunning ocean views from every room through eight-foot glass sliders and six-foot bay windows. The expansive private decks also feature spectacular sea views in every direction. Buttonwood Reserve has access to two beaches. On the Atlantic side is a world-class, 3-mile-long pink-sand beach, pristine without a single house. It is accessed via our private, golf-carts only driveway. All condominiums at Buttonwood come with access to a fleet of golf carts at no charge. On the Caribbean side of our property, almost in your front yard, is a second beach. This beach is small and rather rocky, so not so aesthetic, but the water is as calm as a lake and this shore is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing. Our resort-style pool is just steps from your condominium. This beautiful landscaped pool is heated for comfortable swimming year round. We just completed a new pickleball court! Our mini-gym is equipped with a multifunction smith machine cage with precision linear bearings, an Olympic weight rack, dip station, and a cable routed pulley system. Guests also have access to dumbbells and a fitness/yoga mat. This is an open-air gym (fully roofed and with three walls). The professionally decorated interior of this vacation rental is elegantly furnished, modern, warm and comfortable. The east end of the great room features a modern, open-plan, luxurious kitchen finished in stainless steel and black granite. The kitchen, dining area, and living room have magnificent ocean views in every direction, with water sparkling as far as the eye can see. The master bedroom is features a large upholstered window seat with magnificent panoramic views of the Caribbean, a perfect spot to relax with a book or morning coffee, or watch the sunset over the sea. The master is furnished with a king bed and equipped with an en-suite full bath. The master has a private door leading to the deck over the Caribbean. The guest bedroom also features a large window seat with a spectacular view, this one overlooking the Atlantic. The bedroom has a full en-suite bath (which can be accessed from the hall as well). It is furnished with twin beds that can be converted into a king. Buttonwood Reserve comes with kayaks and a paddle board for use on the sea or in our pond. Bicycles are also provided for riding around the property or to town, less than a mile away. Our retired groundskeeper, Patrick, is an expert fisherman and will take you out fishing in his boat for a half day or full day (extra charges apply.) Grill your catch fresh on our outdoor gas grill near the pool. Buttonwood Reserve is a 10 minute walk from three restaurants: Delish, Leorose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill, and Mel's Snack Shack. Just a mile from Buttonwood Reserve is the village of James Cistern, which has three grocery stores, a town dock where the fisherman bring their catch every day, a produce stand, and Kel D's sports bar. James Cistern is also the home of Stubb’s famous barbecue, now called Tamarind Tree Grill, every Friday and Saturday, which is not to be missed. Buttonwood Reserve is an easy 15-minute drive from Governor’s Harbour, the main town on the island. Governor’s Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Other restaurants in the area include Pascal’s at boutique resort Sky Beach Club, Tippy’s (international and fusion), 1648 Bar & Grille at French Leave (fine dining for lunch and dinner), The Buccaneer, The Rainbow Inn (steaks and Monday night brick oven pizza night), the Front Porch, Hot Buns bakery and sandwich shop, and Da Perk Café (café and sandwich shop). We definitely enjoyed our stay at Buttonwood Reserve. The views from the condo our fantastic! Sunrises on the Atlantic and sunsets on the Caribbean, from the back porch, in the evening. The furniture inside and out was very comfortable. We explored a lot of the island and it was always great to come back and relax at "home". Brett, Keen, Sumit and everyone else we worked with through the condo were absolutely amazing! Thank you for making our stay a fun and memorable one!

Conveniently located in central Eleuthera. Not too far from governors Harbour and an easy drive to the north. This unit is very well equipped for extended stays and has everything you need if you elect to cook in the unit. The views are amazing and the unit itself is well designed and comfortable. We enjoyed that we were so close to the Caribbean side and had kayaks and paddle boards at our disposal. The beach across the street is great for fishing at the point and the snorkeling along the rocks was pretty good as well. A short golf cart ride and your at the Atlantic side and you might not see a single person over there which was nice. Buttonwood also has a very nice pool for cooking down after a long day exploring or at the beach. There are several restaurants that are very close and we highly recommend (Delish, LeoRose, Cravings & Mel’s snack shack). You have two grocery stores close by and had everything we needed. I highly recommend Buttonwood if your travels bring you to Eleuthera. We cannot wait to come back

Absolutely beautiful location from where you van can drive the entire island. Amazing views and good facilities. Comes with a golf cart that takes you to the Atlantic side. Beautiful beach there! Brett is a nice person who gave great support! Thanks all of you!

I secured Buttonwood Reserve for my 40th Birthday Celebration with 11 of other couples in April 2021. The resort was perfect for such a large party! It was so nice to have your own condo for quiet time while having the shared party space to all hang out. Everything on the website was exactly as promised- the units, the golf carts, pool, etc. The private beach on the Atlantic side was one of the prettiest I have ever seen. I would definitely recommend Buttonwood Reserve if you are looking for a quiet place to relax and hang out with those you care about most!

We had a group of 21 people, 16 adults and 5 kids. We rented out the whole facility plus the clubhouse. We hired two chefs to cook for us for the week. The clubhouse provided the perfect space to accommodate our group. We spent most of our time in the pool or at the beach. The condos were in excellent shape, all we really did was sleep in them! The island is too beautiful to just stay in your condo all day. We had some power issues upon arrival but Matt, Mark, Jason and Sonya tried to help the best they could. If you are looking for a property that can host a large group and still have your own space I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back some day. Matt has even been answering my calls after we have arrived home.

Our family just got back from a lovely stay at Buttonwood Reserve August 3-9th. The property was conveniently located about 15 minutes from Governor's Harbor and 45 minutes from N. Eleuthera Airport. The beds were very comfortable and although we had an initial problem with the TV, the property management sent someone out as quickly as possible and resolved it efficiently. The property manager was super lovely to deal with and was available any time we needed her. The air conditioners are amazing, which have been a problem for us at other Caribbean properties in the past, so we were comfortably cool the entirety of our stay despite the soring temps outside! The only major thing the visitors need to be aware of is the bugs, as most of the island of Eleuthera has lots of flies and mosquitos due to numerous fresh/brackish water marshes throughout. We came prepared with several cans of bug spray, bought citronella candles, mosquito smoking rings, and some fly traps that went on the windows that helped to fend them off a bit. I'm thinking some of those mosquito repellent bracelets may be required for future stays. The Atlantic side has a lovely beach to walk on and the Caribbean side was stunning. I'm not sure I would dock a boat on the little pier as the waves can get really rough with the tide fluctuating but it's a great pier to fish off of and jump from! Come prepared to purchase basic cooking supplies as the property was void of any spices or cooking basics. You can buy fresh seafood daily around 3:30 down at the James Cistern Pier from the local fishermen which is a 2 minute drive from the property and is very convenient! Finally, everyone loved the pool to cool off in after a few hours at the beach snorkeling. Overall, this property is lovely and will meet all of your needs! Don't forget to pack the extra bug repellants though!

The Atlantic side beach is gorgeous but beware of the loose coral rocks when waves are rolling in. They pelt you pretty hard. I was only in the water about 2 minutes and came out with bloody and bruised ankles. Swimming and snorkeling from the dock was great. We saw some cool fish on the random coral beds and a few large snappers and other fish that got my son excited about fishing! We'll definitely be back. Overall, it was a wonderful trip.

Wonderful stay at buttonwood
We had a wonderful time ! Condo was wonderful and peaceful ! Loved the kayaks and paddle boards ! Ran into some local fishermen that would of brought us fresh fish daily but only found him the last night of our stay. It would of been helpful to have a listing of restaurants , bakery and locals .

The Buttonwood Reserve unit 1C was the right choice for us. The views from the balconies are just breathtaking! We are already talking about going back next summer.
Over all, the condo was clean and very comfortable. We would definitely rent this unit again.
We met James, Patrick and Brenda (w/property caretaking). They were always very friendly and helpful when we had questions.
The condo was very clean, but I do want to give you some honest feedback about a few things we were surprised about in the condo.
The kitchen was lacking a complete set of basic cutlery, utensils and china (a setting of each for 4 would have been nice). Only a random mix of a few serving bowls.
We did use the one & only pan in the kitchen for cooking eggs a few mornings (it’s non-stick surface was long gone!). We contacted our Buttonwood person Sonya for kitchen towels (there were none) and bathroom wash clothes (there were 2 for 4 people). We did get them later the same day.
On our last day we discovered a 2018 Island Guide booklet at a local Restaurant, it was loaded with helpful/useful Island info/maps (I would suggest there always be one in the condo for the guest!).

Our only disappointment was that the Queens Hwy runs through part of the property...we did not realize we would have to cross the hwy to get to the dock. So we did not feel comfortable hanging out on the Caribbean side. So many beautiful beaches to explore tho!!

We loved our stay at Buttonwood! We chose this unit so we would have views of the Caribbean and the Atlantic and were not disappointed. On nights when the Atlantic was roaring in you could hear it from the balcony, and if the Caribbean gets rough you will have battling ocean sounds to relax to. Sunsets were incredible and we had a full moon during our time there that was amazing! Our unit was clean and well equipped with magnificent views of the Caribbean. The wrap around views to the Atlantic side are beautiful, and the golf cart ride is about 10 mins. We snorkeled some on the Caribbean side and found lots of shells. For first timers to the island, just be patient with issues like electricity outages or low water pressure occasionally.We knew this happens on the island so were not bothered at all. If you wait a bit they both come back pretty quick. We had 5 people in our unit so staggered our showers as much as possible and that worked fine for hurry to go anywhere or do anything anyway! Bring your own bug sprays to keep from getting eaten up by no-seeums and buy some apple cidar vinegar to soak in if you do get bit.I brought citronella candles to burn on the balcony in the evening. Sonya was a tremendous help and took care of a few grocery purchases before our arrival. The East and Final Grocery Store is very close by with a pretty good selection of supplies as well as the Leo Rose beachside restaurant which had a great grouper burger. Not far from Governors Harbour and the Buccaneer restaurant which was very good also.Pam's Island Gifts in Gregory Town has lots of local made souveniers, and The Blue Seahorse in Rock Sound as well.We explored a new beach every day and I even stopped using my windshield wiper as a blinker before we left! I was terrified of having to drive on the left side of the road but it was really no big deal after the first day.Many nice people on the island to meet. My only complaint was having to leave!

Beautiful Property
Buttonwood Reserve is a beautiful secluded property, yet still conveniently located to a small grocery and liquor store, which are hard to find on Eleuthera. It is conveniently located to Governor's Harbour, about 15 minutes away. The unit was beautifully decorated and the views from both balconies were breathtaking! Having the golf cart was a great amenity to get the Atlantic side beach. I spent the majority of my time on that beach as there was not one other footprint to be found! This is truly paradise and if you are looking for pure relaxation, go to Eleuthera and stay at Buttonwood Reserve!

Wonderful Condo Near Town of James Cistern, Eleuthera, Bahamas
This past week (mid-February 2017) my wife and I and another couple stayed in one of the upper units of Buttonwood Reserve on the island of Eleuthera. The condo was great! Sparkling clean and well stocked with dishes, glassware, linen, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, and soap for both dishwasher and clothes washer. It includes a golf cart for the ~1 mile trip to the Atlantic-side beach, several kayaks to use in the nearby Caribbean bay, and a lovely warm swimming pool shared with the other seven condos on the property. The views of both the Atlantic and Caribbean from the two balconies were fantastic, and the balconys were great for viewing the amazing sky at night. The only mild annoyance was the occasional "no-see-um" bite around sunset, but most evenings were breezy, so no insects bothered us. It is important to have a vehicle as most restaurants and food stores, and some of the best swimming beaches, require transportation. There is one wonderful dining spot on the beach within walking distance from the condo - named Leorose at the southern edge of the town of James Cistern. Amazing to enjoy a rum punch and dinner on the beach while watching the sunset!

Relaxed luxury with unbelievable views
My husband and I stayed at Buttonwood in January, 2016 and really enjoyed it. The master bedroom offers amazing views of the Bight of Eleuthera (think gorgeous, turquoise waters), and on a clear night you can gaze at the moon glowing on the water before you doze off. The decor is modern but not fussy, the space is bright and open but still feels cozy… it's just a great place. There are 8 condos on this property and when we were there 6/8 were occupied, but it was so quiet and private that we still felt like we were the only ones there.
At this rental you're close to both James Cistern, Rainbow Bay, and Governors Harbour so groceries, bars, and restaurants are close but not "too close". We didn't swim at the beach on the Atlantic side since the weather was chilly and really windy during our stay, but it's great for a stroll (you can see a shipwreck from the beach!), it's just a short walk (or golf cart ride) from the property, and our guidebook highly recommends it.
We loved our stay at Buttonwood, and our positive experience here is one reason that we fell in love with Eleuthera.
