Located in North Eleuthera, this lovely villa for £260 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. "Casa Dos Vistas" (unit 1D at the Buttonwood Reserve Oceanfront Condominium Resort) is a top-floor unit, that includes a full-surround two-ocean view, facing west over the Caribbean for the sunset and east to the Atlantic for the sunrise. Enjoy stunning ocean views from every room through eight-foot glass sliders and six-foot bay windows. The expansive private decks also feature spectacular sea views in every direction. Buttonwood Reserve has access to two beaches. On the Atlantic side is a world-class, 3-mile-long pink-sand beach, pristine without a single house. It is accessed via our private, golf-carts only driveway. All condominiums at Buttonwood come with access to a fleet of golf carts at no charge. On the Caribbean side of our property, almost in your front yard, is a second beach. This beach is small and rather rocky, so not so aesthetic, but the water is as calm as a lake and this shore is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing. Our resort-style pool is just steps from your condominium. This beautiful landscaped pool is heated for comfortable swimming year round. We just completed a new pickleball court! Our mini-gym is equipped with a multifunction smith machine cage with precision linear bearings, an Olympic weight rack, dip station, and a cable routed pulley system. Guests also have access to dumbbells and a fitness/yoga mat. This is an open-air gym (fully roofed and with three walls). The professionally decorated interior of this vacation rental is elegantly furnished, modern, warm and comfortable. The east end of the great room features a modern, open-plan, luxurious kitchen finished in stainless steel and black granite. The kitchen, dining area, and living room have magnificent ocean views in every direction, with water sparkling as far as the eye can see. The master bedroom is features a large upholstered window seat with magnificent panoramic views of the Caribbean, a perfect spot to relax with a book or morning coffee, or watch the sunset over the sea. The master is furnished with a king bed and equipped with an en-suite full bath. The master has a private door leading to the deck over the Caribbean. The guest bedroom also features a large window seat with a spectacular view, this one overlooking the Atlantic. The bedroom has a full en-suite bath (which can be accessed from the hall as well). It is furnished with twin beds that can be converted into a king. Buttonwood Reserve comes with kayaks and a paddle board for use on the sea or in our pond. Bicycles are also provided. Our retired groundskeeper, Patrick, is an expert fisherman and will take you out fishing in his boat for a half day or full day (extra charges apply.) Grill your catch fresh on our outdoor gas grill near the pool. Buttonwood Reserve is a 10 minute walk from three restaurants: Delish, Leorose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill, and Mel's Snack Shack. Just a mile from Buttonwood Reserve is the village of James Cistern, which has three grocery stores, a town dock where the fisherman bring their catch every day, a produce stand, and Kel D's sports bar. James Cistern is also the home of Stubb’s famous barbecue, now called Tamarind Tree Grill, every Friday and Saturday, which is not to be missed. Buttonwood Reserve is an easy 15-minute drive from Governor’s Harbour, the main town on the island. Governor’s Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Other restaurants in the area include Pascal’s at boutique resort Sky Beach Club, Tippy’s (international and fusion), 1648 Bar & Grille at French Leave (fine dining for lunch and dinner), The Buccaneer, The Rainbow Inn (steaks and Monday night brick oven pizza night), the Front Porch, Hot Buns bakery and sandwich shop, and Da Perk Café (café and sandwich shop). Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is safe and friendly. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class.

We recently were able to visit paradise again and for those who don't know, that is in Eleuthera, Bahamas. We stayed at Buttonwood Reserve, in James Cistern. We love Buttonwood Reserve because it has everything! With access to both the Caribbean and the Atlantic you can choose easily where you might spend all day or split between both :) The golf carts are wonderful when visiting the Atlantic side. Paddle boards, kayaks, paddles, safety vests, beach chairs, towels and umbrellas-everything is so accessible and convenient. Brett, the property mgr, is a great guy who is always available to assist with a bright smile and attitude :) The pool is also a wonderful amenity too! The condo units have plenty of room, very functional. The beautiful views out of the windows and sliding doors are spectacular! We visited so many different beach locations, from Queens Bath to Glass Window bridge, Governor's Harbour, etc. Snorkeling, shelling, beach walking, picture taking and just simple relaxing make for a perfect vibe. We can't wait to return to this blessed location. Don't miss out on paradise!

The property was very nice. We enjoyed using the pool and the BBQs in addition to our flat. The access to both the Caribbean and The Atlantic was a great plus. I often used the SUPs in the morning when the sea was calmer and thought they were a great plus. Later on we would take the golf carts to sit on the secluded, sandy, (but usually very wavy) Atlantic side.Do bring insect repellent and rent a car to see the many other lovely aspects of Eleuthera.

This property is absolutely amazing. Very clean, nicely decorated and plenty of space. The kitchen has everything you need. Comfy bed with nice linens. The views from every window are beyond spectacular. Coffee on the deck overlooking the aqua water made for a perfect start to each day. The area is so quiet and peaceful. The golf cart included with the condo made for a fun ride down a bumpy path to a spectacular beach in the Atlantic side. Paddle board and kayaks (included) were also a lot of fun.
If you arrive at night like we did, it’s a little difficult to see the Buttonwood Reserve sign!
We would highly recommend staying here and hope to be back again.
So many beautiful beaches in Eleuthera. Definitely check out Cocodimama Beach and Winding Bay…..if you can find it!!! Street signs are few and far between in some areas which makes the adventure even more fun!!!

This condo is perfectly situation between the vast, wavy, deep blue Atlantic ocean on the backside of the property and the calm, shallow, clear caribbean in front of the property. Relaxation at its finest.
My husband and I were looking for a quiet beautiful place to escape for our 10 year anniversary and this property was perfect. Spent hours enjoying the beautiful deck and the view. The pool and the beach were added perks. We would definitely return.

Be forewarned that the beach may have excessive garbage at the high-tide line, your experience will be best at low tide. There are restaurants near by but they’re not as good as people say, all the menus are similar, mostly burgers, chicken fingers, cracked conch, and conch fritters (they have the same food supplier). Buy groceries in Governor’s Harbour (closed Sundays). The tourist center in GH has a great free map plus other info. It was a great vacation with only one significant negative: biting bugs! Bring bug spray, bug lotion, baby oil, and hydrocortisone and/or anti-itch spray. Also, the water comes and goes so we filled glasses and pots for reserve (to flush toilets, do dishes). We would stay again and highly recommend Buttonwood for it’s prime location, beauty, easy access to both coasts, and comfort.

Wonderful little complex (8 units) just south of James Cistern. The unit is clean, comfortable and worked great for the 5 of us. Golf cart to get to the Atlantic Beach was great. Short walk down to Caribbean (which is great for shelling). Wonderful views of both from the upper unit balcony. Very close to a few good little restaurants in James Cistern, only about 15 minutes to Governors Harbor. Grocery and liquor store in James Cistern very easy to grab what you need. The garage held bikes, floats and a lot of the stuff you just can't pack. Very happy we stayed here.

Modern comfortable mid island retreat!
Modern, comfortable mid island retreat! Perhaps the best thing about renting at Buttonwood is the accessibility to both the Atlantic side and the Caribbean side. Super fun to have the golf cart to go to the Atlantic side for a very private beach experience! The manager Sonya was very responsive to our requests, and all of the on-site staff were very helpful and friendly! Have to thank Patrick especially for some of his insight to things to do on the island! The property is well-maintained, and has enough amenities to supply our time there for the dishwasher and washing machine even! They were very helpful in getting us a few kitchen items that we needed, as well as some additional beach chairs and umbrellas for our party of five. The couple of unfortunate things would include the fact that the pool heater was not working and really too cold for any of us to get into during our nine nights stay. The other unfortunate condition was the construction that was going on on site, however that was disclosed to us ahead of our stay and was probably more construction than we expected but was not intrusive on our time at Buttonwood. One thing I’m curious to see is what the electrical situation will be. There was an allowance that has not been disclosed yet. So as we used almost no air-conditioning, not expecting that there would be any additional fees. Overall this is a wonderful vacation stay with beautiful views and lovely accommodations well represented in the Pictures and description. Watch the sunrise over the Atlantic from your front porch in the sun set on your back patio! We would definitely come back to this accommodation! Thank you

The ongoing CONSTRUCTION is a big problem the noise and the debris is what you see and hear from your porch. We were not informed before renting as well as other renters about the CONSTRUCTION very dishonest not disclosing to renters that there is noise and a view of CONSTRUCTION debris. The unit was in need of repairs as well as some general TLC. View will now be obstructed forever by new building. Water pressure is nonexistent hard to even get shampoo out of your hair and hot water takes forever and at times nonexistent. Pool advertised as heated never worked our entire stay which was one month. Pam from Eleuthera vacation was very helpful dealing with all the problems and offered us a discount for our stay. Perry and Sonya the maintenance person and guest services people on property were also very helpful they have a very difficult job dealing with all these problems. The owner Matt Simons who wrote a book on rental properties should know better shame on him for not disclosing the construction I wonder how he would feel if he had saved for years for the vacation of a lifetime only to be faced with all these problems?

Buttonwood was spectacular and a great launching point for exploring the island. The condo was clean, bright and had everything we needed. The property is gorgeous and the golf cart was an extra bonus.
We had fun exploring the beach and the ship wreck, kayaking, hanging out by the pool and sitting on the deck looking out at the most beautiful blue ocean (and watching the planes come by!).
Within driving distance there is a “grocery” store, liquor store, bars, coffee shop and an awesome snack shack.
It was a pleasure working with Pam - she is a sweetheart and such an asset to the company. The groundskeepers and the ladies who clean the units were equally pleasant.

Pristine. Private. Peaceful. Paradise.
Buttonwood Reserve, tucked into a sleepy seaside corner of Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas, was the site of one of the most relaxing, memorable vacations we’ve ever enjoyed. Booking was easy and transparent and customer service friendly and responsive. The resort itself is spacious and versatile, ideal for couples, individual families, best friend getaways, reunions or small business retreats. There are plenty of opportunities to gather, but ample privacy too.
Buttonwood is a 30-minute scenic drive from the tiny airport in Governor's Harbour. This assumes you don’t stop a full hour on the way (as I highly recommend) at Eleuthera’s narrowest point, where a coral cliff side climb is rewarded with arresting views of azure Atlantic waves crashing on one side and crystal-clear, blue-green Caribbean glass-like on the other.
Each unit is clean, sunny and bright, furnished with comfortable, ocean-inspired decor with a tasteful modern twist. Gorgeous natural light streams through the wide windows in every room. With an ocean-facing entrance deck and rear terraces overlooking the Caribbean, the whole vibe is buoyant and breezy. Sunsets on the balcony are better than fireworks - an explosion of crimson, gold and pink eventually fade to a clear black canvas of sky, speckled with countless stars. Watch long enough, you might catch a few streaking silently across the expanse.

A two-minute golf cart ride, and you're at an amazing beach - Atlantic or Caribbean - take your pick. The latter is stunningly picturesque and serene, while former is equally frame-worthy and awesome for wave-jumping.
If you’re itching to venture out, choices are copious - but none kitschy or touristy. Though all destinations are publicly-accessible, they feel almost exclusive. Buttonwood’s property manager offered great insider tips and key details on nearby powder-sand beaches, underground cave exploration, heart-stopping cliff jump-offs, boating charters, lively weekend nightlife scenes in downtown Governors Harbour and five-star dining at local restaurants and resorts. If you prefer dining in, in-suite kitchen has all modern appliances, utensils and conveniences.
Buttonwood Reserve is a gem of a resort on a treasure of an island - a phenomenal place to experience this rare paradise.

PROS: SONIA was very responsive and wonderful. 10/10 for her! PROPERTY VIEWS & BALCONY - great. Very happy to have selected an upper unit. POOL - nice but needs SHADE options. No umbrellas at all and no one around to ask. BEDS & UNIT layout were clean & comfortable. LOCATION of PROPERTY: central, easy access to everything and quiet. Very very good. CONS: GROUNDS TEAM: Not a huge deal but definitely no one around to ask about anything. BEES (yikes) & POWER OUTAGES (x2) put a damper on the comfort of outdoor and indoor activity. Sonia helped as much as she could and it was resolved quickly w/ exterminator visit and info/check ins about power. SANDFLIES situation was challenging. Bring antihistamines, DEET strength bugspray. We knew to expect them but didn’t come as prepared as we we could have. Rookie mistake! Overall the vacation was relaxing and fine. I would recommend Buttonwood Reserve as a good choice.

Photos made place look bigger than it was. Could not c sunset without stretching neck over balcony. Furnishings a little worn. Portable A/C unit in guest bedroom took up a lot of space. A/C in main area not working properly for 1st few days but they did fix it. Internet not working most of the time we were there. The description of this place needs to convey that this is an island that receives groceries via boat once a week; internet anywhere on the island will be sporadic at best; the Main Street of the island has to be crossed to get to the Caribbean beach. It is a beautiful place with welcoming locals.

Vacation Buttonwood 2017
Had the best stay at Buttonwood for our big family Vacation. Seven adults and 6 kids. It was perfect for our 3 family's. We each had a beautiful condo and personal space to go when needed or when naps needed to be taken. A great pool to cool off and visit neighbors after a day at the beach. Great food nearby and a special treat of a chef cooking a Bahamian dinner for us one night. I thing that was our favorite. Patrick and his wife Brenda were so sweet and good to us, gave us fishing secrets helped us everyday to find fun activities and spots for kids to enjoy. It really was a great experience. I would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely be back. Also we received so much more than just a condo. Golf cart, kayaks, beach chairs, even life vest.
So there is no excuse for not having a good time!!! Thanks again for a great beach vacation with my grandkids and family.

Great property and amazing island!
Our condominium was well appointed and had everything needed to cook meals and be comfortable throughout the week. It was clean and was a great size for the four of us. The golf cart provided for travel to the Atlantic side of the beach was great. Truly an amazing beach! Patrick who we saw on a daily basis around the property was incredibly helpful and nice. The pool was very warm and was great if you wanted to swim after coming back from the beach. The island is amazing with so many beaches to explore and the local people could not have been nicer. We felt very safe during our entire vacation. The only negatives (if you want to call them these negatives) are the sand flies which come out at dusk and bite your ankles (we were aware of this prior to arrival so be sure to be prepared) and the cost. Everything on the island is significantly more expensive than the mainland and we are from Canada making it even more expensive with the currency exchange. Again, we were well aware of things being more expensive prior to arriving. Matt was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the entire process of booking this vacation. We would definitely return.

Terrific Rental for Eleuthera
We stayed at Buttonwood in mid-December and it was a wonderful experience. Buttonwood is a unique place. From the ridge where the units are built, you can see both the deep blue waters and white capped combers on the Atlantic side and the turquoise waters of Eleuthera Bight. It’s a short trip via a sandy bumpy road in the golf cart included with the rental to a long white sandy beach on the Atlantic and the view —to include the wrecked ship on the shore—is of miles and miles and sea and shore and sky. The villa at Buttonwood is a very well-planned two bedroom, two full bath vacation rental with generously sized rooms and ample indoor and outdoor living space. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes all the major appliances with a micro-wave, hot-water carafe and coffee maker. Best of all, you have a great ocean room from just about every window. The heated pool is well-maintained and thoughtfully screen by the landscaping on the property and there is plenty of space to lounge by the pool. Matt Simon and his staff at Buttonwood could not have been more gracious or accommodating. Matt even came out to meet us at the airport, gave us a personal tour of the property and showed us the way to the near-by settlement of James Cistern and the local grocery, liquor store and a near-by restaurant. A great and relaxing time from start to finish and thumbs up for Matt and his team, too, for their thoughtfulness.
