The staff and the views
Would like to have used the pool more often

it was a very a nice hostel and the bar had the best view. the room was very spacious and comfortable. the staff were super friendly and the food was delicious!
the food and drinks were a bit expensive and other things like laundry and scooter hire too.
the hill is no joke, be prepared for that. they do offer free tranfers from the bottom. l

Nice view & nice staff
Quite expensive for the standard of the hostel.
We had no running water in our room 2 out of a 3 night stay so we couldn’t shower or flush the toilet.
Hostel definitely has a lot of potential.

The dorms were lovely and each bed had plenty of space. The view from the bar was amazing and the staff were friendly.
There was no water and electricity for very large portions of our stay. This made it very difficult to do anything. The hostel was right at the top of a very very steep hill. One day we had to go two days without a shower before they eventually offered us a bucket and a cup to shower with. The pool was also out of service during our stay - we were not previously informed of this.

The staff was so good, were really nice and helpful with everything. Food was really good. And the gret view.
No points.

The staff is really friendly, they helped us with everything. The views are breathtaking, waking up with that is just wow.
We couldn't enjoy the pool because it was under construction. It would be nice to have an open window in the room so it can smell better.

The one positive about this hostel is the staff. They are really lovely and helpful, and were apologetic about the rat situation and gave us a full refund for our stay.
I think this hostel could have a lot of potential if it closed for a while and properly sorted out all of the issues, so it can give guests the experience that they’re charging for.
Avoid this hostel at all costs! We had a number of issues while staying throughout:
1. RAT infestation - we were meant to stay here in a private room for one week but ended up leaving after two days as we were woken up at 4am by a rat falling on my bed while it was trying to steal our (sealed) cookies. This hostel has a rat infestation and are fully aware of the problem - when we told staff there was a rat in the room they appeared unfazed - but are still allowing people to stay there. It was truly a traumatic experience having a rat fall on me at 4am and I actually got badly sick the next day, I’m not sure if the two experiences are connected but staying in a rat infested room can’t be good for you. We also found rat droppings and urine in the bathroom, and are pretty sure rats were climbing and searching over all of our items so we felt really horrible and had to wash all of our things when we left.
2. Cleanliness - the overall cleanliness of the hostel was severely lacking. There was hair on the floor of the room and a big clump of hair in the shower, and it just felt generally unclean (further demonstrated by the rats)
3. Location - the hostel is on top of a massive, very steep hill and although this gives a beautiful view, it causes some issues. They do offer a shuttle service but I messaged on Booking.com the day before we arrived and never got a response, thought it would be ok to pay for a trike to take us up there but the trikes will not take you as it is too steep. Therefore we had to walk up the hill with our 20kg backpacks which was far from ideal and actually quite unsafe. We were able to use the shuttle service during our remaining time, but it just makes you feel quite dependent on the hostel and the pick up area is in a dead zone for 4G so you have to tell them ahead of time when you want to be picked up.

I loved staying at Lexias hostel. The staff is truly ely amazing. They’re super helpful, friendly and will always find creative ways to make your stay the most comfortable they can. No water? They’ll bring you a bucket shower. No power on the island? They’ll let you charge your devices at the front desk. No wifi? They’ll fix it as soon as they can or will help you look things up. The location is also perfect. The view is amazing. They serve very good food. The only thing i didn’t like is that the walls are paper thin. So unless you want to hear your neighbors conversations about the weather, bring earplugs. I should warn you that after a couple days at Lexias this place will feel like a home and the staff will feel like family so you might not want to leave.

friendly staff and free shuttle to the beach.
The hostel was not beachfront. You had to drive to access the beach. The pool was not even built yet. The first night the water didn’t work. Doesnt seem like they were ready to host guests. Couldnt offer what they advertised.

The location up the hill didn't bother us at all as the staff were so great at coming to collect us each time, even at night! And the views were incredible, and it would have been an amazing place if it wasn't for the construction going on. The restaurant was also pretty nice with a range of dishes and drinks.
Due to the construction, there was a constant very loud noise, either banging or drilling. I understand that construction needs to happen, but it would have been great to have been warned so we could have decided if that was something we could deal with. It kind of ruined the view as it was so loud and we couldn't have our room curtain open as there were construction workers building roofs right in front of us. It also meant that the pool wasn't open, which was one of the main reasons we had booked. When we asked about this on the first night, the manager said that it would probably be done the next day and the pool would reopen, which was obviously not true as there was so much left to do! Although all staff were so lovely, it would have been better to be truthful. The dorm room was fine but could have been cleaner. The shared bathroom wasn't that clean and only had a curtain separating from the corridor, ad the toilet doors were so small that you could just see in to other people using them. They could have been cleaned more regularly and thoroughly, as there was often hair, old underwear, and used up toiletries lying around.

the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble! as the place is on top of a VERY steep hill, they offer pick up and drop off to/from McDonald’s, we went out one night and I whatsapped them to see if they could pick us up from mcd’s at 12:30am unsure if the driver was still around and that’s wasn’t a problem at all. the room had everything we needed and more, storage space, a table, great AIRCON, blankets and towels - aesthetic of the place as a whole was beautiful, amazing sunset - the restaurant area - designs on the walls and the plants, very good vibe! they also had a pool table which was great - cooking facilities! we made breakfast twice, you don’t get any place with cooking facilities in Asia so this was a big plus! they also have 3 dogs and 2 cats which was so lovely! nice to see they take them in and look after them with all the strays that are around. Lexi actually guided us to the beach one day and stayed with us for about 3hrs and walked back with us, our own 4 legged guide, she was great! the zip line is also bang next to the hostel which is also another great plus! the location was good, it was only a 10 minute drive to the town which was always 150 pesos preferred staying here than in the centre.
this was the most expensive place we stayed at during our travels and felt it could’ve been a bit cheaper. the pool was under construction when we arrived which we weren’t told about prior. the lamp in our room kept falling off - not really any hot water in the shower (not really a big deal in a hot country!) - good if they had more board games - the bathroom door slats were also falling off and there were some stains on the floor. for the price, you’d expect this to all be 100%

The location is at the top of a very steep hill but the hostel provide a free shuttle service which was perfect! The views are exceptional and it's the perfect place to watch the sunset.
The Restaurant attached to the Hostel is Superb! The host (I'm sorry I can't remember her name) was amazing and so knowledgeable! Plus I can't not give a special mention to two beautiful Dogs that live there, Marley and Oreo... a little touch of home!

The only thing I liked was that it was pretty close to the Main Street and restaurants, but as you'll see, that comes with it's own disadvantages...
The location is central but walls are thin, you can hear everyone walking inside the building and especially outside. The doors, windows and walls are paper thin seems like. Good luck sleeping with all the tricycles, cars and drunks outside making noise. The room whether it's 4 per dorm or 8 per dorm is a complete lie, it's actually 12, AND you only have one toilet for males and one for females and one shower for each, and only one sink for both genders, yet again good luck going to toilet or showering... Speaking of shower, no pressure! Guess what I found out, the security camera you see, they don't have access to it, and if you get something stolen or anything else, you have to pay to get the footage! I tried to get the footage because they made me pay a 2nd time because the staff member that was sleeping on the job forgot I paid him.. I tried to argue it and then I saw the camera and asked for the footage as that would resolve everything. Once they told me I'd cost way more then just paying again, I guess you know what I had to do... Lastly I booked a tour with them which was worst ever, I was the only foreigner on a packed boat... guide could speak English but chose not to and told everything that he did to all the other guests in filipino and I was there asking him, could you tell me to? and he'd say something super quick and short... fun times! Worst hostel experience of my life, but that's also partly because I had higher expectations due to pictures and reviews I read prior. I guess I'm writing this because there may be someone out there that the above would matter in their decision. Good luck staying here, hopefully you won't have such bad experience as I did.

super nice people working there, the cafe area is nice. Beautiful sunset!
the swimming pool was not open the 3 nights I stayed there. and the AC was not good, in the way of I got a really bad cough of it, plus alot of dust in the room.

There is a bunch of pros with this property. I will try to list them in mixed order: the best sea view you could possibly get in El Nido, A/C in the rooms, spacious beds with privacy curtains, a co-working space with fast internet, swimming pool, billiard, hot water & electricity are stable throughout the day, laundry service. And, last but not least, a fantastic receptionist, always attentive to the guests' needs (she even offered to medicate my wound wow), and the cafe/restaurant where I spent endless time chilling out and tasting various delicacies (please try the chicken curry, best I tried in my life!). I really can't wait to return!
The property is very uphill as everyone else mentioned. But this is about the only cons I can think of. On the top they offer a free shuttle service until midnight even though I personally did the route by walk on several occasions and found it rather easy peasy despite it looks insanely steep.

Firstly, the views from this hostel are absolutely second to none. The sunset is INSANE. We were absolutely in love from the afternoon we arrived! The food and drinks are great and reasonably priced. The staff were super attentive and helpful, Eileen was the sweetest lady we have ever met. The facilities were good and the beds were comfy especially for a hostel! The location is good, not very central but close to a couple of gorgeous beaches and a short tuk tuk ride away into town. Lexias is based on a very steep hill which takes around 5 minutes to walk up or down. I personally wouldn’t recommend getting a tuk tuk up the hill as it was pretty anxiety inducing but it’s fine if you really don’t want to walk. If you fancy some exercise just walk up or down! The zip line to the adjacent island is based right next to the hostel and is absolutely an amazing experience. Thank you so much Lexias for a fabulous stay!!

the view was insane. The restaurant run by the coolest couple ever was delicious. Staff were always friendly and accommodating.
the location at the top of the hill is difficult but honestly thought it was kind of endearing. But be prepared to walk up sometimes.

Beautiful location on top of a cliff. The view from the restaurant is amazing. The food is some of the best food we had in the Philippines. The staff is super friendly (both from the hostel and from the restaurant) and they will do anything to help you. The beds are really good, the bathrooms are fine and the rooms are big. You are close to an amazing beach and a super cool zipline. And you can always take a tricycle to the city. I really loved staying in this hostel. The atmosphere is really really great and there's a pool table and a swimming pool. So many cute dogs and cats and the cutest little puppy 😭
When you get there you'll have to go up a really steep road. You can walk it but it might be too hard with your luggage. They will send a shuttle for you if you contact them when you arrive. Just call them on WhatsApp. I would recommend you to buy a cheap sim card in advance (we didn't have one so we had to go to the beach and ask someone for WiFi) and call the hotel. The shuttle will come and pick you up super fast.
The WiFi. I'm sorry to say but we booked this hostel because the reviews said it was a good place for digital nomads. They have a Coworking space and a lot of WiFi routers. It was very important for me to have good Internet connection because I had to work but the Internet was the worst I had ever experienced in a hostel. It was extremely frustrating. I spend the entire day on trying to make it work. In the end I bought a simcard with data to make a WiFi hot-spot for my phone. That didn't work either because the connection is just really really bad in the hostel. In the end I lost a lot of money because I couldn't work and had to tell my clients that I couldn't deliver what I had promised. Maybe I was just unlucky with the Internet those days when I was staying, but we only booked the hostel because they promised us to have good WiFi. The staff tried to help as much as they could but I think the area is just really badly connected to Internet.
I would still recommend the hostel just not for the WiFi 😊

This hostel really hits the heights of extraordinary! Room was clean and comfortable. Staff are so friendly and welcoming, they will look after you and make sure you are having a fantastic time. The roof top bar/restaurant is an unforgettable experience! Very possibly the greatest view on earth which is accompanied by a relaxed atmosphere, ‘high dining’ level of food and drink (incomparable vegetarian options). If you are lucky enough to get a room you should jump at the opportunity and if not you need to at least visit the bar and take in the view and enjoy the chilled vibes. the real kicker is it’s affordability! For what you get it’s unbeatable.

Expect what you want on a cheap stay. We stayed in a regular room for three and it was spacious. The shower and the toilet were huge but for more than ten times, there was no water in the faucet. Be it for the bidet or shower. It is worse when you are in the middle of taking a shower.
Besides the water problem, one staff offered me his service to get us dinner from outside the restaurant, Trival. So we asked him to buy us a McDonald's meal. He came back and said we owed him 200. So we gave him 500 and asked him to keep the change. Meanwhile, he reported to the owner of the restaurant (Trival) that he was not paid. The owner of the restaurant, in front of other staff and some guests at the restaurant educated me about what I should pay their hostel staff whenever we ask for any help. The audacity. The owner of the restaurant sounded sarcastically mad.
It was severely degrading on my part because she said everything in front of a lot of people --not with a mellow tone. Soon, they realized that the staff had, in fact, lied to them.
The owner of Trival was very apologetic. But they did not make it up to all of us anyway. They did not even offer to make things better. But it was okay for us, though. We came to appreciate the beauty of El Nido, whuch did not disappoint.
But it was an awful experience. This was on top of the flimsy bathroom curtain, the disfunctional airconditioner and the extremely contaminated/dirty pool. Good luck. We will never come back here ever again. The restaurant's food was also terrible. Breakfast menu was VERY limited to chicken sausage, chicken tocino -- which you can count with your fingers, served with heavily-salted fried rice, french toast which doesn't even have syrup and a bland omelet. Awful banana cake too. It was undercooked. We had to give it back and they even know that it is, in fact, undercooked. Worst restau. Try the ones down Marimegmeg beach instead.
Awful. But if you are a solo traveller, go ahead.
Worst stay for families, but it is best for a single traveller on a budget.

the people are so welcoming and friendly, it felt like a family, the view and bar overlooking the sea was the best view we saw in el nido, nice home cooked food and good atmosphere.
nothing - the hill to walk up is steep but the view is worth it

Super comfortable beds and the best ladder I have seen to access upper bunk. It's actually a staircase. Very veyr safe.
The view is to die for. Best view in all el nido I think.
Its literally ten steps to the zip line.
Excellent restaurant and bar inside the hostel.
The bar area balcony is amazing.
Nice and helpful staff.
The hostel has a nice quiet feel to it. Not a very noisy commotion type place.
It's up on a very steep hill, which they don't tell you in advance. It's impossible to climb up with a suitcase and with any luggage. So you will need a car shuttle. And their shuttle service to take you to the hostel is quite unreliable. Once I waited an hour even after calling reception because they just don't tell you if the car is broken and can't come. They just said yes yes wait a few minutes. Finally I had to hike up.
Also most people I met there had struggled with directions because the hostel dint give any instructions on how to get there and instead went walking with luggage to the beach because on googlemaps that's what it looks like the hostel is.
So things to improve :
1. Clear directions to the hostel.
2. Regularity of shuttle.
3. Cleanliness of the showers. There is so much hair and sand on the floor.
4. There are no lockers. There are very old home style cupboards and they have lost the keys to them.

The view is great from the terrace. Very good for chilling. It worth everything. The hostel is new and clean. The food is good, free water, calm and cozy area, near to el nido, near to zipline, helpfull staff. I will stay there again
For getting there, you have a bit difficulty, but dont worry, they have a car to bring your luggage from the road to hostel, and also yourself
The beach is very nice, but most areas are not good for swimming due to stones in the sea. Ask the reception where to go for swimming
The burger had sweet jam inside, which wasnt our taste. It would be great if they ask beforhand to add it or not
