Exceptional

Great place in a fantastic quiet location. Crete Mare is almost at the far end of Plakias but is only a couple of minutes walk to the main street along the sea front. The room was lovely with a great view out over the sea and breakfast was excellent. We'd definitely stay here again.

The shower was cold in the morning but hot by late afternoon.

Exceptional

Fantastic location overlooking the sea with great sun terrace and unforgettable sunsets. By far, my most comfortable and luxurious room in Crete. Beach in front, tavernas, cafes, etc all closeby. Breakfast area and terrace and extremely friendly hosts.

Beachfront location, seaview rooms.

On the balcony it was a really bad smell. Probably from the drain or something, but you cannot sit there and relax.

The hotel owner and staff are very nice and welcoming. The room is lovely and the balcony in front of the sea is fantastic i could sit there for hours. The bed is very comfortable too.

The hotel is in perfect location in the Lovely town of plakias. Located minuets away from the center but just far out enough to have more peace and quiet. The beach in front of the hotel is wonderful

Beautiful views, comfy beds, better showers than most Crete hotels.

I stayed at Crete Mare probably about 20 total nights between my visits to plakias in 2021 and 2022. The rooms are very clean, the showers are a little bigger than most in crete and have glass enclosures that prevent the whole bathroom from getting wet. The option for a queen bed is nice, especially because it’s an actual queen bed and not two doubles stacked next to each other. The bed was very comfortable. The service is super friendly. The location is nice, with a calm beach right in front cause the water is protected by rocks to slow the sometimes wind-blown sea. The view tops everything off though. Beautiful views from every room, and close enough to hear the ocean at night. I can’t speak for the breakfast, because I usually didn’t get up early enough for it, but the breakfast next-door at nikos on the rocks serves breakfast all day, and is very good. One other benefit is that nikos bar (next door) stays open later than most other bars in plakias (if your into that, which I was). Service at nikos is also excellent.

The wifi could perhaps be a little stronger.

Great choice of hotel

Fabulous position and view. Friendly attentively staff. Dealt with a faulty wc quickly.

Could do with some info about the hotel's facilities on display e.g. whether breakfast is included and the times. But nothing fundamentally wrong.

Perfect location,amazing view, cleaning exceeded all my expectations. Amazing.

Very good to amazing. Great location within 2-3 min walk to city centre ,amazing view with just 30sec walk to the beach, free sun beds. Large beedroom , large balcony, very very clean bathrooms, far better then all the other 3 and 4 Stars Hotels that I’ve seen and stayed so far until now . All the Hotel was immaculate , exceeded all my expectations. Anna and Ioana are doing exceptional work keeping the Hotel extremely clean and tidy, I have only respect for them . My entire staying was so nice and I am looking forward to go back as soon as possible, thank you so much Creta Mare Hotel for making my staying and holliday an absolutely gorgeous.

I have nothing to complain about ,everything exceeded my expectations.

Perfect location

We just returned after 12 days stay at Creta Mare Hotel, what a fabulous place. The room was clean and comfortable and the view from balcony is amazing. Location is a very short walk to main restaurants round harbour and the large sandy beach. Ioana and Ana keep the hotel spotlessly clean and look after us very well. The location of this small hotel is just perfect. All rooms have sea view and the sea is just across the road. The hotel has sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach which are free for guests. Plakias is perfect for a relaxing holiday and the Creta Mare is in a beautiful peaceful location where you can even spend the day on the balcony if you wish just looking out to sea. We will certainly be back. Thank you Georgios, Ioana and Ana for our lovely stay at your beautiful hotel. 🙏🥰

The room is nice, clean, with a nice bed and chairs.

No hot water. We had hot water one day and only between 12 and 16 pm for max. 10 min. So it was not possible to take a shower one after another. The sunblinds are so loud you can not leave the balcony door open for sleep. We tried to solve the water problem but never saw the owner during 4 days.

Excellent stay

The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The hotel is opposite a beautiful beach & close to many excellent tavernas. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are cleaned daily to a good standard.

I enjoyed my stay. The owner was wonderful, the staff was great.

Great location, great sea view, across from the beach, in a quiet spot, but close to the centre with tavernas, shops, supermarkets, etc.

Superb

We were greeted by a very friendly lady, who made our stay enjoyable from the start. Always smiling and helpful, the best service possible! Cleaning and fresh towels provided every day. Very good breakfast, loads of variety.

We were unlucky with the weather, it was very windy.

We had a wonderfull stay. The owner and the staff have been so nice. Best view on the beach. :)

We booked late in the evening. That was no problem. We had an awesome view in the beach in south to south west. There is a street in front, but no worries, there are hardly any cars driving. You can leave the window open at any time and sleep. The breakfast was well enough. The stuff always put more on the table when anything was empty. There are plenty of good restaurants close to the place. We recommend "Taverna Apanemo" :) The owner and the staff have been always so nice. We just can recommend the stay.

A satisfying stay

Plakias is quite a sprawling stay and this hotel is at the better end for quiet and authentic Greek tavernas. Lovely view from a private balcony. Breakfast had quite a good variety of choices. WiFi was excellent.

Breakfast didn’t start till 8.30 and as cyclists we wanted to make an earlier start than that. The owner was quite abrupt when issuing breakfast and at reception... but maybe it has been a very disappointing season!
