This home is just lovely! It’s so close to the beach, has a private pool/hot tub and is super clean. We fit 10 people very comfortably. The owners are very welcoming and have stocked the house with games and movies and provided us with beach chairs and beach toys. Our family had the best time and everyone enjoyed the house almost as much as the beach! Thank you Molly and Paul for sharing your house with us!

We were amazed with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the house! From the ocean view off of the master bedroom deck to the nice sized and clean pool, our party of twelve never felt crowded. This house is right next to a beach access point so we were in the ocean with just a three minute walk. We will definitely be back.

My family and I had a fabulous time at this beach house. We were less than five minutes to the beach. The house had plenty of room for our family of ten, and every bedroom had a bathroom. They kept the pool clean for us and were very responsive with any questions we had. We would absolutely go back!

Location was perfect. Customer service with owners was great. Property itself was not clean. The bathroom tubs were dirty. The outside pool area was not clean. The hot tub had green algae on the sides.

This is our second summer family vacation at Surfside Beach and we had a wonderful time!
There are many advantages to staying at Above the Mango Deck - plenty of room for a family of 4, the owners were very accommodating and responsive (had a last minute request to have the pool heated due to the unseasonably lower temps and heater was turned on the next morning!), the house was very clean and had all the necessary towels/linens, each bedroom had an adjoining bathroom, any of the bedrooms can easily accommodate a full size crib if needed like in our case, one of the best features was the distance to the beach (a very easy walk with 2 toddlers!), the location is an easy golf cart ride to restaurants and the park, the pool and hot tub were great to spend time in after a day at the beach, and the owners had chairs and an umbrella available on the beach every day for us to use (set up by the lifeguards but unfortunately were taken down at 4pm).
Just some minor personal preferences of things that may be helpful to know especially if you have little ones - the stairs and doors are a bit creaky so if you have light sleepers this may be an issue, one of the tub plugs upstairs took some finagling to keep it down and both tubs upstairs took a while to fill up, the pool is concrete and can be a bit rough on your feet and knees, there is no privacy with the outdoor shower therefore making it a bit harder to really wash away all the sand especially on little ones (the shower is located on the side of the house facing the neighboring complex's parking lot), fireworks went off nightly granted it was right before 10pm but with little ones going down at 8pm this was a bit of a nuisance, the dumpster for the next door complex is right next to the driveway and can be heard if someone slams it loudly and the city does a weekly pick up at 130am which gave us quite a scare early one morning, and if we would have had the grandparents stay it would have been nice to have the second king sized bed downstairs versus having 2 king sized beds upstairs.
As mentioned the previous is just some personal preferences but overall it's a lovely home with wonderful owners and an ideal location and you can't go wrong having your vacation at Surfside Beach!

We got to stay at Above the Mango Deck for our annual family beach vacation. Grandparents, parents, and children (even an infant) had plenty of space to be together and still had space to get away for alone time. The owners thought of everything and were so easy to talk to! Can’t beat the location! Two thumbs up!!

Awesome Vacation at Awesome Beach House
We obviously read the property description and the reviews prior to renting for the week and everything was "spot on". It is literally steps to the beach and to the nearby pond. Our family rented a golf cart for the week to head to dinners, drinks, stores, etc and we also used it to cart cooler, toys, chairs to the beach. The house has numerous amenities including items for infant needs as we had two infants. The pool and the hot tub were amazing. Paul and Molly (owners) were very friendly and helpful. We hope to visit again.

Perfect location
So many great things about this property: so close to the beach, plenty of space for the 4 adults and 5 children in our group, very friendly and responsive owners. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the kids loved the included golf cart rental for getting ice cream and visiting the playground. Our boys love watching the pier construction, and we were far enough away that the noise wasn't loud or distracting.
The only downside was that there were many broken items in the home, the hot tub and pool were not clean, and the house was generally in need of a deep cleaning. The day to day cleaning was fine but corners, baseboards, vents, etc.. had clearly not been cleaned in some time. The owners were very responsive in fixing the broken items and Paul himself came out to check on us and fix some of the items. He was so friendly and helpful! The hot tub had to be drained and refilled and there were 3 different contractors in and out of the house one afternoon, which made some of this covid-conscious family uncomfortable. Overall, I'd recommend this place and would consider returning once the house receives some needed TLC. Once that takes place this would be an unreserved 5 star review!

Great location
The house was great and in a great location. My kids loved the pool and hot tub and visiting the lake that is just one block over. Easy walk to the beach, close to a few grocery stores and River City. It is just a short drive over to Broadway at the Beach and you really appreciate visiting the crowded area over there in Myrtle, but not actually staying in that crowded area. Surfside is much more relaxed. We loved sitting on the decks in the morning and afternoon. Plenty of room in the house and it is decorated very well.

Great Stay Steps From the Beach
Our family traveled to get a much needed change of pace and scenery. The house was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We noticed a couple of things that needed repair when we arrived. Molly & Paul were incredibly responsive. The keyless entry made it a breeze to come and go. Definitely a great place to stay!

The beach house has a great location. I couldn't get my granddaughter out of the pool. We enjoyed the hot tub at night. Except for the constant fireworks, the neighborhood was quiet. The trash was always picked up and the pool monitored every couple of days. I would recommend this place for a pleasant stay.

Great base for a beach holiday
The property met our expectations and was well equipped in the kitchen for meal preparation. The location is perfect, an easy walk to the beach and near a grocery store for shopping when needed. There were buggy boards, beach toys, and plenty of beach chairs which we enjoyed. We would stay here again.

Great Experience!
We had never been to any SC beaches and Surfside did not disappoint! It was a beautiful beach and very few people with much busier areas on both sides (Myrtle and Garden City). We really did pick the perfect place! It was a little cool but the kids still swam in the ocean and pool. The house did not disappoint either! Exactly as described and very clean! Can't wait to go back!
Let me start by saying the photos do NOT do this any justice at all! We had an amazing time and the house is beautiful! While it sleeps 14, there were only 4 of us so we had plenty of room to sprawl out. We did get a golf cart, but honestly, it wasn't needed. The beach is a 1 minute walk - even with all the kids gear, we walked most days. The pool closet was well stocked and had plenty or beach chairs, toys, and even boogie boards - we really only needed our own beach towels! The beach was way less crowded then Myrtle Beach too, which was very much appreciated. Shuffleboard was a bit with the kids and my husband and I enjoyed the hot tub. We arrived about an hour early and were allowed to enjoy the pool while the cleaning company finished up. Upon check in, Paul called to make sure everything was to our liking. We reported to very minor things (loose handle on the freezer and broken patio umbrella) since it is required (per the contract) and he made sure we had access to a replacement umbrella the next day! We'll be back for sure!

Family vacation
Beautiful home, short walk to the family friendly (not overcrowded) ocean. Pool and hot tub were perfect for our group of two families with children ages 5- 12. Bring bikes- we rode all around Surfside. Also is a short drive to Myrtle Beach if you want further entertainment. It was easy to contact the hosts with any questions! Plus they gave great directions/ recommendations for our stay. Five star vacation !!!

Spring Break with Family
Everything about our stay was lovely. The house is just as described/pictured. It was extremely clean and well kept. The backyard was a plus and while it was too cold to swim we did enjoy the hot tub each evening. Our family also learned how to play shuffle board! Ocean view from the balconies and literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. We enjoyed the beach chairs that were available at the house. We will definitely rent again! Thank you for a much needed family break after a very long year with covid.

This was a perfect setting for our family gathering. Close to the beach and all the local attractions, yet set away in a nice oceanside community. Owners were very responsive too. It had everything we were looking for.

Great vacation spot
This property was great. It wasn't right on the beach, but it was the next best thing. We were from the kitchen to the beach in about 60 seconds. You could see the beach access from the driveway which made back and forth to the beach all day with kids much more manageable. The property was clean and well-stocked with more than enough kitchen supplies, two different coffee makers and a full beach closet of chairs, floats, balls, boogie boards, fishing poles and more sand toys than most beach stores. The pool and hot tub were also very nice. We started and ended every day in the pool and/or hot tub. I do wish there was a deck down to the pool off the back of the house. It would have made it a little easier with the kids, but that is just a minor complaint. I assume if they had done that they would have lost one of the bedrooms in the design so it might not have been worth it. Overall a great place that slept 8 upstairs (2 hallway bunk beds are for kids under about 5 feet tall) and 2 in the bedroom off the kitchen. Ample bathrooms and fully stocked full-sized washer/dryer. We really didn't need to bring anything but beach towels and our bathing suits. Lastly, Molly and Paul were great to deal with. They were very accessible the whole week and quickly answered our questions. If you are going to Surfside Beach and you have 10 or less people this is a great place to rent.
