Lots of nicer, cleaner, better run places in the area for the same price

Location is great. Flat is perfectly adequate, nothing special but totally fine. Washing machine and coffee machine, although coffee machine produces only tepid coffee, not hot.

There is no reception and no regular staff on site. This shouldn't be a problem except the code entry system is not explained well. There are two entry systems - we were trying the wrong one. We tried to contact the host but they did not respond. Only when a neighbour showed us how to use it we got in. When we told the host this, they literally just replied "OK". We thought it was us being stupid! Then the next day, we saw a young woman arriving alone, who had exactly the same problem, so they know it's an issue. They just don't care. They've got your own money, so you're on your own. But it got worse... The day before you leave, you get an email in broken English telling you it is "imprescindible" (essential) you take your rubbish down to the bins in the basement. So, you pay over 100 euros a night for a flat but you get to clean out your own rubbish! But we did it. Having left the flat (you can't get back in after check out) in the basement we met a woman we had never seen but who confirmed (in Spanish) she worked for Apartamentos Huertas before who started yelling at us in Spanish (you better be able to understand shouted Spanish from someone who really doesn't want to speak to the paying guests!) that it had to go back to the flat (locked out) separate it into "plasticos" and "organicos". She was extremely aggressive even though the email you receive does not tell you to do this. Then in the end, when I told her I was a paying guest and I had heard enough from her, and she could do it, she just threw it in the trash anyway. She was telling me it was the "ley (law) de Madrid!!" then just chucked it all away anyway. Do you fancy dealing with all this nonsense in Spanish? Lastly the bathroom had not been cleaned when we arrived. There are loads of great flats around central Madrid where for the same price, you get a clean place, well run, many with a receptionist. Try those.

We loved our stay in Madrid. The location of Apartment Huertos was perfect. We would stay again.

- Location - Aesthetics - Hosts were very friendly and responsive

- The bathroom had a strong moldy smell. - One of the beds was very hard and dipped in the middle

Exceptional

The location within Las Letras neighborhood was fantastic. So close to everything, from sites, to shopping and restaurants. The bed and sofa bed were comfortable. Place was super clean and the hosts were so helpful and happy to please. We would stay here again. Thanks for everything.

Disappointing

Perfect location. Most point of interest in walking distance.

VERY NOISY during all night. Night club in front of the house, with people screaming in the little street. We asked for a quite place, but was almost impossible to sleep. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable.

The room was clean and tidy. Well located. It was spacious. Owner attended promptly to our issue.

Fantastic trip!

The apartment is great, and the localization is awesome. Pretty much it is located on one of the best streets of Madrid for tourists. No noise during the commercial time (in the case you work remotely). And the staff are amazing people.

The internet could be a bit better. For the general purpose is great, so no problem. But for video calls, I needed my personal 4G/5G internet.

Modern apartment with welcoming hosts near the Sol Square

The check-in was very convenient. We arrive quite late during midnight, but still get the key from a lock box easily. The location is amazing, just 5 minute's walk to Sol Square, also close to metro stations. The host also help us make the sofa bed before arrival, which I find especially thoughtful compared to other places! We are able to leave our luggage at their office on the day of check-out, which is very convenient. When we check-out, the very welcoming host give us chocolates as a gift. Sooooo sweet!

The wifi connection is a bit unstable, sometimes good and sometimes weak.

PERFECT LOCATION

the location was superb, you could pretty much walk everywhere from the apartment. It was surprisingly quiet when you think about all the clubs and bars around.

Other than the weird curtains in the room, there was nothing we didn’t like.

Great place for a city break in Madrid!

Perfect location, good amenities. Deli was very helpful with early checkin and luggages on our last day. Highly recommended!

Excellent location, beautiful apartment, very clean.

excellent location, it’s right in the heart of tapas bars, good restaurants, walking to three major museums. The apartment is very nicely designed, modern and there’s an elevator.

challenge to figure out the the shower faucet. The host had to come to show me.

Superb

Great location, cozy and clean apartment.

A bit noisy during the night time as the dance club works just in front of the apartment building. Owner does not speak English.

A quaint top apartment in the attic!

Its location primarily. Rather quiet considering there are restaurants and night clubs nearby. Decoration was simple, but good taste overall. Lovely indoor patio shared by the family-run Vietnamese restaurant. Glass lift overlooking the patio.

An area which needs improving concerns the sewers and the shower. It drained too slowly. The bathroom quite small.

The room is good but it's next to a club/pub/bar that is super loud and it wasn't mentioned in the description. I understand people go on holiday to have a good time but to have a good time some people need a bit of good sleep too

I didn't like the srounding area, as it's not good for an early bird! Just to make it clear the house keeping staff very amazing ☺️

Exceptional

Nice clean and quiet apartment in the middle of the city, with restaurants, bars shops and a small supermarket in the immediate area and museums and Plaza Mayor all on short walking distance. Only taxis and some small buses can use the Huertas street, so it is ideal for pedestrians. Nearest metro is Sol, five to ten minutes. Apartment has a basic kitchen and bathroom that fitted all our needs and good beds. We were in a period of very hot weather, but the airco cooled the air perfectly. Staff were friendly and helpful, arranging the key handover via email was smooth and they arranged transportation back to the airport for us. We stayed here before a few years ago and will quite probably return in the future.
