Wonderful, magical stay & location

This place was wonderful -- even a touch whimsical. Perfect for a weekend birthday celebration & getaway, and as a base camp for venturing out to explore the New Forest. Every member of the staff was extremely warm and friendly. Both of us had dietary restrictions (one coeliac) that we asked about for breakfast, and no one batted an eye. (As well, the food was fabulous.) The location was perfect for big and small wanders. No qualms -- would happily stay here again!

The only thing we ran into was that the thermostat for the room pretended to come on, but never really did. We fooled ourselves into thinking it was working, but later realized it was just two people's body heat contributing to the overall temp. 😂 The room seemed well-insulated and was never absolutely freezing, just couldn't quite get it to a comfortable level. But our time there was so fleeting and full of things to do that we never managed to say anything, which is no one's fault but our own! (I believe we were in something like the lemon verbena room, for anyone's reference.) Truly, this was not ultimately a detraction from our experience.

in brief I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, apart from the 2 small notes it was great.

Staff, location and breakfast all very good to exceptional

Shower changed to red hot while I was in it and there was a plastic razor cover from previous use on the bathroom floor.

Lovely memories

The location was great, close to station and not far from the wedding venue where my friend was getting married. Loved the thatched cottage, brought back memories from when I owned one. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, great breakfast and afternoon tea. First time I had been to Brockenhurst and won’t be my last. Thank you Thatched Cottage.

Wonderful first stay in Brockenhurst and sincere thanks to the Thatched Cottage team

The staff are friendly, willing to share information about the area and professional. Facilities are excellent. Location is central to the town and walking/cycling tracks. If you take the train it is a 5 minute EASY walk. Breakfast menu is sufficiently extensive and interesting, and very genorous. The Gin Bar would take weeks to work through! Very impressed. Highly recommended. Would stay again.

Lovely private accommodation is perfectly situated near local bars, restaurants, and shops. Staff were amazing, and breakfast was brought to our room at a requested time. Will definitely stay again!
