Great location in Gion. Well maintained- wonderful staff.
Room a bit small.

The location, even though quite far from the train station, is good because it is nearby the old part of Kyoto. The hotel does provide shuttle bus service to the train station, as I learnt later. The room is very pleasant. Also, the access to the hotel rooms is quite clever, in a way that you could do so without going through the lobby, hence avoiding the checking-in tourists.

the location is top notch and so convenient
if the headboard of the bed material can employ hypoallergenic material even better

My room was immaculate! Super clean, like everything brand new, and the water was nice and hot at all times. Staff were friendly and went out of their way at every encounter to make for the perfect stay.
I can think of nothing.

location outstanding for staying in Gion area, room very thoughfully designed with clever ways of partioning and storing, hotel very discreet and quiet, design is Japanese minimalist with almost no extraenous details or decoration. wet room is a pounding waterfall of high quality very hot water
breakfast barely passable for western tastes, coffee not on par for better hotels, bring your own nespresso pods and breakfast bars instead of paying for that extra, beds and pillows are very firm in the Japanese style, communication with the polite staff requires patience and time, Bar is a charmless closet (bartender very good however), restaurant pricing is very high, you can find the same quality in 10 min walk at 1/3 the price

Beautiful hotel, plenty of in-room amenities and wonderful staff
Only downside was the breakfast, luke-warm and not very tasty for the price. Better to walk over the river and find some restaurants

Very nice rooms and friendly staff.

The public bath was amazing - the rooms are big and very very well designed- a lot of sunlight in my room was lovely
Bar is a bit claustrophobic but that is nitpicking

loved quiet atmosphere- sliding doors to give feel of ryokan and gardens.
onsen v welcome
sliding doors also made it feel like a prison.
breakfast room very basic with mainly Japanese offering. toaster but no bread to toast.
particularly inhospitable was the bar behind sliding door and single refectory table. wood of table was superb but no atmosphere of welcome and sociability. English language skills of reception staff needs improving .

The property is beautiful and the location is excellent. It’s a few short minutes walk from many of the temples and traditional areas of Kyoto that you want to see. The staff were the real highlight though. All were so incredibly helpful and spoke wonderful English which helps a lot in Japan.
The onsen temperature was a bit too hot and the room’s bedding was a bit warm for the temperatures.

Loved the location as we found most things walking distance and it is located off a beautiful heritage site and street. The hotel itself was beautiful and maintained to a very high standard with a well kitted out room. Will recommend to anyone visiting! Concierge and rest of staff were also excellent!

The hotel is beautiful, actually beautiful. The design, layout, concept of the hotel with all these cute cat sculptures sleeping and interacting with the decor, beautiful.
The staff are extremely courteous and considerate, it was always a pleasure interacting with them and they made everything so easy. They even arranged to take our luggage back to Tokyo so that we didn't have to take it on the bullet train at a really affordable fee, just incredible.
Breakfast is delicious and absolutely worth getting as a part of the package.
The hotel have masseuses that they ordered that can come as late as 12.00AM, we had this three times, every time excellent.
The quality, space, and amenities of the room, the spa and the yukata was exceptional, especially for the price.
Situated in a really sophisticated part of Kyoto, Gion, next to the best yakiniku restaurant and 12 course food experience that we have ever had.
Best hotel experience in Japan so far.
Nothing.

close to restaurants and markets - breakfast was very unique - delivered promptly at our requested time - room was very modern and spacious - the location was great - when we had day trips, the train station was a short taxi drive away or could have walked if we desired - the hotel offered free beverages in the lobby - there was a restaurant just a short distance away which we enjoyed very much for dinner - very enjoyable visit!
everything was very nice - the hotel exceeded expectations!
