My husband and I, with our 2 friends (and our pup!) had a wonderful long weekend in this cabin. It was spotlessly clean. Everything you could possibly need was available and in great condition. The beds were very comfortable. We had a snowy weekend, and the fireplace was warm a d cozy. A special treat was the fire was set, ready just for a match … what a thoughtful touch! Plenty of wood and fire starting materials available. We didn’t use it, but the outside deck was lovely. Even with the snow, our pup loved the fully fenced yard. I highly recommend this cabin, I know we’ll be back. The owners were easy to communicable with, helpful and available. We had a wonderful time!

Wonderful cabin with a true mountain cabin-feel, roomy, comfy, amazingly clean with many thoughtful touches, like welcoming wine, and bottled water in the fridge (which we really needed on a long hike, having forgotten our water bottle). Woodsy location in the trees, walkable to the cool Alpaca Cafe for breakfast. Great host. Plus, a large, super equipped cook's kitchen!

My husband and I enjoyed staying at Ruth’s very much ! The log cabin is amazing , very spacious and the kitchen is fully stocked ! The large deck and fenced yard we enjoyed very much, along with our pets ! Ruth even left us some peanuts to share with the friendly squirrels !! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again !!

Living in this cabin for a few days leading up to Christmas was one of the best decisions we made in 2021. The cabin was super clean and decorated beautifully. Definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to be cozy on cold days and also go hiking in the mountains on warmer days. Wouldn’t change a thing about my stay. :)

We absolutely loved our time at Ruth and David’s place. It was an incredible refuge from what have become record-breaking snowstorms hitting Idyllwild this year. The cabin was very clean, well organized and had everything we could want to make great family memories - all the amenities from a well-appointed kitchen with antique stove and every gourmet kitchen tool you can imagine, a wood-burning fireplace, games for the kids, great wi-fi when we needed a break from the kids, and ample space for our pups to enjoy their first snowfall. The cabin is a mile from the center of town so you aren’t surrounded by the crowds but are close enough to walk to local restaurants like The Mile High Cafe, to have snow fights in the park, or to make a short drive to the store. Check in and check out were super smooth and Ruth kept in contact the entire time, when I had a question or wanted a recommendation. Highly recommend this cabin - we hope to return some time in ‘22.

Our family of five has been traveling to Idyllwild for a few years now and this was by far the most well appointed cabin we have stayed in. Communication with our host was excellent, before and during our stay, the cabin was spotless and every detail was very thought out and on point. Kitchen was very well stocked and had all that we needed. Even with extreme temperatures, the cabin stayed cool and comfortable. Location was close to town. Kids loved lounging in the swinging porch chairs and we all enjoyed stargazing in the evening on the back deck. Would highly recommend!

Our family of 5 plus two medium dogs enjoyed a relaxing few days at the cozy cabin in Idyllwild. The cabin was well setup and everything was very clean, comfortable and well-stocked. Hiking trails are within walking distance, as is the town. We enjoyed evenings out on the huge deck, under the beautiful trees. We were very grateful for the ease of communication with the manager and the special gift basket upon our arrival!

Took a short trip from San Diego to have a change of scenery and to leave the noise of news, work, and COVID. Enjoyed a peaceful time eating, drinking, playing games and hiking in the nearby trails. Nice camping style swing chairs in the front to enjoy the squirrels and blue jays as well as a big patio with grill and fenced in yard in the back. Trees and night time stars were lovely. Host was always available and responsive.

I was not expecting this cabin to be so lovely, even though it looked great in the photos. It was even better in person. I had my family meet me for the holidays and we had a wonderful time... preparing meals, playing games, sitting by the fire, walking to town and walking to the camp grounds to explore the trails. The cabin had everything we needed (it had the most well appointed kitchen I've ever seen!) and was comfy and beautiful as well. Ruth and David were always available when I had a question and made sure that all our comforts were addressed. I wouldn't come back to Idyllwild unless this cabin was available!
