Loved our stay at this house. If you want a "Lodge" experience up on the mountain, then this is your place. We didn't end up going up to the mountain due to icy conditions and were totally content just hanging out at this house.

Our stay at this cabin was much needed. Could not have picked a better location for the family... We know where we are staying whenever we are ready to come back. Everything was truly amazing. 10/10

We loved the intricate details of the home. It was a wonderful stay!

This is a great cabin with plenty of sleeping spaces if you have a lot of kids. Only downside was the upstairs full sized bed was fairly uncomfortable. Downstairs bed was great though. The kitchen was better than most cabins we’ve stayed in and the overall cabin design was really cool. Outside had a hot tub, fire pit, horseshoe pit and a giant swing which was really fun. It would have been nice to have an early checkin or late checkout option but this is definitely one to visit if you get the opportunity.

Had a great time staying at this unique property. Clean and advertised as listed.

The house is amazing, the area is perfect, it is in a beautiful setting, equipped with pretty much everything you need, the question is, will the things inside the house be working?
Now the things that weren't so great: We arrived and it was 57 degrees inside, raining outside, it was cold. We turned on the heat and went out for dinner. We returned a few hours later and it was still 57. After trying to troubleshoot, we realized the heat wasn't working. We called the local person who didn't answer, so we called VRBO. They opened a claim and was supposed to call back. They didn't so we called again, they forgot to escalate it to maintenance. Now we were told they will send someone out very shortly. Well finally we got in contact with the local lady, who first said she would try to send someone out that night, but minutes later texted that they were waiting on a part, admitting they knew the furnace wasn't working. That's when we started feeling really disappointed, that they didn't tell us about this before we arrived, as we had a child with us too, and we really were freezing. She said to use the fireplace, which we did and after long hours we got it up to like 60 degrees, but honestly we couldn't relax and we weren't planning on tending to the fire while on vacation (Luckily the bedrooms had individual heaters so while sleeping, we were nice and warm). We got $250 refund. Also high cleaning fee but had to clean before leaving. Couldn't plug bathtub drain either.

Exactly as advertised, spacious cabin with wonderful amenities. There was a burn ban when we stayed but the hosts left wood inside so we could still use the two inside fireplaces. The hot tub and tree swings were excellent and fun amenities to use when we stayed.

When we arrived at the lodge, our jaws dropped…the photos could not compare with the beauty of this property. Not only is the building respectful to the old growth forest surrounding it, every fixture and piece of furniture and art is so beautiful and well-chosen. The curation of the space is almost an homage to the aesthetics of the Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. The location of this property was perfect—close to many spectacular hiking trails. The kitchen was well appointed, hot tub was wonderful after a long day of hiking. I would love to return with family in the future.

What a great place! Full of hidden areas for kids, a huge tree swing, and places that made a cousins trip a bit magical. Highly recommend.
Hosting-wise, a bit disappointing. The communication with vacasa was great (much better than previous experiences), but the general hosting is a little sloppy. Nothing major, but little inconveniences showed up all the time. We arrived and there were no paper towels or napkins, so we had to get that. The hot tub smelled moldy, so we had to try to treat it, but the materials were not in the labeled boxes. The check out instructions have you going around the house to strip beds, set thermostats, hunt for light switches, etc. Basically, lots of things like that.
We’d love to stay here again, can’t say enough good things about the place. If you are looking to stay, plan on making a sweep of the place before settling in.

This place was very fun! We stayed with family and friends. The location was great, it was 30 minutes from Mt. Hood, and it was quiet and secluded.
The negative part was there were no screens on the windows. We knew there was no AC, and we were hoping to open the windows at night when it was cooler, but unfortunately that was not an option because we did not want bugs in the house. It was then very hot during the night and hard to sleep.
There was also a porn magazine found in the magazine bin. We understand that this was probably left by a previous guest. Thankfully we did not have any children come with us.
Overall it was a very fun place to stay!

Decent property -- it was a cool place to stay for a few days with friends and family. Good amenities and ample space to accommodate 8 people. Plenty of outdoor space to roam around. A lot darker on the inside than the pictures would lead one to believe, despite the many skylights throughout the place. Also, relatively close to other properties. Overall, would recommend.

The property was beautiful and private. It looks much better in person. The house was clean and organized and felt very welcoming. We had the experience that we were hoping for! Would definitely recommend and would go again! Instructions for the property and check in were easy and clear to understand. Family friendly! Comfortable! Beautiful!

We had so much fun spending time at the Sycamore Lodge. It is a beautiful cabin in a wonderful location. Lots to do and see!

Everything exceeded our expectations. Photos don’t do it justice. Lots of cool nooks. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need.
Things people have previously complained about seem to have been corrected. The furniture was new and the roof above the hot tub no longer leaks. Internet is a little spotty but that is to be expected in such a rural area. Read a book ;)
My only complaint is that someone had already circled all the pictures in the seek and fine book… bahaha!
Probably the person that complained the toilets were too low ;)

Cabin is absolutely amazing!!! Everything about it is just perfect and if your lucky you might have a Bigfoot sighting….

House was very unique and interesting, in a beautiful setting. Loved all the nooks and crannies. The fireplace was awesome. I felt it was very overpriced however. Only 1 shower with hardly any water pressure, and the water was lukewarm. Hot tub was not hot upon arrival. Checkout time was super early.

We had high hopes for this home after viewing the gorgeous photos. In reality the home is very dark and in desperate need of some new furniture. The size of the home also warrants more seating in living room area. The couch is extremley dirty and the cushions are completely broke down making it very difficult to get in and out of. There was one nice over sized chair but a second one would have fit nicely in the room and allowed for the needed additional seating. The oversized very cool looking copper bathtub is more for looks than for functionality. It was nearly impossible to get the drain to plug and the water pressure in both the tub upstairs and the shower downstairs was terribly weak. Speaking of the bathrooms, the toilets are very low to the ground which takes some getting use to. The windows are the kind that roll open and outward which is great to look at but they don't have any screens on them and the mosquitoes flew right in if you tried to open them. I say "tried" to open them because the handles would fall off into your hands each time you would attempt to open any of the windows. Even though the temperatures at night were in the mid 50s, and the high temperature was 82 while we were there they had "no fires allowed, they neighbors will tell on you" signs posted rendering that very desirable fire pit out front completely useless. All and all the home offered nothing to do (even the decks of cards were missing cards), and really needs some work to make it comfortable. We ended up leaving a day and night early we were so disappointed.

The Sycamore Lodge was a really fun home. There were really cool features and it was great for our multigenerational family.
Unfortunately, we were left without gas which fuels the heater, hot water, and stove. It took multiple visits by personnel to resolve the issue on Christmas Eve.

The couples from Wisconsin could not make it because of the travel disaster that occurred across the country over the holiday weekend. My son was able to stay there because he lives in Portland. I am VERY disappointed there wasn't ANY consideration to refunding some of our money or offering any kind of credit for future use. Both VRBO and VACASA stuck strictly to their policies. We are unlikely to use VACASA again. Plus talking to someone in Egypt and Belize about the situation does not help.

Cabin was great, it felt very remote when it really wasn't. Loved the wood burning fire place and my kids had fun with the 3rd floor loft. Came during winter but I think I would like it just as much in the summer.

Great place with plenty of room and just about everything you need (except coffee, so make sure to bring your own!)

This lodge was EXACTLY what we were looking for! Everything was clean, the kitchen had ALL the gadgets we needed (including a coffee grinder and even a food processor which we used for our sweet potato casserole), and the fireplace was AH-MAZE-ING (we had Bud Carrick, a local vendor, deliver plenty of firewood - I highly suggest reaching out to them for good prices and easy delivery)! While there are neighbors nearby, you still feel plenty secluded, and the surrounding forest is absolutely gorgeous!

The house was great for family vacation. Perfect space for six of us. Large open living room with fabulous fireplace open to second floor so we could be connected while enjoying different spaces. First floor bedroom and bathroom essential for us elders and two bedrooms plus single bed alcove upstairs. Our 3 yr old grandson loved the alcove and slept well in there. Hot tub was well cared for. Good times. Beautiful patio space

That first time walking into the main living area was jaw dropping —the wood floored and paneled living room opens to the second floor with a massive stone fireplace as a central focal point and lit by an antler chandelier. It really earned the name "lodge!"

This cabin is quiet and secluded yet close to all the hikes of Mt. Hood. Our family ( 3 teens and 2 olds) enjoyed hanging out together inside and outside the cabin but also appreciated the space it gave us when needed. Try the Zig Zag Inn for beer and pizza!

Rustic, cozy, and enchanting. We loved the fireplace and hot tub. We were sad that weather did not permit us to use the outdoor fire pit. We’ll be back for sure!

Amazing!!!! Best Cabin on Vacasa
I booked this spot when it first was listed back in 2020. But when the pandemic happened I canceled and I am so happy I was able to book again in 2022. After looking at the reviews I was a little worried about a couple things, but once I got to the cabin everything was fixed (from the things people said in the reviews).
There was plenty of wood, There's an extra loft spot at the very top of the cabin that the listing didn't mention (which was so cool), a rock climbing section for kids in one of the private rooms (super rad!!), and everything was seriously top-notch.
I am definitely going to book this cabin in the future, and recommended to all my friends and family members.
The only thing I would say is the hot tub lights were not working, and there is no lights in the hot tub section. Thankfully I did bring a couple Christmas lights and hung them above the hot tub so we can see where we were going at night, but that was probably the only thing that I would say needs work.
Everything else was amazing! The cabin was bigger than I even expected, the cabin was in the middle of two other cabins but there was so much space, I didn't even notice them. Such a hidden and beautiful gem! Thank you!
