What a stunning location this apartment is in. We feel we had the best location, the best view and a lovely clean and comfortable apartment making our holiday in Malta just perfect. We travelled in November for 10 nights and were really lucky with the weather. 8 days we had sunshine, we then had 2 days rain,1 dull day and 1 windy day. On the fine days I swam in the harbour which was just down the steps and outside our apartment, as my husband watched in from our balcony. It was just wonderful; still warm and refreshing and so quiet. That’s the thing about Birgu, especially the side that faces Kalkara (which the apartment does), it was so peaceful and beautiful. There is only a footpath outside the apartment so no noisy road to deal with. You’ve then got the harbour and the most beautiful view across to Kalkara. Leaving the apartment and turning left and walking around to the other side which faces Senglea and Valletta, you get all the lovely waterside cafes and restaurants, the ferry that takes you across to Valletta for E1.50 or the small wooden boats for E2. The journey across takes about 5 mins and it’s the best way to reach Valletta which is a vibrant and beautiful city full of amazing restaurants, churches, museums, shops and access to the ferry to Gozo and the main bus station to anywhere else you wish to visit. We did not bother hiring a car, but instead used the local
Buses, the ferries and the odd taxi. All so reasonably priced. Don’t hesitate to book here!

We really enjoyed our stay. The condo location was perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony sipping our coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings soaking up the sights and sounds.

The apartment is in a wonderful position looking out onto the harbour. The pictures online don’t really do it justice it is very big & spacious inside however I would say for a 3 bedroom apartment the balcony is only big enough for two people, but we were out most of the day so it wasn’t too much of a problem.
Unfortunately our flight was delayed so Claire had to wait up until the early hours of the morning to meet us at the apartment which we were grateful for. (If you are arriving out of check in hours there is a fee to pay in cash)
Claire was very helpful when we contacted her needing some help getting a taxi.
We had a lovely family holiday & would recommend this apartment.

We had a lovely week in this apartment. The location, overlooking the Grand Harbour, is amazing with spectacular views.
We were very comfortable in the apartment which is spacious, spotlessly clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed.
Access to Valletta and beyond was very easy by ferry, water taxi or bus. We didn’t feel the need to have a car. There are quite a few restaurants very close to the apartment particularly overlooking the marina.
This was our first visit to Malta but we will definitely be back. Many thanks Irene and Claire.

This was our 2nd stay in this apartment and we love it! The apartment is spacious, well furnished, good functioning appliances, clean. The location could not be better, on the water in Birgu, a lovely little town across the harbor from Valetta. The local manager is available to orient you and to be helpful if you need it. The building is well managed and convenient.

We have just returned from the most wonderful week in this gorgeous apartment. LOCATION is key. Sitting on the balcony each morning watching the cruise ships, military vessels and even a submarine! sail in was the perfect way to start the day. From Birgu, we could walk around to the other 2 of the '3 cities' and a few minutes walk brought you to the gondola rides over to Valetta. Some fabulous restaurants along the waterfront ... CARGO for cocktails between 3-7pm and Don Berto for fabulous food. Up in Birgu square, Be Birgu has lots of specials of the day in a quirky setting! The little convenience store at the end of the waterfront (just passed the American University of Malta) provided all the basics we needed during our stay. Swimming in the sea in front of the apartment was wonderful after a long, hot day sightseeing! Having toured the island I can honestly say we made the right choice in location, right in the heart of Malta's fascinating history, with breathtaking views. Thank you to Claire and Irene for making our stay in Malta a wonderful experience.

The property badly needs refurbishment particularly the bathrooms The shower head had to be replaced during our stay & the ensuite drain didn’t empty fast enough but the fittings are old & tiles are chipped The mattress & pillows in main bedroom very uncomfortable & wifi doesn’t work there It’s all very dated & not upmarket as stated As a result we were extremely disappointed The location right on the water so u can swim is terrific & the property manager Claire couldn’t have been more helpful We stayed 2 weeks - the first week early September There was a Malta Victory celebration & for 5days there were fireworks from a boat in our harbour that went until 11.30 pm Not just normal fireworks but huge explosions so loud we couldn’t hear the TV or sleep Thought we should have been made aware of this intrusion

This is a brilliant place to stay- stunning views, a fantastic balcony and a great location to soak up the history. The apartment is very well appointed with everything you could need- the little extras in terms of dvds and books to borrow as well as washing powder and dishwasher tabs were a lovely addition.
The only possible way it could be better would be if there were a few more mugs and cutlery, but this is the only way it could be improved.
You can swim straight off the rocks just below the apartment, there are pool steps down into the sea for easy access- it is very VERY deep though so not ideal for nervous swimmers or young children.
We will definitely like to stay here again in the future! :)

The location was great! Easy access to restaurants and the water taxi to Valletta! Had a great swim spot right outside the front door, but beware of the jellyfish sometimes. There are no grocery stores that are really close for walking, but we got a BOLT (like an Uber) when we needed to go somewhere. So much history and beautiful sites. We LOVED getting gelato at Sottozero every night, too! The apartment had plenty of space and had most everything we needed. The apartment only came with two small trash bags and since we were staying over a week, that wasn’t enough. They did work on the plumbing without telling us, and we were without water and couldn’t shower or use the bathroom one evening until the plumber could come the next morning. Loved the drying rack for the balcony! Clothes dry SO fast in the sun & breeze in Malta!! Overall, it was a great spot for what we needed.

One of the best
This apartment is very spacious and in a stunning location. Get used to seeing millionaire's yachts, crossing to Valletta in a gondola and swimming right underneath the balcony. Old Birgu itself was an unexpected charm, with narrow quiet streets and picturesque houses.

We stayed 11 days in August, and when we arrived it was 42C, so a/c was an absolute must. The apartment had it in all rooms. The apartment has 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms, a spacious kitchen and living area. The balcony has a small table and chairs for 2 and the view is of the Birgu waterfront (NE side of the peninsula) and across to Valletta, with a swimming area right below. Despite the boats, the water there was perfectly clean enough to swim in, and was a lifesaver in the heat. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay and Claire had kindly stocked the refrigerator with a few essentials, some wine, and there was also tea, coffee and condiments.
Birgu itself was a great location, with picturesque streets but not busy like Valletta. We could park underground at the apartments at no charge. A water taxi can take you across to Valletta for 2 Euros each way per person, and we never had to wait more than a few minutes. It leaves from Birgu Marina (SW side of the peninsula) near the archway by the roundabout outside St Lawrence’s church. We ate an excellent meal at Tal Petut in Birgu, but never ate at the Marina. Cars are so inexpensive to rent in Malta it is worth getting one to allow exploration of the island, though you can definitely get around without one. Having a mobile navigation app is essential!
Overall we enjoyed our stay in Malta, especially the historical sights, beautiful buildings, and clear water. The apartment fit our needs and we would definitely recommend it!

The property manager is most accommodating. If you are thinking of staying in Birgu, stay at this comfortable apartment.

Thanks to Irene,
who rented this fabulous apartment to us,
thanks to Claire, who took her time,
showing us around in all the rooms,
explaining everything to us,
and last but not least, thanks to the maid,
who is keeping everything shining and tidy.
Communication with Irene (booking)
and contact with Claire (at destination)
was perfect.
The apartment's Wi-Fi was working very good.
To avoid wasting time, queueing up at the airport taxi booth,
we had booked a transfer online,,
with very reliable MCabs.
If going to Valletta, there are small Luzzu boats,
this side of the creek, but if not too acrobatic and daring,
better take the regular ferry boat at the other side of creek.
With this ticket the use of the lift to Upper Barrakkas
in Valletta is included.
The Luzzu boats are not offering a ticket.
There is a good choice of restaurants,
just a step outside the apartment,
all of them are very recommendable.
At the main square, there are a few shops
for food: vegetable, bread, wine, beer, and so on.
The store 'Fort Bottles & More' (also main square)
on Sunday is even open until 7 pm.
Thank you again Irene, Claire and the maid.
Kindest regards:

Our experience renting this property was wonderful, we never tired of the view to the harbour, swimming right out front and the village square was the most welcoming spot. The shops in the square offered our daily requirements and the local Tuesday market sold fruit, veg , clothes, wine and grocery items. It was easy to go back and forth from Valletta by both water taxi and ferry. It was also easy to catch the local bus to places as well. The the different museums and the fort were easy walking distance. The unit was spacious and cool even on the hottest days, our only slight disappointment was the floors and the kitchen drainer in the property could have been cleaner and we we not supplied with beach towels.

Absolutely loved our stay. The quietness of the area, not overlooked and marvelous view, is a real tonic.
Communication with Irene and manager Claire is first rate.
We loved the feeling of space the apartment gives, and a big bonus, for Brits, the electrical sockets are UK standard. Beds are comfortable, as are the dining and living room furniture. would have appreciated more than one hand and bath towel each, but it's a minor detail.
There was no front door key for the building, security guy told us they hadn't arrived, so we accessed via the garage and used the lift (elevator)
Nice little welcome pack, especially appreciate the coffee maker for that money cup.
Great area to walk around, the local David bakery in Kalkara, about 20 minute slow walk, is a real find as it stocks all the basic and more, there is a grocer than visits Kalkara on Monday and Thursday, sells from his van, and his produce is really fresh.
A must visit is Fort St Angelo, especially if you want to learn the history of this part of the island, it's quite literally 2 minutes walk from the apartment and is a couple of hours well spent. Keep your ticket it gives access to other historic areas.
Only about 3 restaurants on the Birgu waterfront but the prices are reasonable and the food good. There are more across the water in Senglea.
Easy boat trip from the 3 Cities ferry terminal to Valletta, takes around 10 mins and runs every 30 minutes, €2.60 for adults under 60 and €0.90 for over 60's, which is a bargain, and includes cost of the lift (elevator) to Barrakka Gardens.
Thank you Irene and Claire, we loved out stay.

Fabulous apartment, with harbor views
This apt is lovely, modern, clean and comfortable. The views of Kalkara and Valetta are just fabulous and a short walk to the Birgu Harbor. Unfortunately there was a huge storm which pounded the apt block, especially hard hit was our block. Luckily we were on the 2nd floor, the first floor got flooded., and power was lost. We had to evacuate for 3 days. When we came back the apt was fine but the hallways were still without lights. This was a “once in a century “ occurrence. Irene (owner) and Claire (manager) helped us with relocating for a few days and we’re always in touch. I understand that each day things are getting better and more restoration is happening. In spite of it all, we had a wonderful time in Malta and I would not hesitate to go back to this apt.

After different stays around Europe so nice to see an apartment that looks exactly like in the website, actually better.
We were two couples and the apartment was just perfect, clean, well organized, nice furniture, well equipped kitchen and what a magical view.
Thank you Claire for attending to all our needs.
Spend our days all around the island, so much to see and do, but came back to Vittoriosa to eat in the lovely cobble stone street cafes and on the restaurants on The Marina.
What a treat!!!!

My husband and I and our two girls spent a wonderful holiday in this great apartment, very pleased to see that it looks just like in the photos on the website, and what a view!!!!
As we toured by car all around the island, it was so convenient to have been provided with a complimentary parking spot for the whole of our stay.
We enjoyed watching the boats coming into the harbor in the evening from the comfort of our balcony.
So many places to eat just walking distance from the apartment, on the Main Square, on the Marina and wondering through the little narrow streets, good food and well priced.

THE BEST LOCATION IN MALTA
After a full day of sightseeing, what a pleasure to come back to Birgu/Vittoriossa on the ferry and walk to the apartment after stopping on the Vittoriossa Marina for a great cappuccino and a cake.
Love going around the island, so much to do and see, but at the end of the day we looked forward to returning to the spacious, clean and well appointed apartment with all the comforts of home.
Easy booking process and great welcome on arrival, so nice to find, coffee, sugar, tea, milk, a coffee machine including coffee pods and a welcome basket of goodies, waiting for us.
Highly recommended!!!!

Our stay 8-15 January
We have regretfully returned home after a week long stay in this beautiful tip top shape apartment, complete with all amenities and spotless. Myself my wife and three kids stayed here from 8th to 15th January 2019. The contact person met us at the apartment and wen through everything with us. I sincerely cannot recommend this place enough. It sits just over the sea inlet and the view is amazing. Rooms comfortable, beds and bedding exactly as we like them and kitchen equipped with all that is required. Coffee machine was a plus. Thank you Irene and Claire we will definitely return.

RIGHT ON THE WATER FRONT
After staying in other apartments in Europe where we got very stressed looking for somewhere to park and then had to drag our luggage through the streets, then finding that the apartment was several floors up without a lift, it was a pleasure to arrive to this apartment with a lift and complementary parking right in the same building.
The apartment is very spacious, well-furnished and very clean, and the view is simply spectacular, we spend many evenings looking at the boats passing by while zipping a glass of wine or two.
I recommend taking the water ferry to Valletta, a lovely journey, The inquisitors Palace and Fort St Angelo worth visiting all just walking distance from the apartment.
Will be back next year!!!
