We had a fabulous 7-nights stay at Constantia Vista.
At entering the apt. what struck me immediately was how sparkling clean our spacious apartment was. The little touches, a bottle of wine, cold drinks in the fridge, sweets on our pillows, made us feel very welcome.
This self-catering apartment is well equipped with every need for a comfortable long stay: a real home away from home.
One of the highlights was certainly the panoramic views and the breathtaking sunrises over the mountains, We also highly enjoyed the quiet and peace of this beautiful place, located on top of a hill. Yet conveniently close to excellent vineyards, restaurants and shopping facilities.
Constantia Vista luckily has solar panels. During load-sheddings the power is being transfered seamless from the solar power system. So, we never had the inconvenience of dealing with power fall-out anymore, a major problem nowadays in South Africa, and this problem will get worse the coming years.
Last but certainly not least, we were well looked after by Ian and his staff. Ian is a superhost. His warm hospitality made our stay a pleasure, like staying at a friend’s house.
We can highly recommend Constantia Vista Guesthouse for a spoiled stay. We have just booked our next 30-night stay.
Don't wait, just book!

Our unit was spacious with plenty of outdoor space from which the view was great. We were on a long holiday so having a washing machine was a major plus. You could easily walk / jog / cycle to Groot Constantia on quiet roads.

The view is absolutely magic. We would be great in summer to sit and braai overlooking the southern part of cape town. Winelands and up to false bay.
All was absolutely brilliant

Travel experiences are often driven by expectations. In this instance, our expectations about Constantia Vista had been driven up by the positive reviews and the beautiful pictures on the advertising blurb. In response, we arrived hoping for great views and a bit of luxury, but what we experienced was a lot more mundane. We stayed in the double-story, two-bedroomed unit. The magnificent views were only available from the bedrooms, and not the living area, as the windows on that side had been boarded up, something we didn’t realise on an initial viewing of the unit. The towels were not fluffy and white. In fact, they were ancient and scratchy. The bedlinen was tired and inadequate and we had to use the duvet from the second bedroom to provide some much-needed warmth. The contents of the unit, especially the kitchen, were a hotch-potch of items that might have been rescued from a garage sale and there was a general air of tiredness about the place.
On a practical level, the wi-fi connection was iffy, which is a consideration these days when people are required to work away from home. We arrived in what was technically spring, but winter had not yet loosened its grip. Being double-volume, the place was very cold and the built-in gas fireplace was out of bounds because of some problem or other. The standalone gas fire did a reasonable job but it was the sort of weather that called for a cheery hearth.
As others have pointed out, Ian is indeed an affable host, but actually, the person who gets things done is Siya, the Major Domo. He is versatile, talented, and does everything with a smile. He brought an element of warmth to our stay. The rate for our stay was not excessive, but the experience failed to deliver on the promise inherent in the photos and the reviews. Most disappointing.

The view and well equipped venue. We were specifically looking for a jacuzzi, but when the weather turned bad, the owner moved us to a room with a spa bath!
Nothing they owner or venue could improve - the weather was just horrible.
