Remote and peaceful horse farm on Faial. The facilities are very modern, clean and well kept which is a rare thing on the Azores. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Modern indoor/outdoor pool was available which is great after a hot summers day here. Great breakfast spread, including correctly cooked scrambled eggs which is rare for a buffet style breakfast. Tasty fruit salad, yogurts, cheeses and pastries were all available. Breakfast could be had in a sunroom or outside looking on the horse arena.
Location of the accommodation was very remote. Without our own transport option we found it impossible to explore the surroundings unless we had more time at the property (stayed one night). If the property offered a few free to use bicycles this would be a tops farm stay option on Faial. No aircon or fans in the rooms, during summer this could be very unpleasant to heat sensitive guests.

Nice view, breakfast was okay. Friendly staff.
Our room was above the kitchen, and their preparations for breakfast woke us up every morning. Also, the restaurant is good, but overpriced.

The apartments were so cozy and beautiful. I had a fantastic view on the ocean. The breakfast was very tasty, there was a great selection. It was great fun getting to know the island on the day rides. The horses are well trained, are kept in a manner appropriate to their species and you can tell that they are having fun on the rides.
Unfortunately, there were few vegetarian and vegan options at dinner.

Very nice place with pleasant people that take care of you, comfy room with view and all you need
Good breakfast
Location is beautiful
Sympathic horse trails adapted also to experienced horse riders trough beautiful landscape
Good food
Diner and horse trail are a little bit expensive...
Insulation can be slightly not enough when they tidy up the kitchen or prepare breakfast

Nice place and confortable.
When we arrived on the first day, we waited for one hour to have somebody at the reception.
Make sure to take a picture of the mini-bar fridge when you arrive. They charged us for a snickers, kitkat and a bottle of water which were never in the mini-bar fridge!
They propose every night a dinner which is nice. But it is expensive to pay 5€ for a slice of pineapple as a dessert.
The place is not well located. You need to have a car or you can take the bus (there are only two per day)

It is a very modern establishment especially for horse riding. The appartments are great with a spacious bedroom , living room and a private garden with a view of the ocean. The swimming pool was amazing. Good breakfast and excellent dinner to order. Great communication with management before and during stay.
The ony problem is to get there. You absolutely need to hire a car in advance. We got stuck in Horta at 10 in the evening without a chance to get a taxi. The manager saved us coming to pick us up, but you cannot rely on it. Always make reservation in the local restaurants before hand.

Very nice area, facilities and staff. Horse riding a pleasure.. Kids loved the swimming pool
Food in general. The breakfast could be improved.. At least some more choice in natural juices/cold cuts/jams. Eggs for extra price, unusual. Dinner ok but a bit overpriced (wrt Horta).

Horseback riding was amazing even in bad weather, must do if staying here!
- Breakfast was nice and convenient.
- Great hospitality, let us pick room with softest bed. Had offsite tiny house unit that was very cool.
- Excited for new pool to open soon!
- Great view, outstanding hospitality and check-in experience.
- Add the fancy fruit plate, worth the additional fee!
Little inconvenient bringing in luggage with a long gravel driveway.

Our room was very good. We had to checkout very early and the Stuff has done a small breakfast pack to take on the way. Very kind.
Location is not the best if you want to stay closer to Horta city. Is still 30 minutes driving.

Staying at Patio Horse & Lodge was an exceptional experience. Victor and the entire staff was so helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the cottage and it so much fun looking out on the pasture and seeing a terrific view of the Atlantic, the horses and cattle. Diogo, the manager of the horses and farm took us on two trail rides and showed us the area. Could not have asked for a better riding experience. The horses are beautiful and very well trained. This was one of the most relaxing environments we could have asked for. Carla prepared tasteful meals and always with a smile she presented beautiful dishes. Sandra took us on a hiking trip to the volcano and she is so knowledgeable-highly recommend. Christina helped us with some travel arrangements-everyone was so helpful and friendly. Last mention goes to Lucky and Nina to Patio pups who made the stay all that much better. Thanks for hanging out with us. It helped us not miss out dog as much!
