Charming and relaxing.

it is a charming property along the river. The ammenities were good and I enjoyed cooking sausages in the camp kitchen.

nice modern hotel, but room very small,

clean room, everything worked. Helpful staff

- rooms too small. There is so much space, no reason to make the room Japanese hotel size. - the bed keps sliding away from each other. No reason not to have something that holds them together

It was excellent for a week!

The location was perfect for the northern lights and the staff was very friendly! The supermarket is 2km away. The husky safari was awesome! And we took beautiful walks in the nature.

There was no kitchen in March. The transfer service is expensive.

wonderful vacation

the location was ideal. Our room was cosy and the beds were very comfortable. The restaurant Chef deserves praise as well, easily the best food we had in the town. Only the reindeer dish was very oily, greasy and not worth it’s money. all the other dishes were very great and tasty. Salmon soup was my favourite.

ice fishing activity is quite expensive and the snow walk could be a bit longer. I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for the snow walk and doing a longer hike as a result. Our guide Tomas (sorry for spelling) is a very friendly and knowledgeable guy. laid back and good attitude

An isolated place to chill

Room 6 was suitably furnished, modern in good repair, a bit crowded with 2 lounge chairs. The room did feature a small shelf for preparing hot drinks, altho inadequate as a table/desk work area. Bathroom was modern, water not overly hot. Location is directly on the river, nicely isolated on a long oxbow. They feature a restaurant with an ala carte dinner menu, prices didn't seem outrageous. Seeing the hordes of tourists emerging at the airport, this was a good choice for a more relaxed experience. WLAN was usable.

Room in a block of 10 rooms, tight and packed together. There are many more bungalows available, however they apparently were not in use. Excessive noise could have easily been an issue. Location is a bit challenging - there appears to be no public transport from the airport IVL to Ivalo, so the choice is either taxi or shuttle. (As I had too much time, I walked the 9 Km along a wide bike path.) It is also approx 2 Km from Ivalo, which features a hotel restaurant and 3 markets. The facility is signed as "Näverniemi lomakylä" (which does not translate to "Arctic River Resort") however it seems to be the only facility in that road, in spite of the indicated GPS location being somewhat off.

Exceptional

Nice, clean and well equiped house. Comfort and warm. Privet sauna. Quiet place. Close to the river. Many atractions: ice-fishing, cross-country skiing. Autora borealis - just out of the house or visible also throug the window 🙂🌌 It was our 3rd time in this place (2times in winter, once in summer) - recommended in both of those seasons.

We absolutely enjoyed staying at the Resort and would come back either winter or summer!

The rooms are newly renovated, very clean and have modern furniture. The staff is very friendly and helpful and does speak English. Staff helps with booking tours and airport transfer. The sauna is new and very nice to use, you can jump into the river or snow afterwards. Snowshoes, skies (cross-country), sledges and kick-sledges are available. The breakfast is of good and solid quality, always fresh fruit and vegetables. The resort has a restaurant, which offers good quality food at reasonable prices for Finland. The owner made us aware of Northern Lights as well!

It would be nice to have more hooks in the bathroom for towels. A drying cabinet for wet skiing/sports clothes in a shared facility would be nice.

Great winter time vacation stay for a couple.

The property is under new management. The rooms and restaurant have been renovated. Everything is clean and nice. The staff of the resort and restaurant are amazing! we fell in love with them. This place will be amazing during the summer!

I would like to visit in the summer when there are more things to do outside.

Perfect, cosy and friendly place to stay!

Great little place to stay, super cosy and comfortable, staff were super helpful and kind. They even got us sleds for us all to ride. Great location to see the Northern Lights. We caught them twice 100meters from our cottage.

Exceptional

New name of accomodation Arctic River Resort. The place and owner Mika is really helpful and nice man. Our house is peacefully and nice , a sauna is perfect. The kitchen is fully equipped.We could see the northern lights from the room. The breakfast is great ( bread cheese, juice, coffee, tea, sausage, cheese, three types of bread, boiled eggs, tomatoes, salads, porridge).

Great location , Helpful owners ,Clean beds, Clean linens and towels . Aurora borealis if you get the chance. There are deep pots and frying pans, cutlery, ladles, etc. Bring your own coffee powder and paper filters. If you have a car, there is a supermarket nearby, so shopping is convenient.

An excellent place for nature lovers and solo travelers.

It is an excellent location for nature lovers. Peace and silence. Boarding the canoe when traveling down the river is right next to the campsite. Suitable for solo travelers.

I was missing 2-3 pots in the kitchen

Very nice and clean small cabin with additional amenities (microwave etc)., exceeded expectations

The small cabin was extremely clean and very well equipped compared to comparable overnighting/camping cabins I have seen elsewhere (the cabin had a water boiler, coffee machine and a microwave). Sauna (for additional fee) was also clean and pleasant. Friendly and helpfull staff (owner?).

We had an unforgettable time in Nothern Finland.

Henry organised all activities and Paivi made a very delicious breakfast and dinner. They are really very nice hosts. We did not need to rent a car because transfer for the activities, e.g. husky safary was organised and we could walk to the supermarket. We could even see the northern lights and only needed to walk a few meters to the river.

Good place to stay. Henri and Paivi are very helpful. We could see aurora nearby, close to river (it was dark enough there to see it). Highly recommeded, we are going to come again.
