Great week away from work in an iconic hotel...

Lovely place, steeped in history. Cool having the bars and nightclub onsite.... Place where you can really let loose by day & Night

Quirky but needs renovation

Pikes hotel is an iconic, quirky, unique venue. The poolside area was the location for Wham’s ‘Club Tropicana’ video. The staff are fabulous - friendly and attentive. The food is exquisite. The venue offers oat milk and vegan menu options. The crispy tofu with noodle salad is the best I’ve ever had !. Tony Pike’s book about the hotel is worth a read before you visit. The public areas are kept clean - poolside area hosed down daily and the lounge bed covers changed twice a day. The poolside DJs play some great, chilled, relaxing tracks to provide a great atmosphere.

Only minor things really. It’s nice to be away in a quiet area, but it is too far to walk to the nearest town. Not on a bus route either. Approximately £10 each way for a taxi, each time you want to leave. so it does get expensive. The staff are fantastic and will organise a taxi if you ask at reception. My husband has been a Hotel Manager at various venues for 13 years, so we probably notice things at hotels that others don’t. Whilst this lovely place has ‘character’, minor, basic maintenance is lacking in places. We had a suite. Whilst it was clean, there was rust around the bath grouting and plug hole. This would be easily rectified with some cheap grout or enamel paint. The cost is mere pennies, considering the high rates that they charge. The need for renovation had been pointed out to them over 6 months ago by another reviewer. Whilst the venue replied positively, it appears that during low season, they have not done minimal repairs. In the bedroom, whilst the bed was comfortable and large, it was two mattresses pushed together. Which meant you could roll into the dip in the middle. One of the bedside cabinets had a latch missing. Again, a basic, cheap, repair. So the cabinet door was unable to be closed. The door would swing permanently open, and you would knock it whilst getting in/out of bed. We had hoped to go to Freddies nightclub whilst there. There was an event advertised on their website. Staff told us it would be open at 10 pm, so we got dressed to the nines. Went down at 10pm, 11 pm and 12 am, only to eventually be told it wasn’t opening at all that night. Quite disappointing, as we never got to see inside there. Be careful to choose which nights you stay. We had a lovely chilled trip up until the last evening - I love to party (I’m a DJ) but only to party by choice.

Bohemian paradise

From the moment we arrived the staff were exemplary; the vibe was so, so relaxing; the food, drinks and music were fabulous. All other guests and visitors were friendly and embraced the relaxing and fun atmosphere. We had 4 days in paradise.

Always a Great Experience at the Unique Pikes Hotel

Pikes is unique. No other hotel remotely like it anywhere. We are regulars and love it there.

Loved it.

The pool area is amazing. The restaurant serves excellent food and the atmosphere of the whole place is perfect. The staff make you feel like you’re part of the fam.

The bed should be more comfortable.

Hotel was amazing, but bed could have been more comfortable. Also a small shelve in the room to put things would have been perfect. Also in the bathroom 0 place to put stuff. Easy to fix though. Staff at reception never seemed to be happy to be there. But the ladies (cleaning and at breakfast) were really kind.

Pleasant

The place is very eclectic and ‘photogenic’. Most of the staff were friendly and the juices great. The rooms are outdated but clean and spacious (we stayed in a suite).

The beds are really old and uncomfortable. As if they are still from the era of Tony Pikes. This hotel is ok if you are middle-aged, looking for nostalgia and getting drunk at a steep price. If not, there are better options at Ibiza

loved the authenticity and honesty of the property and location. quirky, fun and fabulous. every corner you turn there is something to see.

the bed in room number 8 - uncomfortable and needs changing. for us the bed is a really important factor - needs to be comfortable! felt old
