Loved the location. Walked to breakfast, dinner and out for drinks. Toured 4 distilleries and home to watch the OSU football game. The kitchen was well equipped. Nice neighborhood to walk in the morning. The basement someday will make a great game room and bar! We will be back for another visit.

We are 2 couples in our 40’s and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cottage in the Rye. We used it as our base camp for exploring the Bourbon trail. It was conveniently drivable for various distilleries, walkable to many restaurants and bars, and had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for us, albeit a relatively tight upstairs half-bath. We also enjoyed the dining room for playing cards and drinking after a long day on the trail. The house was well stocked with things like salt, sugar, coffee and accoutrements, etc. All in all we enjoyed our stay at Cottage in the Rye.

If your looking for a great hub for the bourbon trail this is it! You will need a car to get around. During our stay we went to Louisville, Lexington and the distillers around Bardstown all within less than an hour away!
The house has an old farm/cottage feel. It had plenty of small things that make renting a house nice such as plenty of paper towels, TP, spices & herbs, tinfoil and such along with plenty of towels & blankets.
The check in was easy and simple with no hassle and Ashley was super accommodating and super responsive.

Had a great time at this cottage. Older home but very cute on the inside. Lots of room. Nice new bathroom in basement. Great location. Can walk into town easily.
Be aware that one bedroom upstairs does not have air conditioning. It does have a ceiling fan which helped in extreme heat.
Outside of the home could really use some sprucing up, e.g., pressure wash, paint, weeding. There is a nice size back yard which would be wonderful to use except it was very overgrown and not inviting.

My husband, I and a friend drove from Chicago to Bardstown to check out the distilleries in the area. We loved our stay at the Cottage in the Rye! The cottage was clean, comfortable and in a great area. Would highly recommend!!!

My sister and I stayed a few days with our adult sons on a Mom/Son trip. This location was perfect; and easily walkable to downtown. The large living room and kitchen provided comfortable spaces for just hanging out together. The separate dining room is great for breakfast in or playing cards. The house is well stocked with the essentials. We'd definitely stay there again.

My wife absolutely loved this house. It's a beautiful older house and very well furnished with a lot of bourbon décor. We were 6 and had plenty of space. Great location just a few blocks from downtown Bardstown.

The inside was clean and supplied with everything we needed. Beds were comfy, plenty of towels and kitchen well equipped. One bedroom upstairs did not have air conditioning but was cool enough. 2nd bedroom upstairs had a window unit. Main level full air. The outside needs some maintenance. We did enjoy sitting on the patio, but the overgrown plants and weeds were not ideal. It could be a beautiful yard if it were lanscaped. Over-all we were pleased with our choice, and the owner was very easy to work with.

Place was roomy, clean, and neat. It was a pleasant surprise to see the basement bathroom refinished with a stand-up shower! Woohoo! The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Loved the roominess of the place and feel of a great older house. Great location for most of the tours. Would definitely stay again!

Three friends stayed in Bardstown at the Cottage in the Rye for the weekend. Loved our cottage, clean, comfy and cozy. Toured Makers Mark, enjoyed the Stephen Foster Show, took the luncheon train and also toured the home Stephen Foster would stay in. The cottage was a perfect location to do and see every attraction. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.

The Cottage in the Rye was all that it was advertised to be. Quaint, great location, lovely back yard patio, a fun place to stay. We were there for a family reunion (Hurst, Brown and Bryant families) and the cottage met our needs fully.

House was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was tight for two people. Second full bath is downstairs. No curtains on the windows in the kitchen or dining room which was a little creepy. No cable tv which was not a big issue but would have liked to watch local news/weather at night. Overall was satisfied with the house. Would stay in this house again.

I wish that the check in Book was more in-depth. I had a hard time communicating with the property manager. First Text and then email.
She wasn’t able to help with get me connected to the local cable at all. Normally not a big deal but my mother wanted to watch the thanksgiving day parade and my father wanted to watch football for thanksgiving. Had to go to a neighbors house and watch it (football) on their Basic cable:(.

This place was everything we needed. We were right in the heart of Bourbon Country. Downtown has great food options and small business shopping. I highly recommend this place.

House was convenient to areas we wanted to see. Very good kitchen set up. The biggest problem was trying to communicate through the VRBO app. It wouldn’t load my messages. Fortunately the owner was very responsive to text communication.

This home is located in a quiet neighborhood which is an easy walk from downtown Bardstown. The home was well kept and clean. It provided us a nice base for visiting distilleries on the Bourbon Trail. I will try to book this property again when we return to the area.

House was very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to Bardstown square (4 1/2 blocks). Beds were very comfortable and has everything you might need. It is a very old house..so be prepared for some small bathrooms. Overall a great experience.

My wife and I had a small wedding and then stayed in Bardstown for the weekend. This place was, as my wife said, very cute. We both loved the property and it’s right next to the center of town where all the restaurants/bars are. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again!

Such a beautiful cottage on a pretty street. Plenty of room for our girls trip. Very clean and quaint. Super location for parking after distillery visits during the day, then walking to other bars and restaurants for nighttime fun. Would definitely book again and actually looking at dates already to come back. Owner thought of everything to make it a perfect rental.

This property accommodated our needs as home base while exploring distilleries in the area. Getting inside was super easy and key free. Room/beds comfortable. A nice living room area with plenty of seating and a TV. 6 person single table was perfect for our board games. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved being able to walk to dinner most nights. The neighborhood trees were in full bloom and made it a delightful stroll. We spent most of our time visiting the distilleries in the area, and didn't take full use of the charming back yard. The kitchen was fully equipped, so it was easy to make hearty breakfast before sipping our bourbon! We hope to return!
