My two friends and I stayed at Sean and Brad's lovely home in Asbury Park for a reunion. The first floor of the house and the basement apartment combined to provide 3 comfortable bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, two of which were updated with state-of-the-art fixtures. The house was very spacious, nicely furnished and well supplied with everything a guest could need. We really felt like we were staying in someone's home and not a rental. There is a lovely porch and a backyard as well. Sean and Brad couldn't have been any more welcoming or nicer to us. Asbury Park and nearby Ocean Grove have great restaurants and we loved walking on the boardwalk. We had a wonderful time and hope to come back in the Fall.

We loved the gas fireplace on the main level, and were impressed with the selection of streaming services available on the tv!

We rented this house for a brief weekend and it was perfect for our needs! Each of us had our own room and space for ourselves but the common area was spacious enough to share together! We loved it!

We loved riding the bikes to the beach, usually with one person driving to bring the beach chairs and umbrellas, also provided. The bathrooms have been recently modernized and are quite stunning. The kitchen and rest of the house is not renovated, so has a comfortable, lived-in feel. We appreciated the porch especially, which was a great place to hang out. The sofa bed in the Fireplace Room was reported to be unusually comfortable. All in all, good communication with owners and the perfect late summer experience we were hoping for.

All of my interactions with the hosts was very efficient and helpful. I stayed there with a female friend and our teenage boys and we all agreed that if we came back to Asbury Park, which we likely will, we would rent this house again. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the Big Blue House for three nights for a family beach vacation. My husband and I have a 4 year old and an 18 month old. The house was clean and conveniently located. We drove to the beach (parking at the beach was fairly cheap and widely available during the week), but walking would be possible. The renovated spaces in the home were beautiful, as was the outside of the house. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evenings, and our 4 year old loved the trampoline. The additional apartment is actually located in the basement, which didn't work for nighttime sleeping for out family. However, it would be great for a group with older children or just adults. But at over $2,900.00 for 4 nights, after fees, it's extremely expensive, and privacy from the host was a real problem. Our only gripes were with privacy. When you rent the ground floor, you'll see that hanging out in the yard, at the dining table, you're probably less than 6 feet from the next door neighbors' porch. So it can feel like they're on top of you, when they're using their yard, though our interactions with them were all friendly. However, you also have the upstairs apartment, with its large outdoor deck that overlooks the garden. This means if anyone is renting the upstairs space, they'll pretty much be looking down at you as they hang out in their space. This was not a huge deal, but it did make us feel like we were being watched. This was especially true when we realized that the hosts were staying upstairs from us. Not that we NEEDED privacy for anything in particular, but it's obviously uncomfortable to have anyone, but especially the hosts "watching" you hang out. But the biggest issue with privacy came when we were checking out. There was 10am check out, so we asked the hosts for a late checkout, and they replied that they couldn't because they had another group checking that day. That's understandable, but the morning we were checking out and cleaning up after ourselves, we realized by 9:40 am that the host had already entered the basement of the apartment which we had paid for, and had begun cleaning that room while we were still there. This would be completely unacceptable at any price, but when you're paying over $725 per day, you'd think they could respect guests personal space, and could afford to pay for help cleaning if they need more time so badly. The house also shows its age a bit, and the kitchen feels like it hasn't been updated since the 70's, but otherwise everything works, so it was never an issue. The bathrooms were redone, and we really loved the design of the one near the kitchen. The house is also very spacious, and we never felt lacking from linens, to bikes and cookware, and we enjoyed spreading out. We spent most time in the garden, with its beautiful landscape. It's great for grilling, eating at the outdoor table, jumping on the trampoline, catching some sun in the open spaces, or enjoying the shady spots, and taking outdoor showers.

My family and I stayed on floor 1 and we had a great time. The place is so charming with lots of spaces to hang out in the yard and porch. Owners were so nice and accommodating I hope to stay here again!

My family rented the top floors for the week and added the bottom floors toward the end of our trip for more family to join us. My sister lives in Asbury Park and this was a great place to gather the whole family. The house was very comfortable and had plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. We gathered every morning and evening on the back and front porches and in the yard. One person drove to the beach with the stuff daily and the others biked. The bikes were great. Not a bad walk to everything. Would highly recommend. Hosts were great.

We loved everything about our stay! The house is so charming and comfortable, has all the amenities one may need and is close enough to everything. I liked that it wasn't directly on the beach and was in a beautiful neighborhood. The yard was so inviting and great to hang out in. Owners were very receptive to our needs. Can't recommend enough!
