The cabin is cute, but not secluded at all. You are surrounded by other homes/cabins very close by, a major road and storage unit center, so it doesn't feel like you're "getting away from it all."
It is described as a "Luxury Cabin," but it's an overused marketing term. Luxury isn't this. As noted, it's a cute little cabin, but not luxurious. "Luxury" implies a high level of presentation not present here. We are not clean freaks, but we were disappointed by the level of dust on most surfaces when we arrived, suggesting it hadn't been diligently cleaned in a long while.
We felt like we had to do a lot of cleaning while here to feel comfortable, more so than in our own home. There was no dishwasher (despite signage saying put dishes in the dishwasher). We were washing dishes before use and washing them afterwards. There were several cereal bowls that had clearly been used, not cleaned after, and just put back in the cabinet. That was a big "ick" factor.
The fireplace hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival, so I cleaned out the ash and cut some kindling before we could make a fire (and then cleaned out the fireplace again the morning we left). Again, it felt like we were cleaning a lot and leaving the cabin in a better condition than when we had arrived. It didn't feel at times like the relaxing couple of days we were hoping for, what with the cleaning, dusting, and washing we did. A cute cabin, but not a luxury cabin, if that's what you're expecting. 3/5.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Red Fox Den. It’s well stocked, perfectly clean, and well taken care of! There was plenty of firewood readily available, and it was a nice touch having specific blankets that were designated to take outside and enjoy around the fire. The kitchen had anything we possibly needed for our meals in. Beds were comfortable with warm flannel linens for the season. Very much appreciated each bedroom having sound machines and wireless charging stations! Bathroom shower stall also had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and around the sink was a container of qtips, face pads, and cotton balls available in the event your forgot to pack your own. Plenty of towels and wash clothes at the ready.
These aren’t so much complaints as just FYI’s for future bookers- the property is not as isolated as shown in the aerial pictures, there’s been lots of development behind the cabin of other rentals; there is another cabin to one side, and on the other a trailer. That being said, it’s still a VERY quiet area and you can still enjoy your privacy. Another thing no longer there is the wooden playground- while it wasn’t a deciding factor for us, my kids were looking forward to it and were a little disappointed it was no longer. Just small things worth noting for future clients, but shouldn’t be deal breakers.
Overall we’d definitely stay again and enjoyed our time of relaxation and unplugging from the hustle of day to day life.

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. The hot tub overlooking the creek was the best part! The cabin was a great size for a family of 4 and the location was nice being close to the main road, but still tucked back in and felt secluded. The only negative to me would be that fireplace made the place smell smoky even without being used.

This is a great little cabin with a really nice wrap around porch. It was clean and a convenient location. We were there just for three days to do come hiking. It couldn't have been more perfect for us.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay. Loved the coziness, quiet and secluded atmosphere. Yet not far at all to sights and activities. We all want to return and stay longer! We hated to leave.

This was such a beautiful and cozy cabin for our family of three. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was stocked with almost anything needed. The hot tub was amazing and the creek behind the property was fun for our young son. The location was perfect for getting to Beaver's Bend lake and restaurants.

The cabin was very beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay. The cabin did smell like smoke from the fireplace and was a bit difficult to find without an address.

Our family of four (parents and two kids, aged 5 and 1) had a great week staying at the Red Fox Den. The amenities were very thoughtful and everything was well-stocked. The cabin felt very rustic and homey and we were comfortable in no time. The cabin is close enough to "civilization" to be within a 5-minute drive of stores and restaurants but felt like we were tucked away in the woods- the creek running behind the cabin was so peaceful! It was a very easy drive to Beaver's Bend State Park and any activities in Hochatown. We can't wait to come back again!

Overall we had a good time at this property. The photos are accurate and it was clean. The bedrooms were a good size and the bathroom was nice and big, with a washer and dryer included. It is close to Hochatown and the lake, which made exploring the town, finding fishing spots and hiking easy. That is the point of going to the area, after all!
Having the hot tub and fire pit were perfect for ending the days, especially since the first night we were there we discovered that none of the 3 TVs worked and there wasn't any internet. I messaged the owner that night but never received a response. We were a little bummed but in the end TV/internet wasn't a necessity for us. Tip for future vacationers - bring soap/shampoo for the shower!
For those wondering about the neighborhood - there is a development of a-frame cabins and an RV park going up behind the property but there is a tree line and small stream that separate it. There is a neighbor on one side and the other side is a vacant lot. Across the street is a cabin rental operating facility, so after business hours it was quiet and felt private.
Hopefully this is helpful for those searching for a getaway spot! We hope to return to the area soon!

short get away
Property was close to everything, especially Beavers Bend. The house was clean, except for pet hair everywhere, I thought the property was pet free, but there was pet hair in the beds and furniture., was ok with it, we brought our own cleaning supplies, just to be safe. The owner was quick to respond. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. Kitchen was well stocked and complete with everything you need. One thing I didn't like, the noise that the air conditioner makes when it blows to a frame, it makes rattling sound, could not sleep.. earplugs helped. All in all, we had an awesome stay. Will recommend.

My husband and I had a fantastic weekend. This cabin was perfect, would have been great for two couples as well! Very clean, cute decorations, and loved the hot tub. It was on a pretty big piece of land which was nice and the back porch felt semi private (no house behind, only neighbors to the sides) Great location as well.

The property was as described and seen in the pictures. This was a perfect secluded getaway during Covid. We were able to explore Hochatown and come back to a nice relaxing dip in the hot tub. It was exactly the getaway we needed. I would definitely recommend booking.

Nice Cabin
It was a great stay. I wish the house wasn’t so close to the main highway. The pictures made it seem a little more secluded. Overall, very nice cabin. Close to town and easy access to Hochaton and state parks.

The cabin was very cozy, and clean! We enjoyed the hot tub, and was nice to have tv since we ended up having to stay indoors one day! Loved the covered area of the porch bc we actually sat out for a bit and listened to the rain and watched the creek fill up at the back!

Great for staying close to attractions and relaxing
We enjoyed our cabin and the hot tub was great! The cabin setup was nice and it was close to everything. We were glad that there was wood already on site to use for out door fire pit or fireplace inside. We we'd love to stay there again.
