Amazing location. Staff were very helpful and spoke ok English.

We booked a total of 3 rooms and 2 days prior to check-in, they cancelled 2 out of our 3 rooms! Ruined our vacation. Terrible service!

Had a windowless room, it was stuffy. Staff wouldn't move me because I booked a classic room, only to realize the second floor room is the only room without a window (I peaked in other rooms while they were cleaning). Room was also right above the kitchen so we had a 5am banging wake up call every day. The foyer smelled like a toilet. They don't rinse their mop. Expedia's fault for posting as a 5 star and when I realized from Google it was only 3 star, it was too late to refund. Half the pictures fake and other half very glamorized. Can Expedia follow-up on the false advertising?

The location is great but the hotel is terrible at best. It rates itself as a 4 Star hotel but this hotel should really be a 1 or 2 Star hotel.
Not sure how so many reviews gave it positive reviews but this is possibly the worst hotel you will encounter in Hanoi.
The bathroom tiles are chipped and falling apart. Mold and mildew present in bathroom sink and shower stalls. Barely any hot water for showers. Toilet constantly drips so you can hear the hissing all night long. The floors are dirty and the tables are dusty. Clearly no house keeping is performed at this property.
Dysfunctional hotel at best with poor customer service.
Find other accommodations as the photos are deceiving.

It pains me to write about a poor experience because there are nice emoployees involved who were kind, helpful and did their best within the limitations of their manager and the Victor hotel group.
What you’ll like:
1) convenient location to the old quarter
2) good food and coffee options nearby
3) lots of fun touristy shopping
4) weekend festivities (it turns into a walking street)
5) the price is reasonable
6) Friendly
What you won’t like:
1) the property is slightly run down eg some rooms don’t have working air conditioner, refrigerators, and hot showers
2) the pictures submitted to Expedia from the owners look much better than the place truly is reflecting #1
3) The hotel isn’t clean. 2 or 3 out of 5. Lots of dust on the floor (to the point where my son’s feet turned almost black) and in restaurant area
4) Lower floors are noisy on weekends
5) There is no manager on site to handle customer concerns and hospitality. It seems that the manager and/or the company doesn’t take customer service concerns with urgency. They do not answer emails or get back to you. Our room was downgraded and the financial aspect was handled poorly. After two days of reaching out via email, I found out on Saturday when I left that the managers also don’t work weekends. The managers and hotel group don’t give the staff the power to resolve problems quickly
6) NOT a 5 star as EXPEDIA suggests, 2 star
7) Disorganization from change of hotel owners

When we arrived we were told in was closed for painting and take to there sister hotel across the road. The room was nothing like we had booked, this was our third hotel we stayed at fitting our two weeks in Hanoi the first was a cheap one and was very good, the second was an average priced hotel and was outstanding, this one being the last one was expensive and the absolute worst out of all of them. We asked if we could have a refund and checkout straight away, the staff said we would have to contact Wotif first and get the ok with them first. The shower leaked very badly every time you used it which flooded the bathroom and bedroom and the toilets would take four times to flush properly.

Hotel is significantly aged. Also i didn't get the room that actually booked. When i asked why, i was told that someone else is there. When checked in the person in the counter printed a paper with wrong room
title and told me that i booked that. But then when i re-checked the photos, i think they actually not what they are in reality. Staff members they were very polite, but i know what i booked in advanced and that was very wrong from hotel side. (Not from hotels.com, is great, just from actually hotel management.
I don't know when i ll come again at Hanoi but definitely not the hotel that i will look to stay again.

Fantastic location near the all the action, sights, scenes, food and lake. Hotel was great. Staff were super friendly and helpful. It was a good location if you want to be able to walk out into the thick of the action within a few hundred meters but it not be noisey either. Hanoi seemed to quieten down around 11pm and was basically done by 12 most nights. I'd stay here again most definitely. Thanks to Tommy and the Team. D from New Zealand

All staff of the Hotel were friendly and considerate. They would provide services as long as they could. But the hygiene and condition of the Hotel should be improved. Their quality should not be rated 4 star hotel.

Had a 6 night stay here, we arrived and we’re given a room upgrade specifically mentioning all 6nights ( available with hotels.com)
The next day we were rudely woken up early with them demanding us to move rooms.
Their reason being that the upgrade was for 1 night.
We’re well versed in staying at hotels with room upgrades and this has never happened.
We later found out the reason they upgraded us was only because our room wasn’t available the night before and that the upgraded room was now booked for other customers which means- they run their business by double booking rooms that they don’t actually have and are willing to inconvenience you and force you to move rooms when you have already settled in.
Another annoying and unprofessional this is their cleaners insist on entering your room when the Symbol on the door says “no house keeping in red”
How can you make it any clearer that you do not want them to enter the room.
There are no gym facilities at all. The pictures are not real.
The bath tub looks great, but there was never enough hot water to fill it even 25% of the way up.
After midnight they lock the hotel doors and you have to wake up the staff who are sleeping in the lobby. We always felt bad for them. There should be a better system

The photos of the hotel online look way better than the actual place does in person. The photos look like they were taking recently but the hotel is actually much older and more worn. I suspect the photos are heavily altered.
The location and service are great.
The comfort and feel of the hotel are not so good. The walls look aged and need repainting and repair. The refrigerator doesn't work because it's 12 years old... It's both too old to fix and they don't have any plans to replace them.
The hair dryer barely functions and a couple of the lights didn't work. The bed was not comfortable. Pillows looked and felt old. And that was pretty much the summary of what the hotel is like. The bathroom also was dirty, it seems like they don't clean the bathroom hardware and the faucets.
I would not return to this hotel despite the good service primarily because the accommodations need some updates.
There's a lot of other hotels in this area that you can choose from instead

This hotel is so old and dirty. I arrived to their hotel around 5pm, they still don’t make up the room for me then asked me to wait. I couldn’t sleep that night because they didn’t change bed sheet and pillow case, they smell so bad.
