About this house rental
Our home is a very comfortable spacious family friendly house located less than a 3 minute walk to the heart of Main Street in Lake Placid (Starbucks, Steak and Seafood, Movie Theater). The home is ideally suited for 2-3 families with children to experience a wonderful vacation. It is very kid friendly and designed to let you kick your shoes off and relax. The Master bedroom has a King Bed and a 6 foot picture window with mountain views. There is a second Queen bedroom and a large bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds and a full daybed. There is a 55" television in bunk room and xbox one. The master bedroom and bunk room are upstairs with a full bath and 1 bedroom with queen bed is on the main floor with a guest bathroom with a 48' shower. One set of the bunks is a full size on the bottom and a twin up top and the other set is 2 twin beds. There are video games in the bunk room as well as cable (XBOX one and Wii). The fourth bedroom is a private ground level suite with a second living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath. All bedrooms have a television and cable (master has a 42"). The bunk room is a very large and gives the kids somewhere to hang out and play games. The main floor of the house and fourth bedroom suite were completely renovated in 2009 including the comfortable sun room, living room, dining room, kitchen, guest room, main floor bathroom. The downstairs suite is private and very comfortable. The entire second floor was renovated in June 2016 (Master bedroom, bathroom and bunk room). There is walk out access to the deck with views of the Mountains and Mirror Lake. Their is a 55' HDTV in the living room with surround sound and full cable. Their is plenty of natural light and all the ceilings have been done in Pine and high hats for a very Adirondack feel. There is a comfy couch in the sunroom and an additional tree stump pub table for 4. There is also a full pub style dining room table which is also ideal for playing games (including POKER and we keep a full set of poker chips in the house). The living room also has a couch, chair and ottoman. Overall it is a very open floor plan with room to spread out. We converted the large granite fireplace to gas to allow that comfortable feeling of a warm fire with push button convenience. The kitchen has brand new appliances and granite counter tops. Didn’t realize there were only three parking spaces until we received the info sheet from the host a couple days before our stay.
Very minor complaint: would have been nice to have plastic wrap and aluminum foil provided.
All in all great location and comfy lodgings.

We had a great trip to lake placid. This house is perfect for walking to downtown or the ice rinks. There are plenty of comfortable beds. Great for two families.

Good location, owner is very forthcoming and helpful, property is a bit dated though, not much has been invested over the last decade or so: porch, furniture, quality of beds, mattresses, consoles, bathrooms, dishwashers etc. are all heavily used and in need of an overhaul for the price category (at least for the IM weekend). We had some mice incidents which seem to have been an exception. Internet & Samsung TVs are a highlight, availability of towels as well.

Comfortable. Family friendly. Close to everything – a short walk to downtown coffee shops, restaurants, shopping & Ice Cream! Parking for 4 cars was not a problem. Well stocked kitchen & nice back deck.
The owner, Chris, is extremely honest and helpful. He took the time to locate and ensure that we were able to get back items that were accidentally left behind after we departed.

Our stay at 90 Hillcrest was an overall great experience for my family and I. There was plenty of room for all to stay comfortably. The back deck was a perfect place to gather for some good times! It was also conveniently located to Main Street and therefore allowed us to walk from the house when we wanted to explore. The host was very accommodating and graciously answered our requests when contacted. Anyone who chooses to stay here will not be disappointed :)

Plenty of nice common space to enjoy family time. Just a few minutes walk from main st. Pleasant back deck great for outside dining or game night. Would absolutely stay again.

The house was nice and roomy, I was there with 7 Adults and we all had enough rooms and beds. Chris was great to work with and was helpful when we set off the alarm :(
Really like the location and the porch out back. The only negative i would give it is the microwave is wonky. You have to keep hitting +30 secs to make it work. the other buttons don't respond..

We had a great stay. The location, 2 blocks to town and Mirror Lake, is so convenient. The owner Chris was always available to answer questions and share ideas about activities in the area. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you need for meal preparations. The internet service was good. We also rented the kayaks and used them nearly every day.

We have often rented homes through VRBO in fact for the last three years. This was the most accurate listed, beautiful home ever. Comfortable. Family friendly. Close to everything. Great ambiance. Full kitchen. All good. Chris the owner has gone overboard on his care and concern for his guests. A must rent property. Enjoy.

The house was very close to town. Our family loved being able to walk to shops & restaurants. Back porch was very nice to sit outside & play games.

This house could not have been in a better location. It was a 5 min walk (or less) to Main Street shops and restaurants and also to a great park for the kids with a good sledding hill. Whiteface and other Olympic sites were all under a 20 min drive. The house had plenty of space for the 4 adults and 2 kids to spread out and enjoy. The check in instructions were not accurate though, so it took us awhile to get into the house. We also could not make sense of the gas fireplace instructions, and the house is in need of a few things like kitchen towels, wash clothes, and placemats. We would totally rent here again!

Wonderful house with many amenities. First time we've ever stayed at a rental with a full set of measuring cups, spoons and an array of actually sharp kitchen knives. Very tastefully decorated and charming. Plenty of room for our group of 8 to spread out. Our teens loved that it is a very easy walk to town, restaurants, Starbucks, ice skating etc. Would stay again.

We were looking for weekend getaway; two adults and 6 Sr. HS Students. House is perfect and afforded the group a great weekend. The location allows so many options to do that are walking distance - skating, shopping, dining, hiking... The house is well equipped and designed for parents and kids to spend time together and time apart. Enjoy.

The location and space in this house was perfect for our family! Plenty of sleeping space for 10 adults, lots of room indoors to gather and hang out, and nice deck to enjoy the outdoors and a view of the lake. Easy walk into town to shop or eat by Mirror Lake and close to Lake Placid. Great way to enjoy the Adirondacks!

The house was perfect for our group, owner was very responsive. House was not completely clean upon arrival, which is fine because we went in an lysol everything and swept the floors. Owner was very nice when I told him. But we’re a safety first family so we would have done it anyways! We would definitely consider the property again.

The home was exactly how it was described. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need. The beds were so comfortable. The owner Christopher got back to me with any questions I had right away. It was a great place for a family vacation. It is so close to town, we walked everywhere. Definitely will be coming back!

We had twice before enjoyed a ski vacation in Lake Placid, but this was the first time we rented a home for our six night stay. THIS HOUSE WAS PERFECT! We had two families of four and a solo cousin and everyone loved the house for its comfort, layout and location. Great beds! Great kitchen. Great location, We had a fabulous time and the owner was wonderful to work with. Very easy walk into the heart of town and to the bus to and from Whiteface. Also, has a great kitchen for cooking in. Quiet and spacious.

We feel so lucky that we chose this home for our first trip to Lake Placid. Chris the owner was very available and easy to work with. The house was SO well-equipped, beds were very comfy , large table was perfect for eating, playing games and doing lots of laughing! It is a quick walk to restaurants, shopping , activities. We had a great time with our 3 adult kids and their significant others!

We joined our friends for a weekend and completely enjoyed the place. It was lovely. Great location easy to the centre of town, loved the main room and had some great meals hanging with friends. Chris was very helpful and accessible. Highly recommend.

We had a great experience with this property and Chris, the owner. There were four of us and this house was perfect for us! Really cute with all the things you would need for a stay away from home. The house was very comfortable, so much so, none of us wanted to leave. It was great having one big bedroom upstairs and one downstairs, each with their own bathroom. The house isnwalking distance to the town and right down the street from Starbucks! Chris was amazing to work with! Provided us with restaurants to try and things to see. We will definitely be going back!

I recently stayed at this house for the LP Ironman with my family of five plus friends with family of four. Absolutely great location. 5 minute walk to town and all of the Ironman events including the swim start, transition and most important the finish. Two big rooms for both sets of adults and the bunk bed room with two sets of bunks plus a day bed was great for the 5 kids. The head of the household Chris reached out well in advance to ensure we had directions as well as put together a suggested "must do" LP list. This being our first time to LP, it was very appreciated. The house is fully furnished, tastefully done, and has everything you need in the kitchen, as well as games for the kids on a rainy day. Looking forward to staying again in the future.

I am a little behind in posting this. My family stayed Dec 20-27, 2014 at this winter wonderland. Chris was responsive and the house was better than advertised. Clean, everything worked, he even talked me through gas fireplaces for dummies at check in over the phone. Our family has a lifetime of memories from that one special week. Thanks Chris. Sorry for the delayed review. House was AWESOME.

This place is great, and you really can't beat the location. There is plenty to do; whether you want to hang out in the house, the downtown area, or if you are up for some adventure. It really is just a short walk to main street, or a short drive to numerous trailheads. There is also plenty of off street parking. The living room with the fire place was a great area for our group of old college friends to sit around and tell stories from back in the day. The kitchen is fully stocked with whatever you need. We prepared a great meal for everyone the night we arrived.

This beautiful well kept, clean and cozy home was the perfect fit for my family. We have stayed in Lake Placid before (Mirror Lake Inn), but this was our first time renting this house. Without hesitation, we will rent this house on future trips to Lake Placid. It is well stocked with the essentials: clean towels, dishes, utensils, etc. In addition, my children were entertained with the large selection of board and video games available. It surely made for fun family games nights by the fireplace! Also, my boys loved their bedroom with two of the coolest bunk beds i've ever seen. This is a great house to gather around in. You can gather around the large fireplace, kitchen/large dining room table, in the charming sun room section or when its nice out, out on the deck. I was pleasantly surprised by the location because everything in town was within walking distance. Lake Placid is quickly becoming a family favorite and this house is adding to the enjoyment. We are looking forward to our return trip and now we are looking to bring another family to enjoy the charm of this location and property. You won't be disappointed.
