We loved the property. What a wonderful place to build a resort! It is so pretty around there! The two gentlemen playing music made our stay so comforting and nice.
We loved the pool and the snack shop attached to it.
The food was awesome at the restaurant and bar. The staff was so friendly and helpful! The waterfalls were lovely and we had so much fun on the walks and in the hot spring baths.
We also had to seek out the medic for a couple of things and he was the BEST!!

Beautiful spot. It’s full of forests, wildlife, trails, and swimming holes. There are also many adventure tour options to choose from. The road to get there is paved and gentle, which is nice. You’ll want to have a WhatsApp account to communicate with the hotel.
The grounds are HUGE and the hotel map misleading. You’ll be happy to have your own car here. The hot springs, spa, national park, and trailhead to the tallest waterfall are all a 10 minute drive away from the rooms. You can arrange rides with the hotel, but that would get old really quickly. The hot springs also are a 5 minute walk from the parking area, and they stop letting people in at 6pm, so plan ahead. It’s a shame you can’t soak after dinner. A great time to soak is after breakfast. Afternoon is the worst time to soak.
We did a thermal circuit spa treatment, and it felt great. The rooms are nice. The food is great. Breakfast is buffet style with a lot of options. The main restaurant requires a dinner reservation, so we had dinner at the cafe instead, and the food was great. The staff is very friendly.
Overall, it’s a great choice for the area.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I loved the upgraded superior room we stayed in. The room had everything we could ask for-- a private yard with hammock, room safe, espresso machine, tv, ice-cold a/c, wonderful smelling hand soap, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner, blow dryer, hand mirror, closet with hangers, bedside reading lamps, and stocked refridge. Anytime we called the front desk for something, the staff attended to our needs in record time. I fell and scraped my knee during our visit and the attendant was right there to help. Later, my knee was cleaned and bandaged a second time by a nurse on the property. We did their horseback riding and tubing excursion. I was very impressed by how many tour guides there were to make sure we had a safe experience. The food was awesome-- plenty of options and the buffet breakfast was the best I've ever had in Costa Rica and I've been four times. You've got to try the granola! The highlight of the property is Oropendola Waterfall! Absolutely exhilarating!

VIP access? Did not receive anything. Room was old - early 2000s, only stayed at the hotel for about 10 hours. Nothing special - 3 stars at most. The surrounding areas are nice but pale in comparison to Yellowstone or even the Azores.

Had the feel of a 3 star Mexican resort. Lots of potential, but something was off.
Stayed for two nights at the end of three weeks in Costa Rica. Family of five, with kids aged 6-7. We chose this hotel due to proximity to the airport.
Pros- enjoyed the mud bath, hot springs, mountain biking and waterfall hikes. Nice that it was included with the hotel stay. Breakfast was good with lots of fresh fruit.
Cons- rooms were basic, restaurant service was extremely slow (ex. 35 minutes for nachos), it seemed like we were inconveniencing the staff whenever we ordered food or drinks, pool bar only had one waiter for tons of people, food was reasonably priced but the cocktails were extremely expensive. Lots of day trippers here and the place seems to cater to them, making it lack something special for hotel guests.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or stay there again.

A lot more than expected in things to do in the premises. Waterfalls, hot springs, mud bath is complementary. The Day tour was great. Room comfortable, doesn't have a mini fridge but it has 3 places to eat from in good price and taste. A lot to do and see, loved the wind and the tranquility, good to relax and enjoy family time!! Will definitely recommend!

We got an upgrade...awesome. Staff is very helpful with exolaining all the things this property has to offer and for booking activities and restaurant reservation. I definitily recommend this hotel for the family.

Our family with young kids enjoyed the pool and activities that the hotel provided. We enjoyed the hot springs, horsebackriding and zipling. Unfortunately my 7.5 year olds were too short to participate in tubing. The laundry service was overpriced, but the activities and food were reasonable.

We had a great time at this hotel. It was family-friendly, clean and the gardens are lovely.

Overall the hotel facilities were very good, the room was ok but the hotel grounds (100’s of acre’s) were wonderful. The rivers, waterfalls, swimming holes and the thermal swimming pools. There are also the paid activities. The tubing is really whitewater tubing and can be very intense. We also did horseback riding and the spa. The spa with volcanic mud was a nice way to finish out the trip.

Activity center staff were very helpful.
I would have preferred to stay at a place less remote to be able to go into the nearest town for walking, eating, etc.

I loved my stay at the Hacienda! The amenities elevated my experience. The waterfall was stunning, the spa was serene, the hot pools were my favourite part, (tip: go first thing in the morning for a quieter experience!) The staff were friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location. Great tours choice although they are expensive. Great food and lovely fire pits in nekajjui restaurant, but terrible breakfast buffet despite the choice in morning.

The free shuttle service to the waterfalls and hot springs are an added bonus to this wonderful hotel. We appreciated the delicious free breakfast and fun activities.

Wow! They have everything you need with in the large property. Natural hot springs, waterfalls, horse riding, zip lining and tubing. The property is well maintained and the grounds are beautiful. I saw so many birds and parrots in the trees right by my room. I will definitely stay their again. Things to know: It’s far from any outside restaurants or supermarkets so be prepared to rate at the two restaurants, bar and cafe.

Loved this place! Very clean well appointed rooms. The restaurants were very nice, food was good and the staff were lovely. We did a full day tour with horse back riding, hiking the volcano, waterfall swimming and the hot springs. Our guide santos was great. We had a fantastic time and would return here😊

This place has it all. A beautiful pool. Great food. Great recreation. Horseback riding, zip lining and river rafting. Access to the national park and volcano. This is a wonderful place to stay for three days and great for kids.

I can't express enough how great this place is! You have access (usually ~$30pp) for free because of being a guest to all of the amazing natural attractions like the multiple waterfalls with super unique bridges and of course the hot springs/mud. The facility itself is also amazing....they created such a cozy atmosphere with hammocks and fire rings with drink service. You will not be disappointed by this place!

Nice property, easy access to hotel waterfall, hot spring, national park. Not a lot of dining option. Isolated from town. Breakfast is so so

Our first two nights were at the Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin. I underestimated how remote it is. Be prepared to eat all your meals at the hotel. The food was just okay. We wanted only one side to include mushrooms, and instead, they put mushrooms on the whole thing and left off the other supreme toppings. They fixed it, but it was just ok, as it is not a wood fired pizza. My son had a hamburger and could not finish it as it was very rare and tasteless. I had the garlic fish (mahi mahi) and it was rather blah too. The included breakfast buffet had variety. The room was just okay, as the beds were not the comfiest. We did not know that the AC was controlled by a remote. The property is beautiful, and you truly feel like you are in the jungle. Your stay incudes a visit to the hot springs, and that was nice. We had a car, but I think the hotel will shuttle you there as it is 6 km away. I chose this hotel for our first two nights was because they have the Adventure pass, you can horseback ride, zip line and river tube in one day. I need to warn you- this was more adventure than I needed. I am in my fifties, in good health. The ride started out with 25 riders and 3 guides. This was too many and horses were nipping each other. The river tubing was rough and most people got thrown out at rapids. I have severe bruising on my back and had to pass on the ziplining because I was too beat up from . My son said they sent people on the zipline while he was still on it which was unsettling.

Everything was fine. Hotel is a touch more rustic than lead to believe initially, however the location is pretty much in the hills in the middle of a national park, so make sure this is the experience you are looking for. That being said, the staff is excellent, the rooms are cozy and clean, the food is good, you can get a beer, a coffee by the pool, go for a hike, adventure, or just sit on the veranda in front of your room. Something for everyone and it was enjoyable.
