Located in North Captiva Island, this attractive house for £232 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Located on North Captiva Island, in Safety Harbor Club, this comfortable home is conveniently located near beaches, pools, and boat docks. It is nestled among the native palms, and has a private, wildlife-friendly setting you will love. North Captiva is a bridge-less, car-free island situated in between the coastal barrier islands of Captiva and Cayo Costa. Transportation to the island is provided by scheduled water taxis, private charter, or your own boat. The island has over 5 miles of pristine sandy beaches to explore and the southern portion includes over 350 acres of protected state park land. Golf carts, bicycles, and sandy feet are the typical mode of transportation (shoes are optional). Guests of Gumbo Limbo will be registered with both The Island Club at North Captiva and the Safety Harbor Club and will have use of their amenities including their 3 large pools, tennis courts, private beach access and use of sea kayaks and bicycles. Through special arrangement with the host (boat registration and insurance information provided for Safety Harbor Club) boat dock space can be used at the Safety Harbor Club wharf. With, or without a boat, guests will enjoy fishing, wildlife watching or enjoying sunrises and moonrises from the harbor docks. Gumbo Limbo is available for up to 6 guests. The first level of the house includes the living and dining areas, the first floor porches and decks, an outdoor shower, the kitchen, first floor bedroom and bathroom. There is a queen sized bed in the bedroom and a couch with queen size pull out bed in the living area. The second level (accessed by spiral staircase) included 2 full size beds, an attached bathroom with bathtub/shower, and a small outdoor deck (perfect for star gazing or sun bathing). Starlink internet service offers fast reliable internet for guests. Gumbo Limbo's rates do not include the use of a golf cart. In order to keep our rental rates low, we are leaving the golf cart business to others who know how to best maintain and deliver this service. Guests can rent a golf cart from Barrier Island Carts (best rate), The Island Club, or Boats and Fun. Please ask us to send you a FAQs page with these contacts. All photos of Gumbo Limbo were taken after Hurricane Ian. (Gumbo Limbo weathered the 2022 storm like an champ and received minimal damage!) North Captiva back to its "paradise" status, and, in some areas, is looking even better than pre-storm! The beaches are just spectacular! Beautiful white sand and clear sparkling waters teeming with amazing wildlife! Safety Harbor pool and tennis courts are in great shape and the Safety Harbor Club wharf and docks have been rebuilt. The Over The Waterfront restaurant is serving up delicious meals (reservations required) and is highly recommended! The Island Club pools are sparkling clean, heated and in use. Mangos poolside bar and grill are open and serving tasty food and drinks and the Island Market has fun merchandise, a coffee bar and ice cream shop to enjoy! The Island Club's water taxi and Island Girl Charters are providing regular daily scheduled service to the island. Boats and Fun is renting golf carts and boats, and provides custom water taxi services. Gorgeous home with everything we needed for cooking and beach fun! Really appreciated access to the two clubs' pool and amenities- quite a chilly week so it was great to be able to hit the pool and get out of the wind at the beach. We used Debbie at Fresh Pick Grocery for grocery shopping and delivery, she's fantastic! We will definitely be back, thanks for everything Sandy!

The home is one if not the cleanest VRBO we have stayed in. The home was well stocked, host very responsive. This location is what VRBO should be and host Sandy was great.

House was perfectly lovely & well appointed! Super kitchen, baths (++outdoor shower), sheets, towels comfortable furniture & beds! Ideal location…close to boat launch & pools, enjoyed golf carting to beach & playing pickleball daily. Everything was clean, easy & uncluttered! A+ getaway!

We had such a wonderful stay at Gumbo Limbo! The house is soo cozy with a cottage feel, it was clean, welcoming and conveniently located to everything. Our check in to check out process was smooth and Sandy was soo accommodating. We’ll be back next summer!

Gumbo Limbo is a beautiful home, only a short walk from Island Club and Safety Harbor swimming pools with privileges at both. It has a spacious, modern, well-stocked kitchen and an open floor plan with tasteful, lovely furnishings. The owners were only a text away and responded quickly to our questions. With an outdoor shower, we could always wash off the sand from our shell-collecting adventures and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets on the beach before coming inside after our long days on North Captiva. The kitchen has purified drinking water and a wonderful ice machine, paper towels and napkins, and a cabinet with salt and pepper and an assortment of spices. Our bungalow also had a washer and dryer stocked with laundry soap and softener, bath soap, and shampoo and conditioner. The beds are comfortable and a quiet AC kept indoor temps perfect. We had ample clean bath towels and a big basket of beach towels for our use. Don’t forget to reserve a golf cart ahead (cost in summer 2023 is $79/day) as the house did not provide one. The homeowners left us personal notes, treats, and a nice welcome gift. We highly recommend this beautiful beach home and would gladly stay here again.

This is a beautiful and well maintained rental property. My kids and I really enjoyed our stay on North Captiva and in this property. Lovely furniture, new appliances, and just a nice space to be in -- lots of natural light and a beautiful setting around it. Owners were easy to work with and made the whole process a pleasure. We would love to come back to North Captiva and would jump at the chance to stay in this property again. Thank you!

We cannot say enough about our experience on North Captiva Island! The accommodations were perfectly appointed with just what we needed (kitchen and bath essentials, high chair, pack'nplay, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.) We loved the proximity to the beach and access to the pools for the kids. As of March 2023, there is no store on the island so make sure to bring any consumables with you! Homes and amenities are still recovering from the hurricane. One restaurant is open and another only for lunch. Loved seeing the Gopher Tortoises, manatees, dolphins, osprey, etc. Host was very thorough and helpful with figuring out the logistics (taxi, ferry, golf cart rental, etc.) Cannot wait to plan a return trip!

What a gorgeous little house on a gorgeous little island! The house is clean, decorated perfectly and has everything you need. The couch and chairs are so comfortable and so was the bed! We loved this little place and had a great week on North Captiva Island. Sandy was so great to deal with and answered every question we had. Favorite part was the sandbar at the beach where you can walk so far out into the ocean and watch dolphins swim by and collect sand dollars! Oh yeah, don’t forget to get a pina colada at Mangos!
