Peninsula Place at Bernard's Landing is a large waterfront townhome that lives like a luxury home! Sleeps 8 (10 if 2 of the children are age 3 or under). Easy access with no steps. Walk in on ground level with views of water all around. The main level has a King Master Suite and second Queen bedroom, kitchen, dining, living, dinette, and deck with seating. The upper level has another King Master Suite/full bath with balcony and a Children's bedroom with two twin beds and a pack n play, changing table, and half bath. The lake level basement has a sitting area, Queen bed, full bath, laundry, and patio seating with grill. There is room to both spread out and come together as you spend time on the deck overlooking spectacular lake views that include the length of Smith Mountain and wide water all around! With so much to see and do around Smith Mountain Lake and in the resort itself, your family will have the time of their lives.....literally!! The Resort atmosphere will fill your days with fun, sun, and beauty. We have you covered...rain or shine! Here is a rundown of available activities (all for free)! Beach just steps from your door for swimming and sunbathing Fishing Poles and tacklebox Swim noodles, cooler, beach chairs, and umbrellas 2 Kayaks, paddles, lifejackets Tennis, Pickleball, and Racquetball courts onsite and we provide racquets and balls On-site Olympic outdoor Pool with lap lanes (Open until Oct 2nd!) Indoor Pool (Open year round) Indoor Hot Tub Saunas (Dry & Steam) Fitness Room Basketball Court (outdoor full court/indoor half court) Children's Playground & Kiddie Pool Games and Toys in the home DVDs and Cable TV Free WiFi in the home These activities are free of charge and access keys are provided. DINING: An onsite restaurant, Napoli by the Lake, is well reviewed and will take your lakeside experience to the next level! BOATING: Courtesy docks are located just outside of your unit, so be sure to bring a boat or plan to rent one onsite or at one of the many marinas so you can enjoy the sights and fun on the lake. There are at least 10 restaurants that you can boat to! The resort offers an offloading ramp and empty trailer storage during your stay for a fee if you register online for a decal. Here is the link to Pre-register for decals to dock your boat or store your trailer: https://bernardslanding.com/guests-renters/boat-and-trailer-stickers/ FISHING: The lake has outstanding fishing for bass, catfish, and the trophy striper bass. For ensured success, you may want to hire a fishing guide for a 1/2 day trip. These book up so I encourage you to do your research early. Fishing is allowed from shore or the courtesy docks when not filled with boats. Virginia law requires those 16 yrs or older to purchase a fishing license. This can be purchased online. Nearby Westlake is the lake's premier shopping area with Kroger, CVS, movie theater, restaurants, bait shop, and more. Bridgewater Plaza is another 8 minutes to the north and has several restaurants, surf shop, ice cream, pizza, bungee tramp, and mini golf. There is a local alpaca farm, Booker T. Washington historic site, and the World War II Memorial in Bedford and more to visit. There is a public golf course at Westlake also! We have provided kayaks and lifejackets in our the lower level storage areas. Virginia law and common sense requires a lifejacket when using a kayak. You will want to supervise children at all times around water. There is no barrier between the home and the water. There is a beach right near the townhome and beach toys for your use. The larger public beach can be accessed by parking near Napoli restaurant. Please plan to respect neighbors who are full time residents and follow Property Association rules. No excessive noise after 10pm, no parties or formal events, no pets, no fireworks, no tents can be erected in the yard, and you will need to remove belongings from yard and beach each evening. Everything we ever could have imagined. The view is even better than the pictures and the sunrise was breathtaking. We went in winter so it was incredibly quiet, but also 60 degrees and we were out kayaking in the water. I just can't say enough about the whole experience ❤️

Our family stayed here for my niece’s wedding since our Peninsula Pointe condo was full. We enjoyed the flexible sleeping accommodation, the fully stocked kitchen and outdoor toys! We would stay again. Thank you for sharing your home!

The view from the front windows was absolutely beautiful. It was so pleasant to get up in the morning, walk out of the bedroom and see the lake and mountains. One morning there were clouds lying on the mountains with the rest of the sky clear. It was one of those scenes that should be on a travel brochure. All the facilities were great too. It was truly a relaxing, fun time with the family. I hope we will be able to do it again in the future. About the books on the table, one came from your bookshelf, and the other was left as a donation by my husband who has written several novels over the years. Just add it to your library. The toothpaste left behind isn't ours.

We were very pleased with every aspect of the home and trip. The view off the back porch was amazing. The entire home was very clean and welcoming. If anyone was to forget to bring anything, there’s a very good chance there’s extra at the home. Anything from coffee to water floats to soaps to dinnerware was there to access. We will definitely plan on staying again next year and hopefully making this into a tradition.

Great property in a beautiful location. Unit could use an update of appliances in the kitchen...the ice machine in fridge/freezer was antiquated, as well as the range in which the temperature was unreadable on the display(an analogue thermometer) was placed inside the oven to measure the oven temps. Overall a great place for a family vacation or get away.

This place is as depicted in the pictures. It is very spacious, we had my wife and me and our 4 grown sons. There are effectively 6 bedrooms, 3 kings, 2 queens and 2 twins. It's a really efficient lay out. The entire community is well kept and while there are a lot of units here, it didn't seem crowded at all. Of course the grounds are extensive. We were unable to eat at the restaurant as by Thursday evening all of Friday and Saturday had been booked solid. So my guess is that it must be a pretty good place to eat. We rent a lot of VRBOs in a lot of states. This is the first one we have rented in Virginia. What I found different was the fact that they actually had some pantry items like spices, sugar, coffee, Kureig pods. They also had some various drinks in the refrigerator, along with some condiments. I prefer this type of concept, as it makes more sense than just throwing all of the extra unopened food away. We brought our boat and had no trouble launching it and dropping the trailer in the open field. The boating trade off with this particular unit is its location on a point. While it provides great views of all the boat traffic, it also is exposed to the wakes of said boats, as well as winds out of the west. Our 25' boat required 4 dock lines and 2 fenders to protect it from the wind and waves. So plan accordingly. Of course if you have a pontoon boat, I wouldn't have any concerns. This is a great rental and I wouldn't hesitate to rent it again.

Great house that exceeded our expectations. Very well appointed. We loved that the deck had shade all day long. We took advantage of the two individual air conditioners on the upper level as the temperature hit the 90s. The owners had thought of everything.

Our group of eight had never stayed at Smith Mountain Lake before. We rented a boat from a nearby marina and enjoyed all the amenities Bernard’s Landing has to offer. The unit is perfectly suited for couples and/or families. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to experience lakefront living.

We stayed in this lovely home with 8 adults and a one year old. Two of the adults are age 90 and the main level master with a step in shower and a nice height toilet worked well for them. The views were just lovely and we could keep our boat right behind the house. We also swam right behind the house at a nice beach area. This is a lovely, spacious home and we hope to stay again next year! Bernard’s Landing is a beautiful spot and a nice large home is hard to find there. We felt so fortunate to find this rental that was perfect for our whole family!

We had a great family stay. Water views from every window, both front and back of the unit, were amazing. The unit was well stocked with everything we needed. We walked to the marina where we rented a boat, and the day dock is located right in front of the unit. The indoor and outdoor pools, marina, restaurant, and store were all within walking distance. We launched the two kayaks at the little beach just steps from the unit. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, including both Keurig and pot coffee makers. The layout allowed us to spread out, with beds on three different levels. Had a great time, just wish we stayed longer!

The place was clean and the location was scenic. It was a perfect size for our family to spend time with plenty of room. The covered deck was a great place to gather during the rainy days.
