Hair on the bed linen is something I really hate, but if you are ok with it, then I recommend this place with super nice staff and fine location.

location was good and price was good
Would not let me check in until 3 pm even though i needed to sleep after a really early flight, would not accommodate even though I requested well in advance. Stairwell smelled like urine. shared bathroom and showers were not very clean. Shared room was smaller than expected. No lockers for personal belongings. Breakfast was bare minimum; toast, coffee, cereal.

Location downtown is pretty decent.
Don't expect much service. There's only ever one person working and it's hard to get ahold of them. We called so many times on phone and no one ever picks up; emailing or messaging works ok. When you arrive, you need to ring a doorbell and wait quite a while for them to come to front desk to check you in.
The private room was mostly clean and spacious and is a bunk bed for two people. However the ventilation grilles into the hallway and adjacent rooms mean that you hear everything outside the room and light gets into the room in the dark too making it less comfortable for sleeping.
Washrooms were passable. The shared showers really need to be cleaned more than once a day. If it is already, it didn't show. Both times we were there, there was hair in the drains and dust that hasn't been cleaned at the top "shelf space" where you put toiletries. Makes you question how clean everything is.
We didn't get to try the breakfast. Both times, we left earlier either to Banff or the airport. Wish they started earlier.
They have different events depending on the week which seemed kinda cool, but we didn't get to participaten given timing.
If you're not picky with the above, this might be ok for you. You get what you pay for. We would choose to pay more for a more comfortable and cleaner stay. We've lived at many hostels before across the world (including on this trip), but felt that this one fell short.

Die Lage in Downtown Calgary.
Das Hostel hat er wenig Flair, kein TV-Gerät und das Personal war nur mäßig freundlich.

- Staff was nice
- It was pretty clean (lots of people were using the bathroom, kitchen etc., so it can‘t be perfectly clean all the time)
- free laundry service
- free breakfast (vegan options available)
- group activities
- wifi
- in downtown, good location
- not so much opportunities to charge something in the room (had to leave it in the chill out area)
- beds are very loud
- woke up at night, when someone climbed up the bed, because it shaked so much

Location and staff are best from that place
Renovation is needed, lack of personal stuff in rooms, a construction yard behind the windows

For me hostel is not about just sleep. I aprreciated that staff help me with my question. There is lot of common area where you can hang out, chill, work or play a games. Its very close to tram so location is superb. I find very cool the big kitchen and everyday fancy breakfast - there is lots of option. I would say for few days in centre is good option.
If I recomended? For few days yes.
Well I was bit disapointed with wristband. Doest work well for me, so I always need to put it out of my wrist to put it close. It that case in my opinion card reader is the better option.
In winter times If u get bed close to windows is pretty cold, my head has unpleasant feels of cold. That was my case. But its maybe case Iam not used to Canadian winter.
Everybody has different regime. Thats mean when the doors are open so often, they are so loud and you cant sleep well. The click noise is too heavy and loud. So if somebody doesnt close doors slowly it can easily wake up all room - be sure you will bring earplugs! If u wanna have nice sleep. I know thats is just hostel and owner maybe doesnt care, but i stay in lots of places and I found these doors pretty noisy and annoying when people leave them hit the lock.

Super fun stay! Staff was excellent, location was excellent, bed was so comfy! And breakfast was included which I didn’t realize when I booked (although we weren’t able to stay for it).
There was nothing that I did not like.

Good: affordable stay, free breakfast, spacious private room, central downtown location, big kitchen, hostel social events, nice enough staff who were happy to help. Overall a good stay, with a few basic touches this would be a great stay.
Bad: showers could have been cleaner, room lacked basic amenities eg. hooks to hang towels and jackets on - this would be a super cheap/easy way to make the room a lot more comfortable! room was quite cold and not very soundproof

The kitchen is truly amazing. the rooms are very good with a lot of space and the bed is very comfortable. it’s a little bit hot something during the night. the common bathroom is great. there is little lockers in the rooms for personal items.

I forgot an item and the staff kindly saved it for me to get it back.
There were people gathering in the common areas very late in the night. It was noisy in the bedroom.
