Amazing view,well located close to historic Newport,attractions nd of course, beach. When I say amazing view,it was darn near a wrap around glass wall view,and the windows have deep old time sills perfect for beverages, feet or small children to sit. The pool sized jacuzzi and 10’ fire pits were magical at night,with the ocean right there by your elbow. The bed was so comfortable and fluffy,the kitchen well stocked with cooking supplies utensils and crockery and the whole cottage had a real 1950’s vibe. Cottagecore aficionados will adore View House. Lots of tasteful artwork &knickknacks,and provided reading material for the history and sights of the Oregon coast.

It’s very very very small. We were 5,2 adults and 3 kids under 12. The kids shared a futon the entire time for sitting with much squabbling about elbow space; the adults had to sit on hard kitchen chairs. The coffee table had to be removed to the kitchen at night to open the futon and allow room for kids to move around it for bathroom visits. In the tiny bedroom; the top bunk was so close to the ceiling the 10 yr old hit her head on the glass light fixture climbing the ladder, and smacked her head again on the ceiling trying to pull back her covers to get in. But the ladder was too small and steep for the 6 yr old twins. Only one bunk was usable,the other 2 had to share the futon( which had no bedding provided so we were hauling the top bunk bedding back &forth thru the 3 day stay). Moving thru house required LA traffic type patience and consideration to allow anyone to traverse from front sitting area to bedroom or bathroom. A small sectional couch for the front area (no coffee table is needed)and another full bed in the second bedroom would probably provide as much sleeping area with more usefulness and comfort.

Cleaning really needs to be a better priority

We liked the location and the view

The Cottage was dirty there was black head hair in the bedding and on the windowsill and headboard that Appeared to be both human and dog that there was also a dead flying ants in the bedding underneath the covers the full mattress Was worn out and had a horrible odor the whole cottage stunk and the second we got in there we had to open every single window the tv turned on but never worked the fold down couch for sleeping didn’t fold all the way down and the pull out part to extend it collapsed anytime you actually tried to pull it up broken hinges The back of the refrigerator was completely nasty and covered in thick layers of dust there was dust and hair balls under all the beds. The tracks to the windows were filled with dead bugs and black mold and the floor were Very dirty while Wiping up spilt water on the floor and turn the white towel Black.

Overnight to go to the Aquarium.

The view of the ocean and sunset was amazing. The cottage was really cute. The office staff was really nice.

There was no pool as mentioned on the website and if you wanted to use the hot tub there was a fee. The beds were really hard and uncomfortable. There was no ventilation for cooking or in the main floor bathroom. For the price, I expected a little more.

Wonderful view, just not very clean.

Loved the view, and the quiet separate cottage.

It could have been much cleaner. There was sand on the couch, and we had to wear our socks and/or shoes because the floor was so dirty. Also very cramped if you are more than a family of 3.

Okay. Staff was fabulous!

The location is outstanding!

The sofa bed in the living room is not a sofa bed and should not be represented as a sleeping space. The sofa is 5 feet long and 3 feet wide when the back of the futon reclines. I did not fit in this bed even on a diagonal. It is also rock hard. Even as a sofa it is very hard and extremely uncomfortable.

Updated cozy cabin with panoramic views that is great for a small family

Cozy and cute cabin with panoramic ocean views. We loved that we were able to use the infinity hot tub which was just steps away from the unit.

The double bed felt pretty tiny and the kitchen lacked some tools for real cooking (like kitchen towels)

Loved the view. The room was amazing! Having 2 bathrooms was great! The staff were awesome!

Thought we were staying at one building and we were booked in the sister building instead.

Disappointing

The view of the ocean is great! Accommodation is clean.

The marketing of the "Lookout condo" is deceptive. The advertised "private kitchen" doesn't have any cooking ability beyond a microwave. No balcony as advertised. Be aware the confirmation comes from the Inn at Nye Beach (which is next door), yet on check-in you are informed the Inn has nothing to do with the condo except to take your credit card, provide housekeeping, and give you a key. As mentioned in other reviews, no direct beach access unless you pay the Inn next door $15/day to use their stairs. The small touches of other accommodations are missing: No chairs outside to enjoy ocean view; bath towels are very small and thin; no extra pillows; no coffee/tea/sugar provided with the coffee maker.

Excellent views and facilities by the beach.

Captains Quarters more spacious then expected. Plenty of room for four adults in three beds (one pull-out). Well equipped kitchen, all areas clean and very nice views. Convenient location for beach, local shops (excellent bakery) and restaurants. Only stayed one night so didn't bother with extra $15 for facilities at next door Inn at Nye Beach.

Hard to find exact location. Asked a couple of people who didn't know where condos were. Instructions should say to call in at reception at Inn at Nye Beach.

The location was beautiful, unfortunately the condo wasn't.

We didn't have breakfast, we stayed in a condo. The view was beautiful.

The housekeeping was terrible. The floors were dirty, and the mattress cover had blood and urine stains on it. The smoke detector in the bedroom was missing.

Will not return to Sea View Suite

the location was great... close to shops. the view was also nice, but more so from on balcony rather than in the room

upon arrival found two dirty baking sheets left in the oven. Main bath - toilet seat was broken and nearly fell off, fan didn't work and unable to take bath due to leaking plug. The bed was very small and quite uncomfortable. Lastly, the description of the condo DID NOT STATE that you had to walk up three flights of stairs to the unit. We would not have booked had we known this. We left early because of the stairs and our lack of sleep due to uncomfortable bed!

Overall a decent stay, loved the beach theme.

The staff were very polite and made us feel welcome. Very convenient location, everything within walking distance. Very cute apartment style room.

The room was not fully clean. Seemed to be some electrical problems, loose outlets. Instructions to the room were slightly confusing.

We love Newport and Nye Beach and will return!

We love this building and the location on Nye Beach. We also love that it has a pool and hot tub on site and designated parking spots.

When I booked the condo, I made a point to be sure it had Wi-Fi in case I had to do some work. The unit we stayed in didn't have Wi-Fi, but we were only told that via a phone call right before we arrived. It should be listed on the website when reserving the unit. Also, there was no bedding on site for the pull-out couch. Just because the reservation was for two people, never assume that they will be sleeping in the same bed. The lamps in the living room didn't work. I went and bought lightbulbs thinking that was the problem. It wasn't though, the cords cannot be plugged all the way into the electrical outlets, or the lamps will not work. Please check the outlets in the living room/dining area and update. Don't forget to check & sweep under the couch and bed before the next guest arrives.

We will not be staying at this location again.

The view of the beach was wonderful except the dirty windows looking out on the beach.

The cottage was not as clean as it should be, we couldn't find any extra blankets. There was no extra roll of toilet paper and we had 4 people. There was an outlet that would not hold our phone charger, it kept falling out. The beds were hard. The shower had hair in it. The towels were too small and scratchy. The blinds were broken in some of the rooms.

Good

Beautiful view and nice spa pool. We enjoyed going there as a family. The view was nice in the morning as we were able to see the ocean after an evening filled with lots of fog! Amazing to wake up to that view.

The floor in the cottage was not cleaned well, with lots of stains on the floor. We also were unable to use the stove properly as it got error messages. The bathrooms smelt a little funny/moldy.

It was nice and family friendly it was GOOD for a 10 year anniversary but could have been better.

The View was amazing in Room 303 condo where we stayed with our little family. The Nye Beach Inn allowed you to add on their pool access services which was nice but for free you can access the condos pool too. Great location you can walk to all the shops close by.

The stove was broken and the cleanliness of the condo was not good. When we arrived upon walking on the floor you could feel grit on the floor. It had a lot of dust bunnies. For the price we paid each night it definitely was not up to par. There was 2 forks and 2 butter knives 4 bowls no big plates no small plates and 2 large glasses a lot of misc. dishes. We ended up buying our own paper plates and plastic utensils. this is a privately owned condo that the Nye Beach Inn manages. The staff was amazing but they are not in charge of what is stocked in this unit. There was also no internet available. It is definitely way over priced and everything throughout the unit was pretty cheap but if you plan to be here for the beach, location and to explore and eat out it will do the job!

thank goodness the NYE beach hotel had a room I could move to!

the cottage location was amazing. the balcony and view stunning.

had to pay an extra fee for the resort amenities. the cottage was musty. the futon in the living room uncomfortable, musty, and covered in animal hair. the bed was at a weird angle in the room with nightstands piled up behind it so you couldn’t reach the lamps
