Superb

The room was very pretty and the personnel was super nice and helpful. Best breakfast I've had in Portugal, with lots of fresh fruit, cheeses, etc. We had access to a really nice rooftop terrace.

The air conditioning made a lot of strange sounds which sometimes woke us up at night. There are also a lot of barking dogs nearby.

Very good

Breakfast was outstanding. All the staff we met were pleasant and helpful. They gave us good tips on where to find evening meals.

Shower head was rather high and not adjustable, therefore not ideal for a short person.

Highly recommended 10/10

I was welcomed by Cátia who was a true delight, she was very patient with me because my flight was delayed for 24 hours. She gave me the tour of the house, showed me the typical food places and the activities that can be done in the city. The facilities are very good, the house and my room were spotless. And breakfast was really good.

Delightful experience in traditional Portuguese building

Super clean. Great breakfast. Helpful friendly staff. Easy to find, convenient location. Capitano room with its own sitting room bright and spacious for week-long stay. Queen sized bed very comfortable. Lovely rooftop terrace and other sitting areas for variation. Those with mobility issues could stay on ground floor. Steep stairs lead to two upper floors. We would return without hesitation.

Limited space for storing clothes; could use a small chest of drawers. A second waste can in sitting area would be useful.

if you’re looking for a perfect spot for your trip to Olhão, this is the place to go!

The place and people are amazing. During my trip, I not only felt welcome, but more as if I stayed at friends home without disrespect to personal boundaries. Joao and his team do everything to make you feel good and have good tips and stories for food, activities and sights. 10/10 recommend!

it was a bit cold during February/ march, since it is an old house. But the team did everything to make us feel warm.

Great place and not too busy surrounding for a relaxing post season holiday

Friendliness of all the staff. Cátia and João are just exceptional. Location is close to the center and the sea. A lot of tips were received from the staff

Very beautiful, cozy guesthouse, very nice staff and an excellent breakfast. It is located right in the middle of town, so it takes like 10 minutes to anywhere.

Charming guesthouse in the heart of Olhão

A very nice renovated old house hosts the GuestMar, we found a wonderful atmosphere, a very good breakfast, and friendly staff in the heart of Olhao. The building has a wonderful tiny terrace, few parkings and a small supermarket just in front of the entrance.

Despite the well renovated and nicely furnished rooms, ours was small, so I do recommend the smallest ones for two/three nights stays max. We would had appreciate a little bit more of space for luggages, but definitely a positive experience.

Joao and his team are simply wonderful. The GuestHouse is conveniently located in the centre of Olhao and from there you can walk to the ferries for the island and also to the train station. We loved the rich breakfast, the design of the building, the cozy roof top and all the special details of the service, from the sun umbrellas, towels and after sun cream offered to the guests, to the open kitchen where you can find something to eat and drink all day long. And the best thing has been the good talks with all the staff. They really do their best to help and support the guests as they were friends. Without doubts, GuestMar is the best guesthouse where we've ever been during our European trips.

Quaintly furnished and well-equipped house with an amazing breakfast. Truly felt at home.

Would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Olhão. One of the most generous, friendly and welcoming places I have ever stayed at. The rooms and communal spaces in the house are considerately and beautifully furnished. There is a communal upstairs terrace with a lovely view of the city and a great place to tan or sit and read, we enjoyed having our morning iced coffee here. They provide free beach towels and beach umbrellas, perfect to use for a trip to one of the nearby islands. The breakfast was truly exceptional, it had over 10 types of fresh fruit cut up separately, fresh bread, croissants, homemade cake, yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, etc. A great range of options for every type of dietary requirements or preferences, plus 4 different types of nut milk to add to a cup of morning coffee. In addition, the gorgeously furnished kitchen has every appliance you could think of to cook or bake whatever your heart desires. They also leave the doors open in empty rooms and some nibbles in the kitchen throughout the day, which are testament to the host's endless hospitality. Overall an amazing place run by amazing people!

Really nicely decorated and friendly staff

Really friendly place with extremely helpful staff. Very nicely decorated.

The room I chose was a little too small but was a great price. The proprietor told me the wifi seems to work quite well when it's not the summer for some reason - it was too slow for me to use properly in the evenings in particular.
