Newly renovated in 2019. Located in Topeka, KS near the Historic NOTO District. Built in the 1800s, this home is the definition of relaxation. Though only a couple minutes from restaurants, businesses, shopping you feel like you are in the country. On almost 2 acres of land surrounded with mature trees, make yourself at home and enjoy the room to roam. Less than 10 minute drive to the State Capital Building--it's country living in town. Large rooms. Patio perfect for barbecues, picnic table, and covered porch. Hold on to your horses people, we are having the best time renovating this home we absolutely love! With four bedrooms, full living room, dining room and a full functioning kitchen this home is ideal for families who like to be together. The house is quite unique, the original part built in 1825. The kitchen, dining room, living room, and bathroom is completely renovated with tin ceilings, shiplap, and all new plumbing to provide all the modern conveniences during your stay. There is a business traveler friendly dedicated work space and washer/dryer for my travelers that are sticking around for the extended stay. About our Staff Chela and Claudia have been cleaning and caring for my guest homes for seven years. Chela and Claudia do a wonderful job as experienced experts in preparing the home for your stay. To insure our guests safety, we have increased the frequency of cleaning door handles, outlets, walls and have continued the use of high grade disinfectant. All linens, bedding, mats are laundered between guests. As it has always been, the safety and security of our guests and team members remains our highest priority. Chela and Claudia take pride in their work! They receive extra incentives to do their best preparing the home for you; a bonus is provided to Chela and Claudia for any notes or reviews from our guests that highlight the cleanliness and care provided for your stay. In addition to cleaning and preparation for your stay, my guest homes also have a full-time maintenance assistant at your service. Also, myself and my husband Larry, are always available to you for anything you may need assistance with during your stay. Chela, Claudia, Maintenance, my husband Larry and myself all comprise a service team of five people to oversee the care and condition of 9 houses. We are scaled to the right size to allow for the time to give plenty of attention to the care of each and every guest home. The home was very welcoming. We were able to prepare meals for our family using the supplies provided which was a big plus for us feeding 3 kids.
There were a few things that need improvement. The shower curtain liner needs to be replaced badly.
The second bedroom with the full size bed downstairs did not have a proper frame. My father in law who is 70 years old stayed in that room. It was like a balancing act for him to lay on the bed without the mattress flipping to one side. Needless to say he was not comfortable and wound up leaving 2 days early.

The location and property were perfect for a quiet weekend while being away from home for a tournament. Close to good restaurants and grocery store. Farmhouse was nice with updated interior.

We enjoyed the openness and decor of the kitchen and family room. The beds were comfortable and it was very peaceful and quiet at night. There were plenty of towels, linens and kitchen supplies. We enjoyed and appreciated the quiet and coziness of the home.

Sweet and restful. Kitchen pantry & coffee items were wonderful. For the most part, we found it clean and ready for us. Things we found neglected: trash and dirt under beds, cobwebs in the upper corners and on the kitchen table chandelier, a razor blade in the couch cushion crevice and a dirty napkin too. The sink isn't secured in the counter top either. The screen door is in need of repair/replacement. The GPS location didn't bring us to the correct address and another time it took us in the opposite direction.

The house was clean & comfortable. It was great for everyone to have space. The washer & dryer were a blessing since we were in town for a baseball tournament. The neighborhood was quiet. Thank you for the stay.

Good for adults, not small families
It was a unique and cozy home, but some things were misrepresented. The grill listed is not use-able, even when we double-checked with Brandie and she gave us the all-clear. The upstairs bedrooms also don't have a door between and no door to the stairs, so it was less than ideal for two families with small kids. It's more like one bedroom. We found a way to make it work, but we wouldn't stay here again.

We rented this house to attend a family wedding. We had what we needed to make our stay comfortable. The property makeover in the helpful info book was remarkable. Interested to see what more will be done!

When we arrived at the house, the first thing we noticed was how dirty the outside of the house and garage was. Gutters that were full of twigs, cobwebs on the siding. It looked really run-down and we were hesitant on going inside. Once we walked through the front door, we were pleasantly surprised. It was a beautiful home. Very cozy and spacious for the 6 of us.
On the dining room table was an album of before and after pictures that the owners had taken while remodeling the house. Those pictures were fascinating! The original house is almost 200 years old! Built in 1825, it has some history to it.
The house had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. There is a nice grocery store nearby so we were able to stock up on what we needed and fill up the fridge.
The bedrooms are quaint, but clean and comfortable. The bathroom is small but functional. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms is very steep so be careful if you have young kids.
The property owners have a list of rules that they would like followed, and none of them seemed too ridiculous. However, with the cleaning fees that we were charged when I made the reservation, I feel like I shouldn't have to put a load of laundry in the wash, start the dishwasher and take out the garbage.

We stayed at this property for a girls weekend. We loved the house and had a wonderful time. Brandie was very friendly and always quick to respond to questions. The decor was very tasteful and the inside of the house was clean. The outside could use a bit of TLC (sidewalks swept, windows cleaned, siding washed). The inside was very clean though. We would stay here again!

We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, farmhouse Inspired decor, and comfy furnishings. Everything was well-communicated from the owners and we had everything we needed!

Loved it!
We rented Brandie's place, for a short getaway, and birthday dinner with friends, that my husband planned for me. We had a great time, and absolutely loved the farmhouse themed home. It was quiet and peaceful, yet not far from convenience's. We're not strangers to north Topeka, so we didn't have a problem finding the house. My husband LOVED it, and went on and on about how this place reminded him of when he was younger, living in a small town. Our guests were comfortable, and loved the decor as well. Brandie was very nice, and had detailed instructions for the rental. Even though we didn't stay the full time or sleep there, we had an amazing evening and dinner here!

Not recommended
Although this house can definitely sleep a lot of people, it isn't up to VRBO standards. I would definitely not recommend that children stay here, as there were exposed outlets and wires coming out of the walls. Unfortunately, the shower wasn't working and since there was only one bathroom, that posed a serious problem. The bathroom tile had, what appeared to be, black mold throughout and the water was VERY low. The beds were comfortable and there were lots of them, but it didn't make up for the bathroom situation. Also, there was a very strong urine odor that appeared from time to time in the dining room area.
Note to future occupants: Google maps and Apple maps will not find this address. Also, be sure to bring your own toilet paper.

There was plenty of room in this charming farmhouse. Would have liked a couple of more window coverings in the kitchen and in the living room. The beds were very comfortable and the property was clean!

Quaint and comfortable home
We stayed here to have more space for our family and to avoid hotel prices. It is cozy and very clean. The owner puts a lot of thought into the details and we found nothing lacking. Definitely recommend.

Very cute older home, very comfortable and homey. Home has lots of privacy and on a large lot.
Six unrelated friends shared the home, made dinner at the home. The owners where very helpful. Watch out for Google Maps, it didn't take us directly to the home, had to call the owner for help. Great property.
