Wine Country Cottage, Pet Friendly, Nestled in Trees Near Vineyard With Fire-Pit & Cozy Wooded Patio
About this house rental
Situated in Willamette Valley, this charming house for £142 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. This beautiful wine cottage is nestled in the heart of wine country in the Willamette Valley. It sits just off Stoller road, moments away from Stoller Vineyard. Just beyond are many renowned vineyards such as Domaine Serene, Domaine Droughin, White Rose Estate, and Sokol Blosser. One of my favorites is Soter Vineyard. You will need to call for reservations but it is absolutely special in quality and setting and I can't say enough good things. Treat yourselves to a provisional tasting if you get the chance! Sitting only 10 minutes to McMinnville, 7 minutes to Dundee, and 40 miles to Portland you can enjoy everything the region has to offer. If you go to YouTube and search 'Wine Country Cottage' there is some drone footage of the outside of the cottage and surrounding area. I can't include a direct link since they are stripped out by the booking platform. The cottage is almost always stocked with multiple complimentary or two for one tasting cards you can use at some of the regional vineyards. These are often changing so there is no guarantee exactly which ones we will have on hand at one time, but there will definitely be some! For example the most recent batch of tastings include Domaine Serene, Sokol Blosser, Stoller, Cougar Crest, Natalie's Vineyard, and Dobbes Tasting Room. There are multiple wonderful restaurants and breweries a short drive away as well. The Painted Lady in Newberg has incredible food offerings and an exquisite wine list. It is one of the better fine dining establishments in the entire region. The cottage has a full kitchen and comfortable living area that connects directly to a private back patio area with a full fire pit. There is nothing like sipping wine by the fire on a beautiful summer night in the Pacific Northwest. You can easily sleep four adults and a couple of kids. The spiral staircase is a bit steep so we recommend kids older than 8 years old to be safe. There is a full private bedroom with queen bed on the main level, and another queen bed in the upstairs loft. There is also a sleeper sofa in another section of the loft. The living area has a new 4K HDTV, WiFi, and integrated streaming for Netflix, Amazon Prime Videos and most any other streaming option that you personally have access to. Newberg, Dundee, and Lafayette have quite a few antique shops to peruse for your enjoyment. Don't forget to check the calendar in McMinnville as they often have quite a few events throughout the year to enjoy. The UFO Festival and the International Pinot Noir Festival are not to be missed! The cottage sits just off Stoller Road only moments from Highway 99, giving you easy access to one of the main thoroughfares in the region. PET FRIENDLY: **There is a $100 pet fee per pet with a maximum of $300 (3 pets). Please be aware failure to adhere to the house rules as it pertains to pets may result in cancellation of the booking with no refund. ** Water is on a well, please note although safe it does have a bit of a "salty" taste. It is recommended to bring bottled water for drinking and cooking if preferred. Garage parking is not available at this time. Sleeping Arrangements: Main Floor: Bedroom 1: Queen bed Second Floor: Bedroom 2: Queen bed Loft area: Sleeper sofa for kids or young adults Amenities: ★ Incredible wine country location ★ Manicured private patio area ★ WiFi and Streaming capable TV ★ BBQ on patio for grilling desires ★ Fire-pit and indoor fireplace available for use (please supply your own firewood) ★ Pet friendly (pet fee required) Location: ★ Easy and quick access to Highway 99 ★ 3/4 Mile to Stoller Vineyards ★ 1.5 Miles to the town of Lafayette ★ 4.5 Miles to the town of Dundee ★ 6 Miles to Evergreen Air and Space Museum and Wings and Waves Waterpark ★ 7 Miles to the town of Mcminnville ★ 30 Miles to downtown Portland We are always glad to answer any questions about things to do such as wine tours, events for whole families. The cottage was very conveniently located in wine country and had all the accommodations we could ask for. The team was helpful when we ran out of items, and it was a pleasant stay. We’ll stay again no doubt!

I will never use VRBO again after finding an under ground yellow jacket nest swarming at the entrance of the unit with no other access and the owner refused to credit my account. The owner was non responsive. Never use iTrips, and VRBO has lost my business permanently! I do not recommend this property, the landscape and setting is very dangerous. Even if they took time to resolve the issue with the nest the property is not maintained well at all.

Property was as described. Very clean and cozy. The down side was that it was very hot upstairs even while running the air conditioner 24/7. Nice open space for hanging out with 5 adults.

First, finding this cottage is not easy. We arrived in the evening and you cannot see the cottage from the road. There was a large dog roaming the property who was not happy to have visitors. That dog routinely was coming over to the cottage and barking at us. Secondly, this is definitely not a two bedroom as advertised. It is a one-bedroom with a loft. Third, there was construction going on every morning starting at 7:00 right outside the cottage - not exactly relaxing. The driveway was blocked by work trucks multiple times and the property owners would not come to the door when we tried knocking to get them moved. Lastly, the water is undrinkable in the house.
Overall the cottage is a decent, cozy space if you know that it is only one bedroom. If you are going to stay here, I would definitely recommend bringing your own water; whatever their water source is -it is pretty bad.

Good location that is close to so many wineries and cute towns. Love the discounted wine tastings. The neighborhood is active with trucks and some motor/car noises, so a heads up if anyone is sensitive to that. The wifi is good. The communication from property management was great. Appreciate the quick responses. The shower is super tiny and a little cracked on the floor, but it works. Overall a good experience.

This space was close to many wineries. It meet our expectations and was great because it was dog friendly. Would have loved to be able to build a fire outside but weather and fire ban did not permit. The two sitting chairs could have been more comfortable but we managed. We loved the pulley system that was installed.

My husband and I enjoyed the stay here with our fur baby. It was a great fit for us and good location to visit wineries in the area.
We found it very clean and inviting upon our arrival and privately tucked away.

Nice clean little cabin. There were five adults there and we all had adequate sleeping. One friend brought a twin air mattress and set it up on the living room floor. The kitchen was well stocked. The proximity to the local vineyards was perfect. We spent one afternoon and early evening in McMinnville at a couple of the recommended tasting rooms. I thoroughly enjoyed this. My only suggestion is bring drinking water as the water in the cabin was not great tasting.

The property is just as advertised, if not better! My niece was getting married at Stoller Winery & this was the perfect location for us to stay.
Although the evenings were a bit too warm for a fire outside, I can imagine how great that would be at the end of a long day.
The location is so convenient for exploring nearby areas. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Had a good time staying here. Some quirky things, but we had everything that we needed. The only thing that was difficult was the spiral staircase. Our daughter even had a tough time trying to get up and down.

Exactly as described - perfect for a wine weekend with our 4 legged friends
Great location - our dogs really liked having a yard to be outside - we enjoyed the fire outside every night- the property had everything you need and within 10-15 max minutes to be at any Dundee wineries ! Fantastic ! Also super close to McMinnville, Carlton and Newberg - great communication with manager as well ! Highly recommend !

Our family group of 5 adults enjoyed our stay in this house in February and said we would rent it again if the occasion arose. In May we returned to Yamhill County and did, in fact, rent the Wine Country Cottage a second time. Again, it met our needs admirably.

The cabin is so cute. The outdoor space is large and has lots of privacy. My dog enjoyed exploring. And I was able to relax out of doors and enjoy a small fire in the pit. Thank you so much!

Just what we wanted . . .
We expected the house to feel small for 5 adults, but the price and location were just what we were looking for, and we actually fit quite well. We would rent the house again.

Live and learn: very disappointing/poor value
Location was very strange: & uncomfortably isolated behind a very large truck-trailer storage building. Televison did not work until manager's helper came, so we missed watching some Olympic events we wanted to see. The big chairs we not comfy as expected: seat cushions did not fit and slid forward off chair almost immediately. Pet fee was not friendly, considering our dog's visit did not created any more need for cleaning than we did ourselves.

McMinnville visit
Our group liked the property in its relatively rural setting and it allowed my sister's 2 Brittanies to stay with us. We noted some inconsistencies in the welcome book that did not match our experience:
1) We had problems with Wi-if which the local contact helped correct but it took a couple of hours to correct. The incorrect information in the book contributed to the issue.
2) There was only 1 hand towel in the entire unit, not 1 per person as described in the book.
3) The garage door opener did not work although we could manually open the door.
4) There was no recycle bin as described in the book.
5) In addition, we found the following issues:
No instructions on the use of the overhead ceiling fan or the fireplace
No dish towels
The hot water was warm but not hot.
The microwave lights for the range did not work.
We have found the place very comfortable, it had a spacious yard and patio, and was easy to access. The entry lock worked well and we largely enjoyed the place. Once the welcome book is updated to match the existing conditions, I think most visitors would enjoy the place.

Overall, I'm disappointed with the lack of information about the cottage on VRBO. The address they have you navigate to is not the correct house address so getting there in the dark was a challenge. I kept checking, but there were no directions in any emails or info online about my booking. The door code was also not given to me, I had to ask for it. The heat wasn't working, some lights were not working, of the three times we ran the dishwasher, the dishes were only cleaned once and we never got the wireless password. When we brought up these issues, they were addressed, so we did get the heat turned on, for example, but it was a complicated process. So I just wonder why there weren't any directions either online or in the binder in the cottage. The cottage itself is cute and cozy but very small, the pictures online make it look much more roomy. The spiral staircase going up to the loft is tiny and almost treacherous to walk down safely. Kitchen is not well stocked as far as cooking essentials; we made it work but wished for more/better. We won't be staying here again.

Peace and Quiet
The home was very comfortable and cozy. It was a great setup for me and my parents. The main bedroom downstairs and then the upstairs provided another sleeping area along with a sitting area. Everything you needed for a comfortable stay was provided. Great communication and responsive hosts. Very understanding when there was an unexpected emergency that kept us from checking out on time and cleaning to the requested standard. I would definitely stay there again.

Overall, an ok stay in a clean cottage but things to know about the property that impacted our stay. The cottage is listed for a party of 5 but to access the upstairs you need to go up a narrow spiral staircase. We couldnt get our carryons up the stairs so had to leave bags in the living area making for cramped quarters. Also not for anyone with any mobility issues. A second things was that the property faces a semi-trailer and some kind of warehouse which is not shown in the photos. It made us feel a bit unsafe, not to mention that it ruins the views and country feel. We had an initial problem with switiching from ac to heat but prop manager responded quickly. Wish it was noted in the book in the property. never could get the bedroom fan to work. A few other items not found in the kitchen and bath. On the plus side are the cute decor and the outside patio and fire pit. Location is not bad for going to nearby towns and access to highway. Would recommend for a couple for a brief stay.

Great Location- Very Close to Stoller Vineyards
My husband and I really enjoyed staying at this rental. Property was very clean. Nicely decorated accommodations. Great to stay so close to Stoller Vineyards- about an 8 minute walk. Stoller Vineyards has a very nice setting/facility. The towns of McMinnville, Newburg and Dundee are all within a short drive. Dined at great restaurants in all these places. Especially enjoyed our visit to Elk Cove Vineyards. Used the voucher for wine tasting provided by itrips to visit that vineyard. We had a great stay!

Chose this place as a getaway from City life. It is really well situated so we felt out of the urban bustle. Creatively furnished it had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. Was also close to good restaurants and vineyards for tasting. We hopped over to Champoeg State Park to get some exercise. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage during our Willamette wine country weekend. It is really convenient to many of the area wineries/tasting rooms. It was also very close to McMinnville which has many restaurants and bars. One thing to note, it is a good idea to make reservations at the nicer places during summer ahead of time as there won’t be availability at the last minute. The cottage was very comfortable and we enjoyed sitting out on the patio during the nice evenings. The only thing that could have been better was the oven in the place didn’t work when we wanted to heat up leftovers. It was also difficult getting to sleep when the neighbors stay up and party late into the evening.
