This property is amazing. From the stunning water views framed by a spacious lawn to the three separate cottages, to the close proximity to the Cabot Trail as well as downtown Baddeck…it was perfect for our family retreat of 3 couples. The owner/manager Katie Fagan was very helpful during the booking process as well as during our stay. We will remember this trip for years to come and would highly recommend this experience to others!

Amazing getaway for a large family or group. Each of the cottages are clean and roomy with a great atmosphere and plenty of space. Katie is a friendly and communicative host - even though we didn't need any help, I have no doubt she would have helped us resolve any issue quickly. Looking forward to booking again next time we're in Cape Breton!

This fabulous property exceeded our expectations on our family vacation in Cape Breton.

I've stayed in ton of VRBOs and this is definitely top 5. The view is incredible and having three separate cottages was awesome for our group. Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone staying in the Baddeck area.

The three cottages are perfect for a group of adults. Everyone had their own space as well as plenty of room to congregate. Each cottage is charmingly decorated and each has a spectacular view of the lake. The thrid cottage now has a full bathroom. There were fans in each room which were great on the 3-4 warm days that we had. The location is perfect- close enough to Baddeck for dinner but far enough away to be completely peaceful.
The owner was very responsive for the few small issues that arose.
I would return without hesistation.

Thoroughly enjoyed our family holiday at the farm!
Daytrips around Cape Breton Island were memorable and quiet days/evenings at the beautiful cottages equally enjoyed. We holidayed with 3 married children and a 1 yr old grandson. All the baby items were onsite. Lots of room for everyone to play games/eat together. The kitchen fully equipped. The three cottages allowed everyone to spread out and have some quiet times. The deck views were beautiful! We holidayed late August so bugs were few, the tempertures very comfortable and the wild blueberries plentiful!
The only disappointment was we had to leave.

The house was great for our family of 8 and having the 2 separate cottages was nice giving some their own space. The view was beautiful and relaxing. Location is in a private area and a short 20 minute drive from Baddeck center. Everything is in the house that you need. Great windows open at night for a breeze. We enjoyed the Cabot Trail and did the Skyline walk, Amoeba Sail boat from Baddeck, Glenora Destillery, Red Shoe Pub, drinks and lunch at Cabot Links, golf at Bell Bay in Baddeck, Tubing down the Margaree River (highlight) and Spruce Hill Brewery (great for an afternoon of music and beer) and visits to a few beaches in Inverness and Sydney.
Only recommendation is to have a portable fan for every room in the summer as it was hot during the week we were there in July. Also bring bug spray for mosquitos and black flies as they were everywhere in Cape Breton but the spray helps a bit.
Great week, we loved Cape Breton. Thank you for lettings us rent your property.

We were looking for a vacation rental to accomodate a group of 5 adults and 4 children and the 3-house property proved ideal: clean, peaceful, functional. Baddeck is 15 minutes away and has everything you need. The patio is great and there is lots of playing space for kids , but the abundance of black flies limited our ability to enjoy it fully -- apparently this year is exceptional in this regard. The owners were quick to respond to our inquiries and made great recommendations (Red Shoe Pub in Mabou among them). Overall a great stay in Cape Breton.

The three buildings on this property are located right on Bras d’Or Lake. Stunning views of the sunrise. They are centrally located between Baddeck and the Gaelic College and so excellent for the Celtic Colours Festival. The main house kitchen was well equipped. The living area was comfortable and the large deck had very relaxing views. The main house and studio with the bathroom did need moderate attention for cleaning when we arrived which the owners attended to the next day. Given the cost, we would have expected everything to be checked before our arrival. On site laundry and clothesline were very useful. The owners were very helpful when it came to sorting out the dates we wanted to stay as it was their end of season. The owners were also available by phone and email and were very quick to respond which we appreciated. So, overall, it was a wonderful setting at the end of a quiet road. A great get-away.

The farm was a wonderful place to stay for our entire family. We had 3 couples, one with baby, and three teenagers. The view was beautiful and the location convenient. The owner was responsive to every inquiry and question. The only down side was the internet is anemic which was only important for work that couldn't wait.

Exquisite property - great escape for anyone looking to unplug.

What a week in Baddeck! We drove up to Cape Breton from Boston to spend quality time with our three children and family friends-and that we did! We chose this property because of the pictures on VRBO, and they don't lie! Because we arrived after dark, we couldn't appreciate the view until the morning. And boy oh boy-what a way to wake up. We took our cups of coffee, and sat outside on the expansive deck. What a wonderful place to take it all in!The cottages were the perfect place to share with another family. They were clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed (and the lack of television was much needed for our children!) Most days we ventured out to explore Cape Breton, and Baddeck was the ideal location...right in the middle of everything. We went up to the Highlands and visited Ingonish Beach which our kids loved! And we all loved the views as we drove there-the Cabot Trail is a must if you're coming to stay. Another day we traveled on the other side of Cape Breton, to Mabou, to show our children where their Great Grandmother grew up. But Baddeck itself has a quaint downtown to explore-artsy shops, coffee/tea store, ice cream, and a few restaurants to dine at. But going on the Amoeba sailboat was a definite highlight. The crew gave a detailed history of Baddeck, and sailed us by a pair of Bald Eagles who were awaiting the fish the Captain threw out to them. We've taken our family to Disney World, to resorts, a cruise, but this vacation "was our favorite"-out of the mouths of babes. Our 13 year old loved riding his mountain bike around the area, and waking up early to fish. The kind-hearted and generous landscaper, Tony, shared his favorite fishing spot with our son, and he was eager to go there! While there, he bumped into Tony who not only shared the fishing spot, but also, several filets of mackerel from his "catch of the day"! We found this generosity and kindness typical with all of the Canadians we met and chatted with during our stay. It's another reason why we will definitely return. And when we do, we hope we can stay at the Fagan's beautiful homestead again.
