Situated in Ashland, this charming house for R 2,939 per night is a great choice for your next break. Just a stone's throw to the plaza, a licensed one-bedroom vacation rental suite is tucked behind one of Ashland's charming craftsman-style bungalows. Your private gated entrance, located behind the house, opens onto a peaceful garden and quaint patio - a wonderful place to enjoy morning coffee and a book, or a glass of wine in the evening. In the summer and fall, help yourself to the ripe tomatoes, fresh herbs and fruit growing in the garden. The owner has lovingly created a sanctuary-like space within the town's premier historic district. Step back in time and enjoy a quiet retreat away from TVs and phones. (FREE, high-speed, reliable, password-protected Wifi is available for your laptop should you wish.) Your separate, attached one-bedroom retreat awaits and features fine linens, a private bath and a fully-stocked kitchenette including organic tea, coffee, cream and sugar. Step inside: a cool, restful palette adorns a tastefully furnished room that includes period pieces such as an arts-and-crafts style armoire. You'll find a quiet, comfortable bedroom that overlooks an enchanted, fragrant flower garden. This inviting space features wood and tile floors, a ceiling fan, a silent A/C and heating unit, wall and space heaters, and plenty of windows so that you can take advantage of the abundant natural light and fresh mountain air. The bungalow is kept exceptionally clean using homemade, environmentally-friendly cleaners and a HEPA air purifier. Sorry, no smoking or pets. The on-site owner has been a resident of Ashland for the past 23 years. Your privacy is my utmost priority. If desired, I would be happy to guide you nearby hiking and biking trails, farmer's markets, wineries, hot springs and locally-grown organic food. I am also happy to supply you with anything you need during your stay. Ashland highlights such as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Lithia Park, Cabaret Theater, downtown plaza, restaurants, shops, and movie theaters are all within a lovely 10 - 15 minute walk. You'll stroll through a level, shaded historic neighborhood and cross a bridge over the gentle waters of Ashland Creek on your way there! To maximize your privacy, cleaning services are not included as part of your stay. Fresh linens will be provided to those guests staying one week or longer. The Stone's Throw Bungalow is an eco-friendly establishment. We encourage walking, biking, carpooling, bus riding, conservation, recycling and other practices that lessen your impact on the earth during your stay. The location was great just a 15 minute walk to dt and the theater. The interior was beautifully designed and outfitted, very comfortable bed, quiet, and small. The best of all was the garden which we used as our living room. Coffee in the morning when it warmed up, reading and chatting. Really gorgeous and well maintained.

Well-appointed would be an understatement - she anticipated every need! Fully stocked kitchen, beautifully decorated, and the most lovely garden. Host was both accommodating and unobtrusive. Highly recommend.

This place is so beautifully decorated and designed. The design of the garden gives you privacy as you sit out enjoying your coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. The bungalow is fully equipped to meet all your vacation needs. The owner greets you with such warmth and overwhelming hospitality. My husband and I are already planning on when we can return. Loved our stay.

Really enjoyed our stay at Stone's Throw. In immaculate condition, practical kitchen area, shower was hot and bed was great. The garden area really made a difference offering an outdoor relaxing and dining area. Very serene atmosphere. Took about 15-20 minutes to walk downtown. Our host was most accommodating. A perfect stay.

This place was amazing! The mini-kitchen had everything you needed to cook some small meals. The shower had great water pressure. The bed was very comfortable. One of my favorites was the beautiful garden area! Plenty of space to sit and relax and enjoy the wonderful sights and smells of the garden. . . so peaceful! I WILL be back!!

The property is quite nice. There is a modest, but quite adequate kitchen. The bed is very comfortable! There is a large outdoor space right outside of the door, with a separate area enclosed by landscape, for the unit. The area has seating, surrounded by trees and beautiful plantings and herbs.
Overall a really nice place to stay!

I stayed for 2 weeks while working in the area and this bungalow was the perfect quiet retreat to come home to. I especially enjoyed the comfy bed, and the cotton bed linens make all the difference. The garden was lovely and I enjoyed having my coffee outside, and I the birds singing. The bungalow feels very private, even with all the curtains open.

Stone’s Throw Bungalow was a great place to stay when we traveled to Ashland to visit an old friend. Karin and Guy provided so many extra little touches, such as a fresh fruit board and fresh flowers, it made our visit feel special. The place is very clean and well-equipped with kitchen supplies and better-quality linens. Thanks for your thoughtful hospitality!

Wouldn't change anything about our stay at Stone's Throw Bungalow - absolutely everything we needed was available ... and then some. Perfect walking distance to downtown restaurants and theaters. Extremely friendly hosts who helped us get oriented. We were able to enjoy sitting out in the garden as well before the rainy weather came in. Just perfect and would absolutely stay here again on our next Ashland getaway!

What a magical place! Our host had all the finishing touches including fresh flowers and everything we could possibly need. There was even extra outlets next to the bed and that is difficult to find! Couldn't have been cozier or happier in Stone's Throw bungalow!

A Wonderful Stay in Ashland
Stone’s Throw Bungalow is very cute and cozy. Karin has included all sorts of amenities. There was nothing I could think of that was not provided. The garden is a wonderful treat. I made a point of being there in the afternoons when the sunshine was warm and pleasant and I watched the fall colours as they changed. There was a deer and her faun that were enjoying the neighbourhood, as well. Karin is an excellent host who replies very promptly and goes out of her way to make the stay memorable. I decided not to rent a car and I found Stone’s Throw Bungalow is centrally located and everything I wanted to do was within easy walking distance. I definitely plan to return.

Stone's Throw is a comfortable, cozy, quiet spot. The temperature reached over 90 the few days we were there, but the very quiet air conditioner and ceiling fan kept the cottage cool. We loved the lush garden right outside our door with a variety of sitting areas where we could read and enjoy nature. And Karin was very helpful, from offering to get us guest passes to the Y, providing recommendations for restaurants and immediately mailing to us an item we left behind.

Garden Retreat
This is a perfectly appointed spot to access all the Ashland has to offer. It's an easy walk to downtown, the plays and Lithia Park or an easy drive to surrounding areas. Karin is a perfect host: there when you need her, but giving you your privacy when you don't. She is thoughtful and helpful which shows in the details of the place like coffee and breakfast provided for our late night arrival. The bed is comfy. Also, she has an amazing green thumb and has created a little retreat in the garden just for visitors. We grilled one night and ate in the garden and it was just lovely. We would highly recommend this spot.

Hidden Garden Gem
Karin is a delightful host and her place is charming, comfortable and brand new. Set in a quiet neighborhood with a separate entrance and plenty of privacy. She even set up the fire pit for us in her lovely garden. Only a 15 minute walk to the theaters, shops and restaurants. This was our first trip to Ashland but not our last and we plan to stay here again. The organic chocolate mints on our bedstands were a nice touch! And the mattress was excellent. Just perfect.
