We loved the view from the front window. It was a quiet and peacful Christmas vacation.

The cottage was as described, a two bedroom, one and a half bath with a bit of a view of the ocean. The problem with the rental is this unit is filthy. I have seven photos I would like to share with you of the built up dirt and grime on all the baseboard/trim and the front door which looks like it has been kicked in a couple of times to shelf protectors missing in the fridge which makes the door unusable to window sill dirt and grime to the shower head not being securely attached to the wall and it moves back and forth. I would like to submit pictures to back up my claim. This was an extremely disappointing property.

Stayed at this property 4 nights on a trip along the Pacific Coast. Home was clean, comfortable, nice neighborhood and view of the ocean out the front window. Two blocks to public access to beach with great view of Battery Point Lighthouse. Walked the beach every night. Visited Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park twice and Prairie Creek Redwoods Area along with nice coastal overlooks from this location. Would stay here again.

Hi, enjoyed the area & there is much to like about the property. Clean, tidy, good bathroom, laundry & kitchen. It is good value but 2 specific things really need resolving. Firstly the sofas are extremely uncomfortable & all cushions have little or no support & covers need cleaning. Secondly the curtains in the main bedroom need replacing with thicker curtains or blinds which stopstreet light coming in & affecting sleep. Once done, this would be a great house

Nicely furnished with a nice array of amenities that really made this house feel like a home away from home. Great backyard for my dogs to run around when we didn’t go to the beach!

Very cute home with all of the comforts of home. Nice back yard for kids and pets. One block up from the beach with great views of the Lighthouse. Close to town and plenty of activities.visit Crescent City often and will never stay in a motel again. VRBO is the way to go!

It was exactly what my family needed for our trip. Beach access was amazing and the house itself was a perfect size for our family of four.

The flowers on the table were a nice touch. Your home was very clean except for the ants in the kitchen. Our food and cooler were covered in a short time. It would have been nice to know that there is no central heat. We liked the zone heat in the bedrooms but were unable to use the fireplace...no instructions. The space heaters worked okay but seemed dangerous to leave on at night.
The access to the backyard was poor. The door to the yard had broken slates and was quite difficult to open and lock.

Had a wonderful 5 night stay at this house. It was just as advertised and very clean. Well equipped kitchen for a rental. Nice back yard space and so close to beach access.

Love the house and location, minor touch ups need to be done and it needs a new couch and love seat, very springy. But otherwise we loved it.

Wonderful pet friendly beach house with large fenced back yard. It is less than a block to the beautiful beach. The house is stocked with everything you need but not overstocked or cluttered. Walking distance to whatever you may need, grocery store, restaurant, gift shops, dog park, kid park, museum or whatever you want to do. Lots of adventures close by in the majestic redwoods. The harbor area is filled with seals and fresh fish. There is even an aquarium in town. Crescent City really has a lot to offer. Wonderful trip. Great weather.

Everything was clean, instructions were simple and minimal. We appreciated being able to use the garage. Wish the weather had been better, as the house doesn’t really have central heating, and the space heaters/fireplace did only an ok job. Highly recommend staying in this location, the redwoods are so close!

We use VRBO consistently to find vacation rentals. Typically, we have very good luck in terms of what is listed as an amenity and what is actually in good working order when we arrive. Unfortunately, we received a message from the nice host via VRBO after we had departed for our destination letting us know the oven and some kitchen outlets were not working. I didn't receive the message until we returned home. When we arrived at the cottage, we found the internet would not work, and while the host tried to get it resolved, we had no wifi/internet access for our entire trip. The oven and dishwasher were not working due to an electrical issue, and the heater in the main bedroom seemed to have a serious issue causing us to turn it off immediately. While this is a decently laid out little cottage, in a very convenient location, and kept very clean, it should either be made ready to be rented out prior to accepting a reservation, or it should be offered at a discounted rate with the non-working items noted, should the loss of those amenities not be a problem for the renter.

We rented this place for my mom and our dog. The location is great, nice backyard, and comfortable place to stay. The host is very responsive and helpful. It took us a while to figure out the heating, but once we did it was very toasty.

It's cozy, with a nice yard for my small dog. The location is really great for walking too. I felt safe. Loved it so much I'll be returning in a week+ for the SeaCruise car show.

This was a cute, plain and very clean house. Decent location-right by the coast. Crescent City is a impoverished community and this seemed like one of the safer, quieter neighborhoods. The only comments regarding the property : the Keurig Coffee maker did not work at all, we used multiple pods (there were no instructions), the tv was a bit confusing (again no instructions) and the instructions for the heat were the owners manual with pages circled.

Great location and they had everything we needed. Check in was easy with a key lock box. The house was clean. They had a grill out back, that we were able to use. This house exceeded our expectations. Thank you.

The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It has been thoroughly remodeled and is like a new home. It could use more bathroom towel bars and more noticeable instructions regarding the operation of the gas fireplace, which heats the whole house except the bedrooms. We loved the short walk to the beach and the wonderful views there. The house has attractive beachy décor.

Loved the layout of the rooms. Cute kitchen and dining room. So close to the beach, SeaQuake restaurant, and ride down Howland-Hill Road to the ancient Redwoods! Who could ask for anything more? Thanks, Debbie

This house just over a block from a rocky beach in Crescent City was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed for our 2-day stay. What you see is what you get on the outside--not the most interesting house in the neighborhood--but inside was comfortable and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The kitchen was well equipped and functional, including an oven and dishwasher in kitchen, for preparing and cooking relatively simple meals. It's a really nice location easily accessible from 101 and close to shopping, but positioned sufficiently deep in a flat, easy-walking neighborhood of eclectic homes such that the main noise at night is the pleasant sound of a distant foghorn. It has off-street, if slightly steep, parking available and even a modest sized backyard area. We would stay again given the opportunity.

This house was very clean and well stocked with towels and blankets. Kitchen had everything we needed. It's was just a block from the beach. The lighthouse was so beautiful. Easy access to grocery stores, gas and restaurants. Not far from Redwoods. The pillows on the beds are not great. I always bring my own but my husband said his was pretty flat. Overall, we had a great stay and would stay again..

This property met our needs. We appreciated being able to do laundry. The fireplace was great for chasing out the chill.
A few suggestions: have more than 4 chairs (even 2 folding chairs would help), have instructions for operating the Dish TV; clean the windows; have room darkening window coverings in the front bedroom—the street light shone through the sheer curtains.

This was our first vacation taking the kids by ourselves. It was perfect! We don't live near the ocean, so for them to be able to walk to the beach was amazing. The house was excellently decorated with cute beach themed decor. The beds were clean and comfortable. The house was big enough to not feel crowded for the 4 of us but small enough to keep an eye on the girls. Loved it!!

This was a really great place for easy access to Redwood hiking and beach exploring! The town and the house are not fancy, but it was clean and convenient and just what we needed. Pics accurate. Fenced backyard made it easy with dog. Laundry was a big plus, and nice to have extra 1/2 bath in laundry room. Comfortable beds, but could use darker curtains, it was bright quite early! Sofas not great. Shower nice and hot with great water pressure. “Bird” scooters around town were a big hit with kids. Thanks!
